Can we all agree the map reworks are really bad?
i mean what the hell did they do to Coldwind? Those new tiles are so awful and they nerfed coldwind so hard 😭 same goes for Ormond.. the other 2 versions are so plain bad that my friends don’t like that map anymore. Is there anyway they can revert those changes and i don’t recall anyone asking to touch Ormond in the first place.. it was a perfectly balanced map for both sides. I feel like they gonna butcher every single map with their lame ‘rework’ and only create the map into more huge deadzones with garbage pallets like Haddonfield right now 😭

The reworked cold wind maps (cowshed and abattoir) were already riddled with huge dead zones and now even the few tiles that did spawn on them are garbage. Truly a genius move.

Agree with all that has been said and then killers get buffed to be even stronger.
The maps also look so much worse than they did back then. Especially coldwind.

It is what I've been saying for years.
The map reworks should have never been done. Mostly because of the visuals, as they were an integral aspect of DBD's identity, and removing them is like removing Cuphead's unique style and giving that game modern graphics. It doesn't work.
And second, the balance. Rancid Abattoir used to be a good map for survivors and now there is literally nothing to work with. It is just one giant deadzone. And I don't even want to mention maps like Haddonfield or The Game.
It is a tragic tale, no doubt. Obviously none of us could expect DBD to remain a static game without any changes, but some things should have been left the way they were.

The game was so much more fun back in the days. I really loved this game as I started, but it feels like it gets worse with each update. I really miss old dead hard, which gave you a short jump/sprint forward without the endurance.
At the moment it feels very frustrating to play survivor and I can‘t even play killer, because the que times are constantly over 5min.

I'm concerned at the recent trend in map updates. There's a pattern where they're gravitating towards destroying strong resources and replacing them with very weak ones. Seems like every second story window has to have a drop right next to it, and we're getting loads of edge pallets that are so unsafe there's not only no way to run them, you can't even stun the killer with them because anyone with a brain will just walk around the side with absolutely no risk. Same with the new tiles they keep adding to generation, a good chunk of them are completely unusable and they come at the cost of a tile the survivor would have gotten value at.
Some loops are too strong and need to be removed, sure, I get why they removed double window house in Haddonfield and I agree… but survivors need actual resources they can play around.

I don't like the new tiles or variants at all either. And they added an insane amount of clutter and random garbage.

All of this. Making maps smaller and more dead zones with useless pallets is all I see.

I am even more concerned about Midwich rework. I cant even imagine of how they gonna make this map worse than it already is, but i have no doubt that they will make it happen. Theyre just terribly bad at making balancing decisions.

"The game was so much more fun back in the days."
I agree completely, my friend. I really miss how DBD used to be.

i’m so happy everyone agrees on this! People bringing Eryie,Asylum,Garden and Dead Dawg these days and i don’t even mind it at all. Let’s hope they will see this and maybe rethink about changing the maps back as how they were.

the only thing that makes the newer tiles remotely viable, is the lack of Line of Sight visibility. Problem is there are a large amount of viable aura perks for killers, so it would be easy to render the "loop" useless.

Yeah as a killer main, I was thinking they couldn't make Haddonfield any worse for balance, and yet BHVR somehow managed it by making it so killer sided I feel bad a lot of the time. It is more killer sided than it ever was survivor sided now which is just absurd.
I have no faith in their map reworks and actually dread the swamp rework. Swamp maps are not too bad atm but I'm sure they will make them awful.

I'm not sure if messing with tiles are correct way to buff killers

that kinda thing that BVHR has trouble figuring out. Is it that Ghostface is too weak and needs buffs or is it that Badham preschool is too strong such that ghostface is m1 killer with no chance to win on said map if the survivor is equally skilled.
BVHR has trouble deciding this. In the end, they seem to do a mixture of both buffing killers. good strategy? bad strategy? hard to say.

2v8 has really brought to my attention how terrible 1v4 map reworks are, I've had so much more fun with the 2v8 versions when it comes to chase on both sides.
They really need to stop making "Bad" tiles.0
