Wow they did for real reveal it whole year ahead that's kinda crazy xD
I am glad I know ahead but like… 11-12 months from now on like… that's pretty far away to announce something this big.

Im confused? What happened?
1 -
If you scroll up I posted a video explaining. Beware it involves politics

Scott cawthon likes his IP and lore kept accurate. This will be good. (listen to his interview [Dawko's Channel] if you don't believe me)

Even though I rather dislike this franchise, and have a whole load of nerd rage I want to say (Edit 6: and am really fighting to hold back)... Instead I'll say GZ FNAF fans.
I hope BHVR go hard on it, do the idea justice and manage to make it more appealing to old cranks like me.

I was certain to meet you here. How will you continue? I personally was fine with the franchise not being added, due to the controversy surrounding it.
1 -
Thanks for letting me know. I will not be supporting this content or DLC.
2 -
Anything for a buck, right?
4 -
Let‘s go. This will be awesome when they do it right.
One question tho is it a quarter or skins for the movie or the games?
Edit: I really hope they make a new unique killer like pig or Sadako and no antiloop xyz power.

Presumably in an attempt to deal with the backlash far from the actual release.
Their marketing and PR departments presumably hope that it all blows over and everyone forgets that they chose to partner with someone who actively funded harmful anti-LGBTQ bigotry to the tune of thousands of dollars.4 -
Yep.
Which is why them closing threads and insisting "no controversial topics" is ridiculous.
They chose to create a controversy by partnering with someone whose actions are deeply controversial due to hateful anti-LGBTQ bigotry.
(Which then casts BHVR's shows of support for Queer people in an extremely cynical and unpleasant light.)8 -
The most likely reason that they announced it so far in advance is to try and mitigate the inevitable backlash for supporting and collaborating with a man who actively funds anti-LGBTQ hate.
Financially supporting someone whose money goes towards hateful bigotry tends to come with PR issues.
BHVR are most likely hoping that they can get all that out of the way in advance, so that Gamers™ have forgotten the controversy and bigotry by the time the actual release comes around.3 -
If someone funds hateful bigotry to the tune of thousands of dollars, they at the very least consider such hateful bigotry to be acceptable.
Which the people targeted and harmed by such bigotry are well-within their rights to condemn, as is everyone who cares in the slightest about human rights and human lives.
Scott Cawthon chose to inflict material harm to LGBTQ people.
His response to being caught out doing so was a milquetoast non-apology and a vague handwave towards other donations he made. He's still doing the exact same thing to this day.
He still profits from the very same IP that BHVR has chosen - despite their own alleged support for LGBTQ people - to collaborate with. You don't get to be dismissive and disrespectful of the very real threats to human life that LGBTQ people face as a result of people like that.

Can't wait to be humped on the floor and bm by a clueless player

Im happy this will give FNAF fans the same treatment Resident Evil fans like myself received. I hope it brings a ton of new people to the game!
2 -
Even more reason to keep the endgame chat off. If they add the stupid jumpscares ill just get another killer like skully where i say…gg next.
1 -
I was silently hoping for Friday the 13th 😢😭
Probably gonna wait some times for this to happen
2 -
Perhaps they could ,like a merging of locations. Like imagine your running down the halls of the og pizz place and you enter a door or portal. And your in a different location. Another door boom your under the mall running through the cave system.

Just as market research trends suggest. Consumers (especially younger U.S. consumers) are putting more importance on social responsibility and ethics of companies. They are selective to patron an establishment that does not align with their views.
Interesting to see on this week of The Forums.

While I am excited for FNAF fans, this makes me sad because of that 4chan "leak" that said we were getting IndoRaptor from Jurassic World is a fake. I would've loved to have played as a hyper intelligent dinosaur stalking survivors. Guess I'll just stick with Xenomorph for the time being.
2 -
No not necessarily. He didn't soley fund hateful bigotry you are just focusing on purely one thing when that's not what this was, there's more to this than just human rights and he didn't explicitly and soley chose to harm LGBTQ people.
His response to being caught out was honesty.
He profits from his own IP because of course he should.
You're in your right to condemn him but i don't agree with the reasons why. I'm not being dismissive i just don't see things the same way.1 -
You know these forums represent only 0.001% of the DbD community, at best. Everywhere else, people seem pretty excited and celebratory. Most people don't care. It's only here I see anyone acting outraged, because people here love to get outraged over literally everything.

I don't think you'll ever really be able to get the full picture on the forums, reddit, steams, etc…
I'm just commenting much wider in general across the board it seems that issues around social responsibility are on the forefront of consumer's minds more. But maybe that's just my Millennial dementia.

Based on BHVR's recent trend, they could add an outdoor section to the map. Whatever they do, I really hope that there's gonna be a map, and that it will do the FNAF chapter justice :)

Aw yeah, can't wait to get stabbed to death by Legion in the Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria parking lot. The most realistically feasible horror in the game.

Massive, MASSIVE W.

Took them more than long enough. I never understood why people were so opposed to its inclusion. Whether you love it or hate it, it left a huge mark on the horror genre and it has the potential to bring in a lot of players to DBD, as well as a pretty cool map alongside the obvious killer. (Also, for everyone complaining that FNAF fans are kids… most of those kids are ten years older now than they were when they got into FNAF.)

100%. There are a lot of people who love the franchise and don't care one way or another what the creator's political views are. A small group of toxic people are trying to derail this collaboration and ruin it for everyone who is excited about it and planning on buying the DLC.

I think people have always said they wanted a company that was socially conscious (or in past times - cool, hip, with it, forward thinking), but it doesn't override getting a product they like. Hogwarts: Legacy, Chik-fil-A, and even the FNaF series show this where sales have continued despite movements against those companies/products.
If anything, it's older generations whose boycotts have been more effective in recent years (Bud Light).
2 -
This I can agree with
Wither he was right or wrong doesn't matter when people are getting banned because they made a controversial decision and then insist on no conservancy.
1 -
Honestly I think they're gonna try some new realm binding stuff. Like the portals from dnd. Being chased in the fnaf1 pizza place open a door and boom your in the third location hit a vent and then your under the mall from sb.

All of this outrage about a cosmetic pack. Am I the only one to notice that Iron maiden, Attack on Titan, Rainbow 6 and Slipknot had a huge X between dbd and relevant title? Castlevania doesn't have a huge X in the title. Neither does any other licensed character. Otherwise please continue your narrow minded rage.

Trust me, we won't forget this one.
Maybe they hope a new leader will re-instate a lot of the protections that were taken away by the guy whom Scott supported through his financial gains.
Don't get me wrong, I love DBD… but this was truly a slap in the face for the LGBTQ community.

Resident evil also had the X when the crossover was announced
