How Would You Fix Your Mains Ultra Rares?

I wanted to get some other people’s ideas on how to change or rework some of the worst Ultra Rares in the game for a video. For example I think both of Huntress’s UR’s are bad because they encourage her to hardly throw any hatchets or none at all. So I would change them like this:

Iridescent Head

  • Hatchets that hit gens cause that gen to explode and instantly lose 5%
  • Hatchets that land next to survivors healing or repairing cause them to receive a difficult skill check
  • Hatchets hits past 45 meters inflict dying upon the survivor (maybe too strong idk, could probably leave this one out)

Soldiers Putee

  • Pickup survivors 20% faster
  • Vault windows while carrying survivors
  • Carry survivors at 110%

But I don’t know good or interesting changes that would make sense or be fun for other killers ultra rares. So let me know about your own ideas!

    I like that idea a lot actually! Add ons changing the way the killer is played or counter played is always dope!

    And Thanks! I just was trying to come up with something unique related to her feet since a putee is like a foot and leg wrap for strength. It’s more of a goofy aspect but could be nice in niche scenarios. I was originally think about vaulting pallets but that might be too strong for an add on.

    Singularity:

    Soma's family photo is ultra rare again. gives 7% haste and reduces overclock duration by 50%. (rough numbers, the idea is the same as old-old soma's photo - you get haste, but your overclock runs out way before you reach survivor so it's mainly a tool to catch up faster).

    Denied requisition form is very rare. No longer makes EMPs take extra time to generate.

    Iridescent Crystal shard: Biopods automatically infect any survivor within half of their their view range at 0.1 rate (same rate as when survivor is near hooked teammate, 6 seconds of being in LoS to infect). Increases camera cooldown (time between infecting/teleporting to people with cameras) by 10 seconds. - Big nerfs, mostly useless, but can make singularity way easier to play as biopods tag survivors on their own if they're careless. Biopods have normal range for manual use, but it's cut in half for automatic infection. Main usage is to pressure survivors across the map and make them spend more EMPs, however at the cost of greatly losing in ability to build up infections.

    Also would switch plant fibers with hologram generator. Hologram generator (very rare) new effect - whenever you lock on or teleport to any survivor through the cameras, all survivors see the corresponding visual effect on them. - Singu's version of Freddy's / Sadako's global fake TP addon

    EDIT: another iri idea:

    Increases the amount of supply crates by 4. Decreases the amount of time to print EMP by 30 seconds. Removes internal camera cooldown. - An addon for crazy people. Gives survivor excessive amount of EMPs to the point survivors can mindlessly spam them. The reward? Teleports within 1.4 seconds, no cooldown for infecting people, essentially the ability to infect the whole team within seconds across the map and force survivors to pre-emptively destroy cameras. Basically permanent effect of the now patched camera tech.. Balancing stat - the amount of crates and time it takes to pick a EMP (if it proves to be not enough, there can be more crates or even less time for EMPs to be passively printed).

    Xenomorph:

    Acidic blood - the effect is applied upon losing crawler mode to turrets and until crawler mode is restored. - same idea as old version, but a bit more fair and easier to use as you dont have very short situational window to activate it. Also makes xenomorph lose crawler mode on purpose as a strategic move which makes survivors feel more rewarded for using turrets & gives xenomorph an option to play as m1 in certain cases or ignore turrets and dont feel as bad.

    Cattle prod - Increases the amount of control stations on the map by 7. Decreases resistance to turrets by 50%. - gives xenomorph tremendous versatility and much easier access to tunnels however at the cost of becoming greatly vulnerable to turrets to the point any turret in the open burns xeno out. The idea is to encourage heavy tunnel usage even in chase.

    • Wooden plank Survivors are exposed for the whole nightfall duration. Currently it is only the last 12s of it.

    Pig:

    • Amandas letter no longer reduces the amount of bear traps available
    • Videotape attaches an active bear trap to everyone at the start of each trial

    I would add a new legion ultra rare add on called “Frenzy Slash” that makes it so every second hit with feral frenzy on the same survivor is a guaranteed instadown

    The Shape

    Tombstone Piece

    • Grants the ability to inflict a hook state upon a healthy or injured survivor by your own hands while in Evil Within 3.

    • Inflicting a hook state drains the Power Gauge by 150% but not past Evil Within 2.

    • Increases the threshold to reach Evil Within 3 for the first time by 150%.

    To shorten it - Myers essentially can grab a survivor the same as before but at the end of it they are thrown on the ground in the dying state and the Entity snatches them and they are remotely placed on a hook across the map.

    I would also personally give some sort of tell that this addon is being used but outside of that this is what I would change about one of my mains. Lower the requirement and resource usage of the stalk for the addon but also not make it take someone out of the match immediately. It also becomes super obvious a Myers has this when someone randomly teleports to a hook.

    The Shape is one of the 4 killers I primarily play and yes I know it's a Purple but realistically it's his strongest addon and one of the strongest addons in the game. It's incredibly stupid how it works now.

    doesn't wooden plank expose you 12 seconds before nightfall begins? Like dredge makes sound when nightfall approaches.

    Plague:

    Iri seal: Every time a generator is completed, fills one fountain with corruption.

    Black incense: When the Obsession is fully infected, Reveal their aura every time they cough for 5 seconds.

    Im a Pinhead main both of his URs are trash (not as trashi as the Executioner's ones but still).

    Iridiscent Lament Configuration:

    I just don't get that. Why would this add-on be any usefull if there is no actual effect lol. In devs's minds its like "huh, the killer has less time and less fov so lets make them find their box with no aura...wait, survivours have much more free time and larger fov, so hiding box's aura is not fair, so lets make it that way so when its chainhunt the box is visible and when its not...its still visible". Theres just no way survivours couldnt find the box with no aura, so lets make this addon do nothing and just saying it hides aura lol.

    The possible changes is: 1) reverse the states when the box is visible so its visible when its no chainhunt and is not when its chainhunt; or 2) just delete this idiotic condition of in-range visibility.

    Engeneers Fang:

    It is fair imo, but just not in my own playstile, because I dont know why hitting survivour on a distance is needed. They will just heal...so this add-on makes you suffer from debuffs but actually makes nothing for me.

    This would be an awesome change actually, fully support that.

    I personally think Clown's Pinky Finger is gutted beyond repair. If the point is to make unique gameplay, I would have it so he gets 1 and only 1 pink.bottle, but the rest of his bottle count is only his antidote.

    This means he is still throwing antidotes to zoom around, which survivors can also huff to zoom around with as well, but he only gets his 1 shot with the exposed effect. That seems like it'll be interesting and fair, without being completely useless.

    making compohnd 33 apply basic attack perks on lethal rush hits . Thats it . For oni having an iri that lets you attack through a pallet but only deals one health state ( like that one billy add on ) .

    Yeah, I can understand slower crouch speed as downside on this addon, but how cut her slowdown in half is fair traid for this effect?

    Honestly remove this thing, its broken to have.
    Perma aura reveal on puke is a joke

    2: Iridescent seal

    Dont really see an issue with it, has a good downside for its upside.


    Legion

    1: Fuming Mix Tape

    Just have it increase duration of Feral. Noone wants an awkward version of surveillance.

    2: Iridescent Button

    Dont see an issue, addon I dont use it personally but can be handy at that level.

    No - the expose for dredge is the last X amount of seconds before it ENDS.

    Also your plague suggestions for iris would be a nerf. 1 fountain filled with corrupt when a gen completes, I would rather get it instantly and not waste time walking to it.


    Not to mention incense. Aura only on the obsession? I’d rather keeps auras on everyone puking….

    Honestly I think both of Legion's Ultra Rares are good, it's just playing them without Bracelet + Mischief List is pain.

    So I guess I'd make basekit Legion not terrible, fixed!

    Survivors can now become Tormented by Punishment Of The Damned attacks. If an injured Survivor is hit by Punishment Of The Damned, they become Exhausted and Broken for 60 seconds. Survivors who are Tormented will scream at random intervals (like with The Doctor and Madness), revealing their location. Punishment Of The Damned cannot put a survivor into the dying state.

    (In Silent Hill Lore, the Seal of Metatron is largely seen as junk by The Order. However, in a book found by Cheryl - then, Heather - it is said to have disspelling properties. My rework imagines the seal as almost reversed by The Entity, making it cast spells over all with greater effect).

    Obsidian Goblet:

    Tormented survivors suffer from the Oblivious and Blindness status effects until they lose torment.

    Bloody Coil

    Picking up a Survivor from a trap grants 1 token, up to a maximum of 4.

    While carrying a Survivor, for every token in your posession your movement speed is increased by 5% and the time required to wiggle is increased by 4%.

    Survivors caught in a Bear Trap are faced with continuous skill checks. They must succeed 10 of them to free themselves.

    Iridescent Stone

    Automatically resets and arms a Bear Trap every 30 seconds. The most recent reset trap is highlighted in yellow.

    When a trap is armed by any means, reveal any Survivors aura within 16 meters for 5 seconds.

    BASEKIT CHANGE: Whenever a Survivor is hooked, cannot place or reset traps within 12m of the hook. (Prevents basement camping, as well as holding a small room in indoor maps that have very few entrances. Already set traps remain active)

    Iri seal of metatron

    Any pallets and breakable walls hit by punishment of the damned instantly break

    Obsidian goblet

    Increases range of punishment of the damned by 20 meters

    Increases time to charge rights of judgment by 2 seconds

    Sending out a punishment of the damned consumes 50% of rites of judgment

    Setting up trails consumes rights of judgment 5% faster

    There is no slower crouch. The aura reading isnt good. Play with this addon for 5ish matches and you will know what I mean. As it is, I would call this a green addon. Even Johns medical file is a lot better than this addon.

    Just remove the downside and the addon is worth the rarity.

    • Automatically consumes all Chainsaw Charges while triggering a Chainsaw Sweep.

    Crouching without medical file is already useless most of the time. Making slower crouch a downside would again make the addon super niche without much use outside of map offerings (Lery´s / Midwich / Gideon).

    I personally really dislike the idea of map offerings and think that an addon, especially an iridescent one should be strong on its own.

    I would make her Severed Hand Addon an iri one because it is her best Addon. The iridescent Feather Addon would become a purple Addon with a rework: when you injury a survivor with your crows from more than 24 meters away, you become undetectable for 25 seconds.

    The Garden Of Rot Addon gets a rework: When a survivor loses a health state through your crows, the aura of the survivor is revealed to you for 6sec.

    Imo, with the recent basekit buffs, the addon is actually useful now, outside of indoor maps. Had a round a few days ago on gas heaven, were I played with the addon, and it allowed me to get some nice hits around the junk loops. So I wouldn't agree to the aura being bad. At least since her ambush got buffed, it can actually be used in a chase around (high) loops.

    Still would prefer to use all traps instead of only two, thats for sure.

    Im not saying that your wrong in any regard, however, the addon has to be looked at in regard to the bigger picture. Pig is a killer with no map mobility that relies on her build in slowdown to manage survivor generator speed.

    Losing 50% of that slowdown (potentially mori) for a little bit better chase does not equal out at all. Especially for an iridescent addon.

    You are correct though. The aura can come in clutch as can other addons / perks in this game. Believe it or not but even Huntress lullaby has won me games. However, with off the record and distortion being popular, the addons effect can be severely limited on top of having a huge downside. Thats why I say its not an effect that is that strong or particularly good.

    Compared to other iridescent addons in dbd, this is definitely on the lower end. If it stays the same, the rarity should at least change to green.

    I’d love to keep instadown hatchets but change it up to make it more fun to play with/against than “throw hatchet at point blank”, very reminiscent of slingers Iri Coin. I’d remove the hatchet limitation but Hatchets only become instadown when they hit a survivor who is at least 45m away. That’s outside her lullaby, so essentially she has to cross map you. It wouldn’t effect normal chase against her and it would be really hard to proxy camp with the insta down as I don’t think any map has a clear 45m LOS on hooks. Most edge map hooks are protected by some sort of cover and most maps are no longer large enough to clear the 45m requirement on exposed central hooks. The only hook I can think of off the top of my head would be the one in front of main on Gas Haven if you stand of the shack side of the map, but I think the sandwich sign covers it pretty well so a survivor would have to run through the open center of the map or Huntress has to snipe your toes through the small opening in the sign.


    As for Soldier Putee, it would make Huntresses Lullaby universal. Huntress can’t really do stealth because her lullaby is always present and dynamic with her distance from the survivor so it’s still very obvious when she’s coming your way. But also why would I deprive my little survivors of her beautiful song because I’m too far away. It’s like karaoke night.

    Keeping with the stealth add-ons, I’d also change Wooden Fox because she literally ambushes people in the woods. She should have some good stealth add-ons. Keep it as is, but it also silences her lullaby. That’s it, 30s of real stealth after reloading at a locker.
