Map Offerings Should Not Exist Anymore
They ruin the experience for everyone. Both sweaty killer lords or survivors… So yeah, you should consider completely removing map offerings. I'm pretty sure a lot of people want it too.

They're fine. I love beating people that bring me to a map of their choosing. Or when they bring me to RPD or something. Surprise! I'm playing dredge!
Make them iri or something maybe. I dunno. I don't really use them

+1 , tired of Nurse / Blight / Billy putting MacMillan / Azarov key. Or SkullM with indoor map offering. I'm sure killers tired of that too.
Maybe not remove them completely but make that it increase chance to go on the map, not 100%.0 -
I played a RPD offering and it ended up being Singularity. Let's just say that match went up in smoke for us.
I also had a teammate that played an offering for Haddonfield and it ended up being Doctor. That match also went up in smoke.
Sometimes the matches aren't always sweaty and can up backfiring.

I only throw a map offering when I'm playing surv and get like three or four indoors in a row and need to break that up. Rip to the occasional ScratchMirror Myers who wants their Lery's and because of me were looking at corn! 😁

Honestly, I think map offerings, while extremely impactful, aren't the problem, it's the maps themselves. I'd rather players have control over the RNG, especially because I like to go on maps I'm bad at to git gud at them. Plus, it's more important Behavior Work towards fixing the issues with the maps then remove our control over them.

If the survivor team brings a map offering and they aren't ready for it, that is on them.
A good majority of players who burn a map offering have a "plan" and that is why many players like myself do not like map offerings since the map will assumably favor their plan. While they can still open the door to sweaty games, I don't think they're a healthy addition to the game.

I'd really like to know what the logic is behind keeping map offerings. I can't imagine what it is at all. Even for casual players wouldn't you want them to experience a variety of maps?

Casual players wouldn't care either way…that's why they are casual. It's the competitive minded ones who have a problem with it.

Some casuals probably want to do achievements that are related to certain maps, I've seen that reasoning. But that's not a very good reason for everyone else having a hard time with them lol.

I like my occasional Midwich offering for fun, purely because I like Midwich as a map (even after the changes, both sides.) but I agree, map offerings suck.

unfortunately removing map offerings won’t change the fact that most maps in the game are horrifically unbalanced
sure, you won’t get sent to eyrie of crows now, instead you’ll just randomly get bad killer map #1626 and still have a bad time.

While true, it would lower the chances of getting those maps repeatedly.
One time I had 6 Eyrie of Crows offerings in a row, back before the change to the map.

There’s a reason sacrificial ward exists.
whenever nobody is playing a map offering, we generally get the same three or four maps repeatedly, over and over. Yes, different iterations of them but still, it gets boring seeing Coldwind Farms, Autohaven, MacMillan and Crotus Penn over and over. Map offerings are a good way to break that up.
What you’re really saying is you don’t like LOSING and you’re blaming the offerings. As I said, if you don’t want to go to someone else’s map, play the sacrificial ward. The only way that gets canceled out is if four people play the same map. Oh wait, that’s a SWF problem. Funny how it always leads back to that.0 -
Not to interject, but I don't think sacrificial ward is a good enough excuse.
I've been on the receiving end of many survivors using offerings to get an advantage at times where I'm just trying to use BP offerings. If we wanted to bring in losing or winning, wouldn't adapting to a randomly selected map be the bigger show of skill, instead of stacking the odds in your favor regardless of which side you play?

So don’t play the match. Everyone else shouldn’t be restricted from using offerings because you don’t like them. Maybe we should eliminate BP offerings because some killers play like jerks when there’s a bunch of party streamers or anniversary cakes played. Don’t like that idea? Cool then stop complaining and use what is available to you if you don’t want to go to certain maps.

That's also a very poor argument. And it avoids my question entirely.
You can't equate BP offerings and player behavior with using map offerings to give your team clear advantages. Do BP gains change the outcome like map offerings can?

What is your point? Perks and add ons change outcomes should we eliminate those? Again this is about you not liking to lose. That is a personal problem. Maps are only “changing” the outcomes in your head because you’re using them as a straw man. You want to use BP offerings? Do it, but if a map is played 🤷. Otherwise use sacrificial ward.

Obviously not, but maps have a bigger sway on the game than perks, addons, and other offerings. We know this very well, considering the community has hatred for maps like Garden of Joy, Midwich, The Game, Wrecker's Yard and Eyrie of Crows for this specific reason.
And again you're dodging my question, how does randomizing the map pool entirely not benefit skill expression?

i'm equally tired of being sent to erye, badham and the game by survivors. Removing them would be a net win for anyone that just want to enjoy the rng aspect of this game .

How many times are you all being sent to Badman, Eyrie or all those other "survivor sided maps?" Sometimes I think map offerings are as exaggerated as genrush and tunneling.
