How do you counter Singularity?

He can so easily place camera, pretty much almost instantly splitstream you and then endless tp and vault and break all your defences. Even if you have EMP with yourself, you are slowed so he can catch up fast and even if you use it, he can easily just spawn another camera to splitstream you and then repeat.

I feel like unless you play in SWF setting where people can group and help with EMPs and take hits you are just easy tunneled to death and chase time on avarage is less than 30 seconds if you are in the open (majority of maps). What do you do as solo??!

Predrop = fast kick and he is again on you

Not predrop = tp on you / bodyblock the pallet easy catch up you dead

Vault window = fast vault on your on you again / tp after you vault a second later

Stun pallet = free hit

Can't pick up finished EMPs anymore since they take a while before you can take them.

abuse windows and always be ahead of him. Hux's teleport has this weird mechanic where he is always 4 second behind on the teleport. So if you stand still, he'll teleport on top of you but if your moving in straight line, he will always be behind you so as long you plan in advance to vault a window, he will like lose distance.

As long as Hux doesn't break the pallet and hit you in enduring spirit fury style, you almost always have enough time to go the next pallet.

people will tell you to break los as if it's always an option w/ no drawback or as if he has no pods on the map. The guy just spams teleport and there is little to do besides delaying your down by wasting resources. Don't count on solo q teammates to help you with emps either

emps suck with the long time it takes to get one which is already time off gens if you do it the start; the flip side is if you don't do it and find yourself first chase then you're pretty much screwed

use the emps? if you just deny the slipstream hes lost distance+camera disabled, now break LOS and play windows.

You pretty much counter him by existing.

But to be serious, you just do what you usually do. Go from pallet to window to pallet. Anything to avoid going down. Even when you do go down, his infection gets automatically removed. I'd carry an EMP with me at all times if possible, because it delays the use of his power, and can cure teammates as well. They should be doing that for you as well, especially where tunneling is concerned. There's more than enough time to beat him that way.

From his perspective, tunneling or mass slugging is all he's got. Like Nemesis, he's forced to infect and injure as separate actions, in a game where you don't even have time to do enough chases simply injuring. He doesn't even get to use his power half the match because it's all disabled by EMPs. And the EMPs can cure multiple infections and destroy multiple cameras simultaneously, so he's extremely punished for infecting multiple people and placing down cameras. In terms of frustrating killers to play, he's second only to Hag. You have to take advantage of this stuff when facing him, and it's not that hard.

It's not that EMPs take too long to print, it's that you need to manually finish them. I knew that survivor mains were gonna complain about it, but it was a needed change on him since, before the change, it made EMPs too readily available and, therefor, made using his teleports hard to do since everybody would just have EMPs constantly to use.

Here's the problem with this. You're going off the assumption that using resources is always "wasting" them. What are you so afraid of? That you'll need those pallets for later? Because if that's the case, your team was probably a lost cause anyway. If a killer has chased 1-2 survivors for 5 gens, 20% of the pallets should still be in the map, giving easy outs for whoever is still alive by that point, whether it's 2 of them or 4. Pallets are meant to be used. The only way you waste them is if you get hit, and then throw the pallet down anyway, because that wastes your sprint burst.

Bad solo teammates is not an excuse to call a killer OP; too many people do this. And EMPs are literally everywhere all the time, except at the very start of match, which you can still circumvent by pressing the button on the EMP chests. They waste like no time to pick up if you pick them up when they're ready, and they're totally worth it. You can mess up his entire game plan by using 1 well-timed EMP. In fact, you essentially get a free EMP by being hooked, because it gets rid of infection for free. Don't let Singularity have an easy match, because currently there's no good reason why he should. Even experienced Singularity players are stuck on using his pink/purple add-ons, because he needs those to be functional.

OP is a killer main. I don’t think it’s a problem that EMPs need to be completed by survivors but it’s tough to use them efficiently in solo queue. You basically need someone constantly finishing them

The purpose of that change was to 1) make the EMPs not as oppressive to the killer since they made his power not feel rewarding with how easily deniable it was and 2) it's to give him a little slowdown since survivors now have to actually go out of their way to get an EMP and since you need to be tagged to see the printer auras that means you'll mainly only have them when you actually need them rather than constantly always having one. (Plus this change made it so that he isn't immediately revealed to the survivors since his printers are now hidden at the start.)

windows and predropping pallets. and obviously emps.

    Be better in chase.

You dont need comms if he cant catch you. Nothing in his power is guaranteed hit cheese, it's all mindgames & catching up.

Singularity main as well. Hold w, know where your windows and vaults are. Pallets help but windows are better for you against him.

He's not "4 seconds behind", he basically teleports to an invisible marker dragging slightly behind the survivor.

People call it "chainball" and it's a spot on description of how it behaves.

i am trying explain the mechanic to Chocolate_Cosmos who is having trouble vsing him.

you hold-w when he teleports and just as teleport is about to end, if your able vault a window, hux will be just out of range because they nerfed his overclock from 5% to 3% and his overclock duration. you can time out his overclock just as you vault window.

If the bots are anything to go by, their wisdom suggests "never be seen by the Singularity ever."

I wish to ascend to their level someday, but alas my biology holds me back.

  • Azulra

That is actually the point of him is to just never be seen lol. He watches a lot of stuff and you just have to be mindful if he's watching or not technically.

you're explaining it wrong because that's not how it works. it doesnt matter how much time elapses for the teleport position to be determinated, all that matters is survivor movement

I don't really play much vs hux as survivor but every time i do, i escape. when a killer is mediocre, you barely need understand the intricacy of the killer.

sure, but that doesnt mean you should spread misinformation because at some point that knowledge will be crucial.

Just have an EMP handy and hope your teammates are grabbing them as well. Assuming your team does that, he's just a robot with a knife hand having to waste time constantly having to place new cameras to try and re-goop you.

you dont really need coordinated SWF unless singularity is on such exceptional level that having comms is what makes or breaks it.

you moreso need all people in the team to understand what to do against this killer at all times as he can interact with survivors around the map almost simultaneously.

they need to understand how to deal with cameras on gens, when to pick up camped EMPs / avoid cameras and free tags in the open, advanced level would using EMPs to cleanse chased teammate to prolong chases or not getting free slipstream spreads when meeting teammates in order not to feed singu info. On top of having strong chase, ofc.

some people say that's too much of a requirement, I say that's very much fair for a killer that has to earn everything he gets.

    Windows, windows, windows.

Huz can eat pallets for lunch, literally. Even when he vaults a window however that gives you a little distance. The point is to outlast his overclock before dropping the pallet.

I looked all over my controller for this magical button, but nope. I'll try one of the triggers and see how that works out! 😋

Greed pallets, after vaulting a window hug the windows for a few seconds so he teleports to the opposite side and make sure you get those EMPs
