The act of leaving a survivor on the ground (slugging) to lure other survivors.

I’ve noticed a recent surge in slug camping, where killers leave survivors on the ground instead of hooking them. This strategy seems to keep players off the generators effectively. While the goal is to eliminate everyone before the five generators are completed, I’m curious how fun the game can be when you’re just standing in place most of the time. Personally, when I play killer, I usually get 4Ks without using any perks.

i get it's still soloq but it shouldn't take minutes until everyone realizes what's going on. just do all 5 gens against those afk killers and take the 3 escape.

It's to down the person as soon as they get picked up and then get a hit on the rescuer, who had to get off a gen, in the hopes that it was more worthwhile than the alternative. You'd have to hook them, push that teammate off a gen, and hope they gave you an easy chase.

I'm not trying to dictate how other people play the game. I'm explaining the reasons someone might have for disliking going against a particular play style. If you care to read the post I responded to, you'll see I was explaining the problems with that playstyle, is because the person I was responding to was asking what is the problem with that play style.

I could very well point out the irony of you accusing me of dictating how others play because I explained why people dislike one particular play style, while in your second paragraph shaming a particular survivor playstyle. I also find it interesting that in a thread about one particular type of slugging, you took killer players side by defending an entirely different type of slugging by assuming without that evidence that the reason for the killer playstyle was survivors using the playstyle you were shaming.

4k with no perks? You playing with 7 blink nurse?

I do this all the time. Reason it works is that survivors don't bring teammate perks mostly.

I’ve seen this done on stealth killers before

If anything, you could argue that it's proxy camping and depends on the circumstances in the game.

If it's slugging for a 4k, at that point it's best to just let the survivor on the ground die and play for hatch (even if it's boring to go against).

If it's at the beginning of the game, the slugged survivor should move away from where they're downed and recover — the killer won't know where you are unless you stay where you are and at that point, the rest of the survivors should be doing gens with one potentially trying to help you up.

If it's at the middle of the game and the killer is struggling with no hooks, it's understandable for them to deploy slugging as it's a tactic to put pressure onto the survivors for them to get off of the gens.

Now if it's at the end of the game and the killer has everyone slugged and refuses to pick up, causing them to be bled out — it's a toxic move, but again in none of these situations is it considered "camping" or "rescue denial". All of these situations have counterplay via bringing Unbreakable or simply moving. Yes, everyone being slugged at the end of the game is an issue but we're talking about slugging in general here.

No matter how people see it, it’s a viable and effective strategy when you face enemies

One need not destroy one's enemy.

One need only destroy his willingness to engage.
    Sun Tzu

Also with the “I win without perks” not all killers are like you they don’t have the same survivors or builds

survivor gameplay is always boring, you sit on a gen or die, it’s not against the rules and it doesn’t matter if the enemy doesn’t like your strategy. Play how you want and if you shame someone for their play style you’re just another complainer. They bought their game they get to choose how they play . Also chases are overrated, traps are more fun.

I was literally responding to someone who asked what problems people have with it??????

"hey why do people dislike this"

"ok here's why people dislike it"

"how dare you whiners try to force me to play in a certain way"

istg some people come on these forums with the sole purpose of getting into a fight how are people getting mad at me for doing exactly what was asked of me

If you’re getting 4k’s without perks, I hate to break it to you but you are definitely low MMR for sure. Not even people who have 10,000 hours like Otzdarva and True can win a lot without perks.

Bro, I was 4 man slugged by a Hag at 3 gens last night for a full four minutes. No one, not even the Hag got that many BP that match. Sure they got their adept, but it was the most boring gameplay I have ever participated in.

Sure I may be "coping" but being slugged for four minutes straight is just very boring gameplay, I play this game to have fun, not stare at the ground while the killer humps my body for being a streamer.

Yeah, that sucks, but honestly, how often do killers slug all four survivors for the bleedout? Maybe if they were the bulliest of the bully squads, but outside this, its sure pretty rare.

Just out of context, muse about this (as it is a bit whataboutism, I give you that): how often do you experience killers leaving everyone slugged for the whole 4 min? In the same vein, 85% of survivor groups, be they SWFs or randoms, have at least one survivor who will happily waste the killers time till the very last second, just for the off-chance that they might show off their twerking skills and awesome lightshow.

This constant nagging might eventually get to some killers and break them. I have occasionally done so myself, but besides the most outrageous of bullies, I always felt bad afterwards and repented.

I had a game where a Dracula kept 1 person slugged continuously until they bled out from the timer. Every time someone tried to pick them up he would just knock them down again, he would sit and avoid the healing survivor and only hit the slug.

We fixed all the gens but he still managed to kill her doing this when we got to 1 gen, and then NOED got him a 4k when the third survivor went down and he went for the gates.

Now I know there are ways that at least I myself could have gotten out, but it is stuff like this that makes solo survivor so miserable. That killer would probably get destroyed by a SWF that I face but because I am solo I will never be grouped with those 4 man SWFs.

i do that all the time, especially when i have hooked survivor near hook. i don't see much point in hooking 2nd survivor. i rather slug survivor, ignore BT and use hook stage as threat to get 2nd hook. the gameplay in practice allows you to keep pressure and farm hook stages faster if done right.

I suppose at the end of the day we're comparing two different PoV's since your games are, potentially, very different than mine (MMR alone could be the deciding factor here). However, it doesn't change the fact that slugging and baiting are happening more frequently and it's not just me who's been noticing. I saw it in 2v8, and it's been slowly becoming increasingly common. I will grant you the full four-man slug at 5/4 gens for the full bleed-out timer is still incredibly rare, but I've also been left to slug and bleed out when there are not only two generators remaining but also two other survivors as well survivors.
Perhaps the biggest issue is SoloQ and/or Killers over-preparing in anticipation of meeting a "bully squad" which is still fairly common, if only because they can camp pallets and blind with BTL and other perks.

When I play killer, I don't slug unless it's for strategic purposes or to punish bully squads, and even then I don't leave them slugged for long in case of Unbreakable. Mostly because I know how unfun it is to play against a slugging killer, which means if I have to g*mp my own chance at an early win, I will because I want to try and play fair. Even though I know the survivors will take advantage of my being unwilling to play nasty until the end-game when its a free-for-all.

I've noticed this with a lot of Dracula's lately, more than likely new to DbD and picked up the game because they're Castlevania fans, which fair enough, you don't know the culture of DbD it's understandable.

However, the players who just do that to be an #########, no matter who the killer is over the tiniest slight, make it unbearable. I versed a Dracula on the day he went live, all I did was complete one and a half generators, unhook and heal my teammate and looped you in chase for half of a gen. Yet somehow, that warranted me being not only tunnelled out of the game but also BMed on hook.
My brother/sister in Christ, it's ok to be new to Dracula, it's okay to only get 1-2K on an unfamiliar killer. You don't need to win on your first game, take your time and learn, don't be an ass about it. (shameless plug of the clip, but I legitimately have no idea why he was being so rude.) https://www.twitch.tv/brightwulph/clip/TentativeKawaiiStinkbugDansGame-ufsm5EHCu9apXTnw

On this forum, a lot of people use the term "boring" wanting to mean "too difficult" for them. I don't know why, they just do.

This was never meant to be a complaint. I was just curious why people were using that strategy more often. Slugging and baiting, or any form of camping is not fun for me when I play as killer. If it's just to get the 4k, then it is boring. I don't care about rankings; I play for fun.
