Skull Merchant changes are not it (feedback)

Lets list off the changes.

  • Hindered reduced to 5%
  • Removed haste

Right idea, wrong execution.

The issue was SM hindered being 6s, essentially lasting long enough for bad players to get 1 scan and get a down instead of utilising drone rotation to chain the hindered together, thus showing skill expression. More importantly, this removes the reward for individual scans, which reduces her skill ceiling and makes her less fun to play.

What should happen:

  • Hindered increased back to 10%
  • Hindered duration reduced to 3s
  • Haste brought back
    • OR an increase of action speeds by 15%, increasing by 10% for each tracked survivor

Second change:

  • Reduced drone scan line amount to 1 (was 2)

I don't know what the intended idea was with this change. This nerfs her by making drones extremely easy to disarm, and nerfs her trap setting playstyle which is one of her biggest ways to express skill and prediction. It also makes her more RNG reliant about when survivors go into tiles, since you only have 1 scan line to work with now. There is no good reason to only give her 1 scan line, especially since on her drone model she has 2 sensors.

What should happen:

  • This change is reverted in its entirety

Third changes:

  • Drones start in active mode (stealth mode removed?)
  • Drone scan line auras are invisible past 16m

These changes are the only reasonable ones. The removal of stealth mode is clearly directed to make her easier to play against for newer players, which can be good if it was compensated for.

In order to emphasise these changes, the following should happen:

  • Drones have their outer ring removed, making it harder to determine their exact range
  • Drone spin speed should be increased to 90 degrees a second (was 85 degrees/s)

Moreover, a batch of quality of life changes should be done to skull merchant to improve her viability and make her more fun to play. Coming from someone with 14k hours and a P100 sm, the following changes would be greatly appreciated:

  • Survivor scan line immunity should be reduced to 2.15s (was 3s)
    • This change increases her skill ceiling by improving drone rotation and scanning optimisation
  • Increased claw trap duration to 60s
    • This helps her more in the 1v4, and increases the skill ceiling for her macro play.

I list these changes in a state of urgency, because if these changes arent entirely reverted, or if she isnt given an absolute massive amount of buffs, shes still going to be in the gutter in terms of game health and will require another set of changes. I hope these changes can have a second review, and either be reverted, delayed, or expanded upon to get skully into a healthier place, and not a worse one.

Thanks.

I have another idea. Completely revert her kit back to its og state but again survivors will not be scanned by drones when standing still doing actions etc.

I think that reducing the number of drone rays from 2 to 1 is a BIG nerf, and makes her useless. I am happy about drones always being active and scan lines being visible (so you can't be scaned without knowing a ray was there). I like the decrease of the speed difference between Skully and a survivor. I agree though with the OP's proposal of keeping hindered with each scan, where you can show off your skill by rotating the drones.

Reducing the scan line number from 2 is 1 is a big mistake, an overkill. It also renders the yellow addon that decreases the drone rotation speed to 0 useless. I really hope that this nerf specifically doesn't make it to live. If it does, Skully will be trash.

Exact same thing happened to freddy which is the funny part, thats why he used to have 8 snares. His killrate was too high so they nerfed it to 5 lmao.
