Aura reading is out of control
I remeber when i started to play this, in 2018 and we had BBQ and Nurses calling like a most popular and maybe the unique powerfull perks about aura reveal in this game, so now, i think this point is going to out of control. WE have A LOT PERK nad basically nothing u can go against their
Killers
BBQ ( i remeber, always the survivors frequently enter on lockers to avoid that), Awakened Awareness, Darkness Revealed, Eruption, Friends 'til the end, Gearhead, Human Greed ( recent perk), Im all ears ( recent buffed), lethal Pursuer, Nowhere to hide, Predator ( new effect on tomorrow ptb), ultimate weapon, Weave attunement, Zanshin Tactic( new effect on tomorrow ptb).
Survivors
Alert, Eyes of belmont ( recent perk), fogwise, Inner focus ( new effect on tomorrow ptb), Poised ( new effect on tomorrow ptb)
We have other perk less popular than that and here i dont start a discusson about Survivors VS Killer, i just saying, how i supposed to avoid these amout of perk revealing me all the time? i wont sit on the corner every match but, how i can hide sometimes. These aura reading perks are unfair againts soloq, because after killer use 1 time all survivors already knows about what perk they are going against, in soloq killer can a 4 "free" usefull from that perk. I dislike the path where this game follows, the distance between SWF and Soloq after this amout of aura perks and maps changes never was so distant like now, and u can see this, because is soloq is to depressive now and we are on a DC and giving up epidemic, because every soloq is absolutely frustrating. I believe on so much statistc from BHVR, but, i cant trust on Soloq escape VS Squad escapes.

Ok.
Nobody runs awakened awareness. I've never seen it. It's a terrible perk.
Darkness revealed: huntress and trickster run it almost exclusively. Even then it's hampered by the same RNG that harms dredge. Awful perk on every other killer.
Eruption: not really ran due to it hitting the gen regression limit easily. Even then I don't think I've ever actually seen an aura from it.
Friends till the end: pretty good, but you know when your aura is getting read. If you are the obsession get in a locker and count till then. Same as BBQ.
Gearhead: alright but only really useful for mobility killers. For most of the cast seeing a dude on a green halfway across the map isn't really actionable information.
Human greed: tells you when your aura is being read at two random spots on the map. Again it's not useful in addition to being able to be disabled by opening a chest.
I'm all ears: completely fine and again only good on like two killers.
Lethal: one of the most fair perks in the game. Lets you get into an early chase once and needs to be paired with another aura perk. I'd prefer lethal over a stall perk, wouldn't you?
Nowhere to hide is probably the best aura perk in the game. Still, you know when it's in play after the killer zoomin in on your location after kicking a gen
Predator hasn't come off the ptb yet. Even if it does I guarantee you will never see it. 95% of the time if you lose someone in chase you'll just see them again because chase breaks at arbitrary times.
Ultimate weapon is one of the worst perks in the game. Have you seen it since the rework? I haven't.
Weave had it's time in the sun. I have not seen it for weeks. Only works with Franklin's and is easily scoped out by dropping your item at the beginning of the game then shoving it in a corner when it's done.
I don't think Zanshin will come off the ptb unscathed but it'll be pretty good. But do you really want to run it over nowhere to hide?
Survivor aura reading: frankly I don't care. The game is asymmetrical and different perks are strong for different reasons and circumstances on each side. Not really interested in getting into that but asking for equality between the two sides when they're completely different is absurd.
Ah, the inevitable appeal to solo bad. Love it. Everything in the game is stronger vs no good bad solo queue. There's nothing anybody can do about that. If something as inoffensive as an aura perk is making you give up then anything will make you give up. The killer still has to chase you and catch you and you have a lot of potential agency in that part of the game.
Finally it doesn't matter how many aura perks there are in the game. There could be 500 aura perks. It doesn't matter because the killer can only take four. Most killers are hard throwing by taking four aura perks anyway so realistically you're only give have to worry about one or two.

Distortion still shields you from Aura reading, just less often now. It'll probably still be the primary way to prevent your aura from being revealed.
Other aura reading counters you can run are things like Off the Record, Object of Obsession or Boon: Shadow Step.

it doesn't shield you at all. it is pointless.
1 -
It does, in fact, protect you from aura reading.
2 -
It should be like Dead Hard, where you hit E and it activates for, say, 3s. During that window, if your aura is blocked, it stays blocked for the duration of the aura read (assuming it's timed and not a Scratched Mirror or something).
See a hook about to happen, and you think they have BBQ? Burn a token. Killer about to kick a gen, and you think they have NTH? Burn a token.
I would also get rid of the notification that lets you know it worked. That way, it's less useful for SWFs, and it retains the risk/reward aspect of using one "just in case".
It wouldn't work against Nurse's or I'm All Ears which would make it pretty balanced, I think. The new version is just pointless.

distortion shield from in-chase aura reading but the main reason to use current distortion to shield yourself from outside aura sources such as lethal pursuer, nowhere to hide, bbq, flood of rage.
1 -
Distortion starts charged, so it automatically counters Lethal.
It can shield you from any source of Aura reading, it just requires you to enter a chase once to recharge.
2 -
yes which means that it will likely proc multiple times against aura reading abilities inside chase like clown cigar box and I'm all ears but will not help vs detection aura reading threats.
1 -
The problem is there is only 4 perk slots per a player so the amount of aura reading doesn't matter as people will only run the most useful ones anyways.

It'll still protect you from your aura being read regardless. It recharges in chase consistently.

i am saying it protects against wrong type of aura reading. i would sometimes use this perk for nurse but this version of the perk, i'd probably never use. the old distortion which is 3 stacks is better. i think they buffed to 4 stacks at some point.

Fair enough. Needless to say I am thankful its getting changed. Gens pop so fast especially when I play Sadako and it'll be even faster with the new quick gambit buff and corrective action.
0 -
that is only if survivor adopt quick gambit. i don't think the perk will be wild spread. if corrective action is strong, they'll probably change it.
i think only perk you'll see a lot of is blood rush+sprint burst. i know i am going to use it. i am dead hard user but with dead only being usable on after 1st hook, blood rush is like free dead hard with sprint burst. this tells me that they might buff dh.
