so should we expect plague/cenobite nerfs now?

I got the message loud and clear. I will ease on playing Freddy xD

Probably. Why not, right? Make two killers half-decent, make 2 more less than decent in exchange. That's the pattern of DBD.

I still think Plague's iri addons could stand to be toned down. Basekit I think she's fine

They understand that. But their solution to the problem is to punish survivors rather than admit she is a poorly designed addition to the game

Well, survivors could just, at any time, decide to not to play against a certain killer, and they'd just get nerfed. Arbitrarily, with no argument on why the killer is supposedly strong, nothing. They did this with Freddy and Spirit. Now, Skull Merchant for like the 2nd or 3rd time. It's not a good idea to feed into that. And it's very 1-sided. Killers don't like being pressured to tunnel or camp, but they still do it because it's all they've got. Survivors can also use strategies to beat certain killers, but they instead just give up until the killer gets nerfed. That's not an ever-improving playerbase. That's a very noobish and immature playerbase who refuse to improve, who are an anomaly in the gaming space, because they're the only ones who get to act this way and still get catered to. It's embarrassing.

I also think they nerf her due to the massive amount of players giving up against her but we don't really know that, do we? It's just as likely as a nerf because of kill rates. The devs have a history of changing things based on raw numbers.
Either way, the changes they proposed are not good. I'm far from a Skull Merchant fan but giving her the Freddy treatment is not an acceptable solution. Especially considering, that they needed that long to do anything with her and and now Plague and Pinhead are up for changes but not her. So this indicates that she isn't a top priority at least, which for changes this drastic is not a good look.
The funny thing is that these changes don't even adress her actual flaws (other than the haste part). So I would interprete this as a hope that survivors will no longer give up against her because she is now so easy to beat. But that means that playing her will feel pretty awful. Just like Freddy.

You've got the demographics wrong, but that is absolutely what these people do.
I message them every now and then, "Why'd you instantly give up? You screwed over the whole team."
"Shuddup! I do what I want! (angry gargling noises)." Can't give any response which utilizes any logic or coherent thought.
Whatever it takes to get a killer nerfed, which makes their low skill matches easier, that's what they'll do. Asking them to improve or self-reflect offends them, which activates BHVR's "killing with kindness" maternal instincts towards them. The devs protect them and justify their actions no matter what.

I don't see that at all. They're punishing survivors by nerfing her twice? And she's only "badly designed" in that teams of 2 noobs and 2 good players can't beat her, because the noobs don't use strategy or game awareness and will just die or give a free 3-gen. So if being able to beat bad survivors is bad design, piggybacking off of BHVR's MMR being terrible for solo, then sure.

I think Pinhead is fine. Plague I could see getting a love tap not because she's strong(she's insane and has been for years) but because she's a chess killer.

Yes. I almost guarantee they are going to make Pinhead's box completely dogshit. Why, you may ask? Well because something something solo q is terrible, and also survivors love to ######### and whine whenever they have to deal with something that makes them get off of gens for more than 5 seconds.

You misunderstood what I was saying to Aven. By "they" I mean the people Aven is talking about, not the devs. Those people would rather punish survivors with harsher DC penalties or remove the ability to Kobe or simply just force them to keep playing against SM in any way, rather than admit that the problem lies with her design. Her power is easy to use but it's counter is tedious. People can do it but the effort isn't rewarding. We can agree to disagree.

It isn't a matter of admitting the character is poorly designed, my friend. It is a matter of understanding the fact that the proposed solution for the problem is unacceptable.
As a matter of fact, many people who left their feedback regarding the PTB are not SM players, many of them don't even like her. But the idea of gutting her and leaving the character in a terrible state for a year, at best, all for a rework that has a high chance of failing (like Twins and Freddy), doesn't feel right. And it shouldn't feel right, because it shouldn't be done.

I mean bout the only thing that needs to happen to plague is black incense needs to have its effect changed. Perma aura read is broken.

MB MB ive been getting too many 4ks as pallet man recently I'll stop

We're too close to freedom from this post-rework nightmare, not worth risking everything for those sweet 4ks.

yes her kill rates are inflated because of survivors letting go, AND IT IS A BIGGER ISSUE THAN HER ACTUALLY BEING OP. it kinda baffles me how much of a non issue some people see a killer being unbearable to play against.
though i'll say again, they handled the situation very poorly. screw skull merchant, but they shouldn't completely kill a killer for a year.

unpopular opinion, iri seal is fine. it's the only way she gets her power by herself. she doesn't need any other change either other than projectile buffs and fixes. her puke is jank.
pinhead definitely can use an og pain nerf or a rework to the add on, and environmental chain break improvements (bit harder to break) but that's mostly it. it would be so sad if they get heavy nerfs or unnecessary buffs, they are already in a good spot.

original pain just needs to be base kit along with Iridescent Configuration and Impaling Wire.

According to nightlight, in the last 28 days
Cenobite has a 57.68% kill rate. Last time they posted stats in january he had around a 63% kill rate
Plague has a 64.38% kill rate. Last time they posted stats in January she around a 61% kill rate
I imagine some of plague's add-ons are gonna get nerfed (probs the iri that reveals auras when survivors puked. They nerfed it by 2 seconds in the past, but you can effectively revert that with lethal pursuer)
When it comes to pinhead, i do hope he's getting buffs that make his posessed chains more consistent. And they should probably add some of the effects of the iri box and box solve duration add-ons to the basekit, these add-ons make far too much of a difference to the match when used.1 -
This. Without running certain Add-ons it's really hard to get value out of pinhead right now. Not to mention how quickly chain hunts are deactivated against good survivors. Unless you happen to stumble upon your own box chain hunts won't last anymore than 15-20 Seconds. That's assuming survivors Don't find it first.

Well developers making changes based on the data and stats… They could be nerfed.
But don't forget that they could nerf only some addons without touching the powers.

og pain and lament config i definitely don't think so, and i'd go for chain buffs instead of basekit impaling wire especially after a long range chain so his anti loop isn't way too strong.
we are talking here like those changes won't be nerfs but one can only hope lol.

The change to Pig was barely a buff… Her performance barely changed.
Her chase despite being buffed is still pretty bad. She still gets hard countered by pre dropping and shift w. The traps where almost nerfed too much.
This update was almost a nerf to the Pig. The only thing, why I think its a slight buff, is the lack of a nerf to medical file, making the Pig a relatively viable stealth killer now.

Wasn't The nerfs because nobody liked SM as opposed to the high kill rate? If that's true then it'd make more sense to say Xeno, Chucky and Knight would be next
