Reduce aura reading time from Zanchins Tactics
Getting 10 seconds aura reading just because a survivor dropped a single pallet on a chase is insane.
I’m ok with the effect, but the aura reading needs to be reduced to 5 seconds at maximum.

on a shack pallet or jungle gym pallet, the survivor can camp pallets and look for red glow. it doesn't matter that killer has permanent wall-hack. there is no chance you can m1 lunge a survivor before they slide pallet.

You are not gonna use Zanchins on a m1 killer, you will use on killers that have powers that traverse walls, like pyramid head, artist, etc, and these killers having 10 seconds aura is to much in my opinion.

Completly agree, there is no mind-gaming with P-head anymore lol
9 -
Yeah they need to reduce it to 5 seconds.
4 -
Yeah agreed, 10 seconds is too long for how often it can trigger. It should be 4 or 5 seconds

I think this perk completely ruins the core mechanic of dbd which is the mindgame potential in a chase, it shouldn't be existing all.
What's fun and skillfull about taking down a surv when you can wall-hack them and being hand-holded by this perk?8 -
^
Good point.
But we also have troubleshooter which has the same idea, but troubleshooter doesn’t have 10 seconds aura reading like zanchins.
4 -
5 seconds probably won't change much, the main pert that this new rework butchers a lot of mingames which is bad.
Devs incentives players more and more into +W / hard pre-drop playstyle.3 -
Do you feel the same way about the perk Troubleshooter?
1 -
Troubleshooter can get easily countered by just kicking the pallet when the survivor drop it, and you need to drop a pallet, Zanchins you can bloodlust the pallet and you will get an infinite wall hack on the survivor, and lasts 10 seconds, which is huge.

Troubleshooter kills mindgames the same way updated Zanchins Tactics does.
2 -
The difference between the two is Troubeshooter is way worse than Zanchins and the killer can just kick the pallet and you basically get no value at all from Troubleshooter, but, if the killer has zanchis and also break the pallet instantly, they have 10 seconds aura, which they can still have track on the survivor, 10 seconds is to much.

What i don't get about the perk is that it triggers everytime soemone enters a dropped pallet. For example You chase, drop the pallet, get aura, switch tiles, come back and get it again in the same chase. The survivor can't mindgame certain tiles anymore, thus making pallet gyms unplayable and jungle gyms much weaker, most maps already got nerfed into obilivion, we don't need more of that. Additionally, survivors can't counter the perk because they can't destroy pallets themselves and i don't see why they should. My spontaneous ideas woud be:
a) change it to once per chase or apply the effect to the dropper only (meaning you can run to a dropped pallet in a new chase)
b) reveal aura for breaking a pallet (which would be in line to all other aura perks which require to do something)
c) reduce the duration or limit it around the pallet for a short radius thus allowing for mindgames a bit further away2 -
Troubleshooter triggers on pallet drop so survivors will always get value from the perk even if the killer kicks it.
But that also is not why I brought up the perk. If killers having aura reading at pallets is bad for mindgaming, then survivors also shouldn't have aura reading at pallets.

This exactly. Why force the players to run OOO or new distortion just to avoid getting brainlessly aura read at pallets, regardless of how good you are a check spots. You can't checkspot a pyramid head who see's exactly where you are behind a dropped pallet gym. To me it removes the fun in guessing or predicting.

Yes, but Troubleshooter has a 0.60% pick rate because it has counters but above all, being able to see the survivor's aura for some killers is much more advantageous than the opposite.

Agreed. Shouldn't exist.

I don’t think I get any value for seeing the killer for 6 seconds when they break a pallet instantly.

What is fun and skillful about endlessly looping a killer using wall hacks? Maybe they should nerf keys because you can get 30 seconds of wall hacks, 90 with BTL.

I don't think it is.

I am more about 6/7/8 would be fair and then if you want 10 combine with lethal

Just run OoO. You'd essentially have wall hacks too if the killer has zanshin. And you'd see through walls when and where the killer is charging their power. It would go for some good jukes imo. For the people that are like, "I shouldnt have to run one perk to counter another," why do you fight yourselves? I understand ppls frustrations, but I think the devs are intending to inject more diversed perk usage. And I'm here for it. Switching up the perk builds is needed and is why many people love chaos shuffle. The game gets stale seeing the same perks in almost every match imo. Gotta keep things spicy. Hope yall have a great day.

If the devs are going to make it so one specific perk is REQUIRED to even have any chance, then they need to make it basekit. Otherwise that just creates a new meta which Bhvr supposedly does not want. Also OoO is not even as good as many are saying on here, against a stealth killer it can even be an active detriment and essentially a killer perk. I have a feeling the distortion nerf combined with these new aura reading perks might make the giving up problem even worse.

Wallhacks in chase are really boring on both sides. You no longer have to think about what the other side is doing.
This length of time is insane as well, meaning even if you mess up or the survivor could guess your play correctly you can win eventually anyway.0 -
OoO removes any mindgames away from killer. it directly counters the perk. zanshin tactics makes killer mindgames stronger if there is a wall.
wall hack for survivor = remove mind games
wall hack for killer = buffs mindgames for killer.
you would think that each side gaining wall-hack is equal but it is not. survivor has much stronger advantage if they get wall-hacks than killer does. that is why almost all perks for survivor related wall-hacks at loops are extremely extremely limited due power-level.
If BVHR ever made a killer about wall-hacks at loops, that killer would the best mind-game killer in the game. unfortunately, a lot of loops in the game are either safe where survivor can react to what killer does due to checkspots or they're open where survivor can see killer therefore no mind games are possible.

"I shouldnt have to run a perk to counter another." Lol. Distortion entered the chat. Having a dropped pallet at a strong jungle gym or loop is very good for survivor regardless. If the killer breaks, no more aura reading...
Understand that if you run distortion as it is in ptb, and the killer has zanshin, your stack goes away informing you. You leave no scratch marks... leave the loop. And the killer essentially loses you in chase... which is STRONG. Yall gotta start thinking outside the box.
Giving up is because a lot of survs just don't think the match is worth putting in effort. And it's all because the match, perks, killer, map, and every other thing under the sun that isn't an easy win for said survivors. And then these same survivors complain about certain aspects of the game, but never learn the counter play for it because they'd rather go next. A vicious cycle no doubt. These kinds of players are a scourge for this game. Take a break at this point. Lol.
Funny thing, I'm not even a survivor main. Nor do I even have distortion as a perk yet lol. Yall gotta think of utlization of changes instead of thinking about what else to complain about. Have a great day.

Im all ears exists and is meta with pyramid head

Well I am a survivor main after I stopped playing killer because it has gotten so easy. I never use distortion though, like I think I have run it maybe twice ever. Even so I still think this change is a bad idea and will end up causing more problems than it solves. Maybe I am wrong, I hope so, but I don't think so.
As for giving up, I don't condone it, but considering the state of the game can't get too mad about it either. If they took out the ability to do that a lot of survivors would probably stop playing or just do other things to throw the game.
