My critique of skull merchant from the ptb
Skull merchant, a killer liked by some (including myself), and hated by others, but can agree that she needed changes
But the way bhvr did is not the direction she and possibly other killers going forward
Nerfing her drone scan line to just one is way out of line, you're less likely to get scan plays often especially since good survivors can just crouch very easily because of that one scan
Her haste and hindered changes are pretty good changes, but because of her scan line being one, what point is there to her hindered if you're less likely gain a claw trap with these changes
My one gripe I have from all this, is that they're planning on reworking her later on with the nerfs she has going from the ptb
We're seriously going to a direction where they're just gonna nerf her for an upcoming rework
Reworking a killer should never be an ideal change for this killer
Killers like twins, knight and sadako that were reworked were very much disliked by their mains at the time
And why should skull merchant mains be in the line of having one of their mains that they enjoy be reworked while nerfed for the time being
Why should any killer people mained get this sort of treatment without any compensation to make them much enjoyable
My ideal changes what she needed in my opinion is to revert her scanline back to two from each scan line, rework/nerf ultrasonic speaker to be less sufficient as it is currently one of her best brown addons given how fast you can scan survivors live, keep the removal of her haste and hindered reduction since she can no longer catch survivors very quickly but can still injure and track survivors as her main source
These are my feedback on skull merchant, as someone who likes playing her (mostly from her stealth and track ability) I want was best for everyone without needing to just outright nerf her then waiting probably like a year for a rework that nobody would want afterwards, so I hope the feedbacks are actually listened and not have these changes go through live

Even with a second scan line, removing her haste and slashing her hindered makes her garbage. She no longer has any chase power as using the drone or radar is actively hurting her ability to catch people (it resets BL and she has no Haste now to make up for it) and from what I've seen, 5% hindered is a complete non-issue for survivors.
She is a bad M1 killer now and I actually think she is worse than Freddy and Trapper now.

The nerfs to haste and hindered doesn't make her Freddy tier at least to me, depending on the play style I feel like she can live without it
But that's just my opinion though

No she kinda NEEDS haste like badly otherwise she is a literal non threat entirely to injured survivors and scans become completely meaningless unless they result in a claw trap which most of the time isn't going to happen to most survivors (esp in my matches its not uncommon I go an entire match with no claw traps being activated). If her chase is useless to an injured survivor theres not much making her good in any way.

Well, the only conclusion I can say is to remove hindered as a whole if haste should stay
As for scans being meaningless I don't entirely agree, from most of my skull merchant games from live, I've gotten hits and downs just from scans

No, you didn't. Scans/claw traps cannot down survivors, only injure them.

I wasn't talking about scanning downing them, I meant getting downs each time I track survivors when they got scanned,

How did scans result in hits and downs?
Imo I dont even see the reason hindered would have to go since clowns bottles creates a larger speed gap than a claw trapped survivor getting scanned. She needs 3 people to be actively trapped while a survivor gets scanned to create a bigger speed gap than clown can by pressing M20 -
You mean scanning as a whole? I thought it was about using the scans to track survivors to down survivors
As for hindered I honestly can't say for sure honestly, as I don't normally get hindered in my skull merchants games as I tried to avoid giving survivors hindered

Yeah I only really had to use that feature at most twice because no one got scanned outside of chase. My drones were a non factor outside of chase entirely and I needed the radar since I had the survivors in front of me and knew where they were heading, overall scans were extremely useless
