Predator shouldn't activate upon putting a surv in the dying state
Currently on the PTB, when you put a survivor in the dying state, Predator activates. This should not be the case, as the text says "When a survivor escapes a chase" and a survivor hasn't really "escaped a chase" if they get downed by the killer.

It is. We saw a similar bug on PWYF a few years ago where downing the obsession gave back the token lost for hitting them, because "chase ended".

I'm pretty sure that's a bug like with PWYF.
Although I'm not sure why they would need to change it. That is not at all problematic. I guess it would be kind of nice to see the survivor's aura when they glitch around after getting downed but that's it. It doesn't last long enough to help in any other situation. So I think they could keep it this way. If they don't then that's not much of a nerf either.

The issue though is that it puts the perk on cooldown. So if you waste it on a survivor that's on the ground then you're potentially losing it for later when it would actually help you. That's not good.

A 40 seconds cooldown isn't that long. You spend 5 seconds even just picking up and hooking that survivor plus a few more to actually get to that hook and then you need to find another survivors. That's 20 seconds if you're fast.
They could reduce the cooldown by 10 seconds and keep it that way. If they fix it then that's also fine. I just see no issue with showing the aura of that survivor for a brief time. That's all I wanted to point out.

perk has a cooldown, so
edit: you responded to that reply. i think similar perks should work the same way so in its case it should work just like pwyf.

I'm fine either way. I just think it would a nice little quality of life improvement with this perk. But it's no big deal.

yea not a crazy deal but it's for sake of consistency. it was the same thing with distortion; players probably thought "hey both these perks say terror radius but why doesn't stake out recharge in chase while distortion does?"
