There are a few solutions for generators going too fast

Here are a few I have in mind which you can choose from:

  1. Nerf generator perks.
  2. Nerf toolboxes and toolbox addons.
  3. Reduce the time it takes to repair the generators for survivors, and buff the generator perks for killers (Dying Light, Thanatophobia, Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance, Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain, Corrupt Intervention, Deadlock, Dead Man's Switch, Call of Brine, Eruption, Grim Embrace, Hex: Ruin, Hex: Wretched Fate, Oppression, Nowhere to Hide, Overcharge, Pop Goes The Weasel, Surge, Rancor, Thrilling Tremors, Bitter Murmur, Tinkerer, Mindbreaker, Game Afoot, Trail of Torment, Machine Learning, Fire Up, Dragon's Grip, Discordance, Gearhead, Cruel Limits, Coup de Grâce, Unforeseen, Brutal Strength, Bitter Murmur, Undone and Surveillance.)
  4. Give a 30 seconds Corrupt Intervention basekit.
  5. Add another generator in the trial.
  6. Add 5 pistons instead of 4, increasing the time it takes to repair a generator.
  7. Add a huge generator at the middle of the map that takes more time to repair but significantly reward the survivors.
  8. You're not allowed to stack generator perks.
  9. Give survivors a side objective before they can repair a generator e.g. grab a jerrycan, look for a cogwheel or other parts.

We choose option 10. As an aside the pistons are a visual cue only, the number don't affect how short or long the gen takes.

You're close with #9... Survivors just need other alternate objectives to complete. Kind of like killers have to kick open some doors, survivors should need to set up some vault and pallet locations before they're usable.

Imagine the needs to find specific tools to repair one specific gen, like this gen requires tape, the other one requires a screwdriver, etc, all scattered around the map and droppable from survivor to survivor.

This opens new possibilities for tools aura reading perks and collaboration between survivors.

Yeah, I know, I'm asking too much.
