The Entity Is Arachne
I think I might know the true name of our spider God or Goddess I should say, it's Arachne from Greek mythology, supporting evidence well I got a few but there is the most obvious the charms from a few tomes back. I think there was the charm called mother of spiders. Also if you look at her story in Greek myth, she has every reason to be not so sympathetic to the survivors and hate em
Basically because they worship the God's and the gods well mostly one angry Goddess that turned her into a spider.

Interesting idea. Not sure I'd buy into it, but then again nobody knows what this thing actually is anyway. Just observations of characters trying to comprehend it from their very limited understanding.
Benedict reported it's pure evil, but again that's from a human perspective. It may not know what "evil" is, or at least doesn't perceive evil as something we'd know it as. I prefer that mystery. When something is explained, it takes away mystique. Everyone then can have their own headcannon.
