How long till' BHVR finally does something about body blocking?

Just had a game where around the start of the match, me and Sable finished a gen right as Wesker came, he then proceeded to body block her next to the generator for the rest of the match, wasting everybody's time.

How hard is it to implement a system where Survivors lose collision with the Killer when they get crows? I still cannot believe that after 8 years this is still in the game…

Yeah, this absolutely needs to be fixed. When it happens, it is really frustrating. I'll turn the game off the moment the match is over and it destroys any motivation to play DbD for days, sometimes longer.

Yeah, THIS is actually holding the game hostage. If you can proof that it wasn't just for like 10s or so, then its a hostage holding situation and the guy could get punished for that. Like always, its hard to proof unless you got video footage of the situation, but it can be done.

Personally I think (how it was often suggested in the forums) that you should lose colision once you accumulate crows; this easy fix would solve so many situations where you get sandbagged or imprisoned in a room or even when a survivor and a killer somehow work together and block the exit gate switches. Stuff like this has happened in the past, and if the perpetrator would lose colision once the first crows start appearing, well that would solve most of this situations neatly.

Yes, this is against the rules and should be reported. However BHVR still needs to make it to where you lose collision with crows. Stop asking people to put a band aid on the symptom (report for griefing) instead of removing the cause altogether (removing the ability to grief by losing collision)

Why wouldn’t you just do this instead of having peoples matches ruined, then them having to record, then try to send a clip to BHVR and go through this whole process? We all know BHVRs reporting form doesn’t even allow you to upload your video. You gotta upload to your own YouTube acct and send them a link. But the issue of how burdensome the report function is, is another convo.

I'm pretty sure someone would find a way to exploit that.

BHVR only needs to make reporting easier and more accurate (e.g. recording games: it's not that difficult to record the map seed and the movements of everyone for 15 minutes, if even that.)

I mean it wouldn't be too hard to just make a system allowing the survivor to go through the killer for a few seconds if you run into him for idk... 30 seconds or something? That shouldn't be a problem in normal matches and still fix holding people in corners ^^

From what I remember, it's too late to add in a match replay system now, it would have had to been originally coded back in 2016. They'd basically have to recode the game from scratch to add it.

I don't believe it's true. They are using the Unreal Engine (v5.x now, I believe).

Adding a dedicated code recording respective inputs, positions, orientations and activated perks each tick is relatively easy. (They are neatly available in AActor instances)

The amount of generated data may be a bigger issue as they have a massive amount of players on each platforms.

But they would only have to keep the data when a complain is made … which may still be a lot given people complain for bad reasons too.

The tricky part, IMHO, would be the part that plays the recorded match back. That's not trivial, but it remains in the realm of doable.

This is called "taking the game hostage" … he was not progressing the game. You can report that.

I also agree a change like this is well overdue and its baffling that after all these years its not fixed yet.

Come on bHVR you need to up the priority on this.
