Remind me again why people are complaining about the event?
Genuine question, because I've been having a blast when it comes to the event so far, Smoke Grenades on Surv are really fun to mess around with and have gotten me out of a ton of situations already, and Haunts on killer make for really clean double-tap hits when used right, plus the new cosmetics are beautiful, AND each match is highly profitable regardless of who wins, I haven't won a single Surv game but I still get at least 60k BP before any bonuses apply.
Maybe it's just because I stopped taking this casual party game seriously a long time ago and focused more on doing dumb stuff then actually winning and people seem to think the limited time event game mode is meant to be this super well balanced and competitive sweatfest, but I'm really not seeing a reason to complain with this.

I'm the same way and I'm having a blast
Although maybe I just like Throwing Smoke bombs…

My only problem with the event is the sweatlords. Nurses and Blights running full meta builds and slugging and tunneling for that 4K. Oh, and rage-quitters. So the usual DbD problems.
Other than that, I think it's been fun. And I love a good event tome to boost my Rift progress.

Void portals are still a problem. They are effective against some killers more than others and they can sometimes be chained.
Haunt not as fun or applicable as smoke bomb imo. Feels like it's only been working against unaware survivors.
Also slugging in the void especially in the end game is a problem. If you hook you let them go for free so if you want to get a kill in those scenarios you have to slug
I think the event is alright but it definitely has frustrations1 -
No, saying "just dont take it seriously" in response to constructive criticism is a bad take
5 -
Yeah, I don't really understand it either.
I haven't had this much fun with Dead by Daylight since the Old DBD. This event is amazing and I'm loving every second of it.

Portals are impossible to be chained
It takes 3 times longer for survivors to enter a portal

Smoke bombs are great.

I've had it happen. Killer was Blight on Garden of Joy:
My friend, Feng, used a Crystal as we jumped down, and we managed to get her up thanks to the smoke.
Unfortunately Cybil messed up close to the gate and couldn't escape, but this save from the void was awesome.

If the survivor has a decent headstart on you, they can enter a portal early and exit a portal before you catch up to them. Happened a lot to me as Nurse

the event great. behavior did a good job

They do nothing inside the void, just don't follow them and go patrol the gens
4 -
You're just proving my point, if the void is causing you to drop chase then it's making a difference.

I've played several games.
A few with my main, and I got a few "sweatlords". I've wiped their teams, the others got their 8 hooks and the doors.
A few with weak killers, and even when I was obviously not caring (e.g. not even attacking because my RIFT was asking me something else), I got "sweatlords" basically playing alone while I was doing what I needed with the one cool survivor.

Yup. Having a blast playing the event. Doing challenges (I'm done with the 1 page), and killers against me exactly today were just amazing. Like…
"OIII - KILLER MAINS which I went against! If you see this message - I was having a BLAST playing against you - thank you for a great TIME BOIS!!!!"
Alright… Where was I…

Yesterday I had fun. Didn't have many sweaty killers, spent most of it just running around kicking pumpkins and grabbing smoke bombs to play with. Every match everyone had atleast 30k even when dying, exceptions being the few sweaty killer matches. Killers were just going for two hooks on everyone before getting their kills in at the end. Most matches were still a 3k but they were atleast enjoyable. Today killers are just being super sweaty to the point can't enjoy the event bits, it's a bummer. Hoping it's because it's the weekend sweats so maybe by next week it'll be better.

You don't have to take something seriously to find it unfun.
Being instantly hit with a projectile that has no windup or cooldown after use isn't fun, even from the perspective of someone who isn't trying to win.

My main issue is the haunt and M1 at same time killers get, making any chase1/2 the time or less.
6 -
Not really, because your chase is not being dropped in favour of a survivor on a gen

I've played one game, and it was against a quad slowdown killer who barely left a 4 gen and slugged for a 4k in a freaking yearly event trial. I'm good on it. Just my opinion, but the events will always be unplayable to a degree until they limit what people can bring perk-wise. Stop allowing players to ruin these events.
EDIT: gave it one more shot. Hard tunneling killer in the second game. It's not a both sides issue here…
EDIT 2: Lol. Game 3. Meg in default cosmetics is tunneled out at 3 gens and dcs. This is unreal.
EDIT 3: STILL HERE FOR SOME REASON. Game 5. Hard tunneling Demo running Franklin's in the annual Halloween event. I hope things get better for them. Ok, I'm really done for the night.

Since the event is a separate game mode they could do more to curb the increased sweaty play that happens. I would love it if they made it so in event mode you had pre-made class loadouts like in 2v8. Only items/add ons are the event ones and only offerings allowed are the event or BP offerings. People that want normal perk, items and add ons can go play the regular game mode.

Agreed. Also give random survivors DS so players can't fun police players out of event games. This is beyond ridiculous from what I've seen so far in my games. The community shouldn't be able to ruin an event.

Yep killers ruin every event. Tunneling and slugging even with no perks that can counter it are in. On top of when BHVR give killer an even easier time to kill in the event. Killers also always use SWF as a defense to make the 95% of the games populations SoloQ horrid.

More likely then hatch he was farming pumpkins for points.

For real, why not try something "radical" like this for future events? We should make some noice and make BHVR notice and maybe they will give it a try?
The big problem with this is that they would have to come up with loadouts for every killer. On the other hand, maybe it wouldn't be that complicated, as they would only need to give a couple of loadouts for everyone and didn't have to create the secondary shared effects that made the 8v2 loadouts so special.
Heck, I pet we could come up with three decent and fun loadouts for every killer, so the peeps at BHVR should be able to do the same :)

honestly the whole void thing just feels like a waste of time outside of doing the challenges

They should've made it so you keep your void power until you get downed as survivor or stunned as killer, and have it recharge by filling the meter (adjust the amount needed accordingly). As it stands it takes waaaaaay too long to get it once, let alone multiple times a match.
Also the killer power in particular is just kind of boring, but w/e.

Didn't they say for next iteration of 2v8 killers will have a few different basic load outs to choose from, they just won't be able to choose same load out kind of like how on survivor side max of 4 players can have same load out. So in a way they already have a foundation it'd just be a few tweaks to accommodate 1v4 instead of 2v8. Killers right now just have the Blight serum for an add on, maybe create another generic one so they can alternate between the two add ons.

killers ruon everything, survivors are pure innocent saints, is that your morale of the story? If yes, you are the problem

Never said that, just quoting it since a lot more people should use that advice.

Don't forget the tryhard Nemesis players who has extreme tunnel-vision, locked on you at all times.
1 -
Cause some players in the community know how to ruin it for the entire surv side. Constant D/Cs and hook suicide, in Solo Q 1 person does gens while the other 3 ######### around, rats working with the killer to sell you out, and other nefarious jackass behavior.

Because there are some players who are only happy if they get to t-bag the killer at exit gate and get an escape in 100% of their matches. I've also seen amped-up sweatiness on the killer side. The increased level of try-hard on both sides makes events extremely unfun.

I have seen this too much, just from playing the event for one day.
Either you get matched against a comp killer, who plays the tunnel-driving simulator, or you get matched against a comp team who know every tile-RNG per map like the back of their hands, who genrushes you into oblivion before teabagging in the exit gates. The few times this does not happen however, the event is very fun to play.
As killer I go for my 8 hooks, and then I goof off with the survivors, farming as much points as possible.
As survivor, I try to max out my objective score, and then I goof off with the killer. Extra funny if it is Ghost Face with the derpy mask.1
