What Was DBD's Best Chapter?

What I mean for "Best Chapter" is not necessary "Strongest Character/Perks" but moreso how polished the content was, the content feeling fair and balanced, and the concepting feeling well thought out.

For me personally, I think All Things Wicked (Unknown and Sable Ward) was the best Chapter BHVR has ever release.

The Unknown is generally good, dare I say leaning towards strong, but still has a lot of room for playing and counterplay on both sides, and their perks feel alright but definitely not strong, just kind of the middle. Sable Ward is an alright Survivor, their perks are decent but not insanely busted, just overall feeling well rounded. Grenville as a map is alright, it has a huge abundance of pallets but a majority of the pallets are weak to supplement that.

The Concept for the All Things Wicked chapter feels well rounded, the teasers we got we interesting, and didnt give us too much information about the chapter but just enough information to hook players in and create hype for the chapter's release.

To me, All Things Wicked felt pretty well rounded upon it's release and honestly sparked back my enjoyment for the game when it came out.

What about you, what do you think is DBD's best chapter?

By player count its resident evil. It was the highest player count in dbd history and nothing came close to it. Since fnaf is the highest liked tweet dbd has it may beat it

I believe I joined DBD after Curtain Call came out and I played super casually so I didnt pay attention to changes. It was when DBD was free through PS+ and the Scorching Summer BBQ event started.

I still remember my first ever match, I played Trapper on Haddonfield, I was told by a friend that hitting Survivors on hook made the progression bar deplete faster so I just sat in front of the hook and spam swung, I got a lot of hateful messages even after explaining that I was a new player and didnt pick the game back up until after the 5th Year Anniversary had just ended.

Ive heard great things about when Curtain Call came out, I honestly wish I kept playing the game around that time, I missed a lot.

While I wouldn’t say it’s the best, I have to agree that NoES was the one that felt the most special to me. It just felt like a huge new experience.

It’s really sad what happened to Freddy, but it’s also interesting that if you think about it Freddy’s actually had more of an impact on this game than most killers.

He’s one of the main reasons we get a PTB for every chapter now and he’s the reason they are cautious about nerfing every killer after release.

Hopefully he gets some love soon and this chapter can go back to being one of the best!

Stranger Things is just really perfect to me all around and I'm surprised no one's mentioned it yet.

I was thinking about saying Stranger Things since overall the content we got was alright.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I think the map plays better than people say it does, I also like how some of the god pallets are one-sided god pallets so depending on how you run the loop you can make it stronger or weaker. Stuff like this makes the loops feel really thought out since DE thought about directionality of loops and the strength (or lack there of) loops.

The perks were decent, they arent amazing but they are decent enough to consider using. I really dont have much to say about them other than that since they are incredibly basic and feel more in line with General/Universal perks in terms of design and strength.

Demogorgon as a Killer is decent. Plenty of room for playing and counterplaying. Pretty much a staple Killer that I often recommend to new players since they feel overall well-rounded and simple enough to understand on a basic level. Demo can put in work and I consider them to be better than people say but Demo is also a victim of powercreep but it still serviceable enough to be more than viable.

    Chapter 13 - Stranger Things

Will always hold a soft spot for me, everything about it was perfect. Massive turning point for DbD's future to get bigger licenses in the game and at the time, Netflix was top cow

Honorable mention to Chapter 2 - Halloween

Without this chapter, DbD might have died a long time ago nd this was a kickstart to future licences and opened the door to many possibilities

Halloween. For the simple fact it gave Dbd it's first major license. And what a license to get. Iconic slasher killer and final girl in Michael and Laurie.

Put Dbd on the map. Eight years later Michael is still one of the most popular killers.

It was the first Resident Evil chapter imo. We had the absolute biggest amount of players in the game, despite it being a nasty performance mess for a couple of patches after.

I would say Portrait of a Murder. Artist is an excellent killer, her perks are excellent, Jonah is really cool, and his perks are also solid. Whenever someone asks me which chapter they should get first, I recommend this one.

Now if we are talking about vibes and aesthetics, I like Spark of Madness, Roots of Dread, and All Things Wicked.

2018 was probably the best year for dbd, it had some of the most memorable events, lots of great content, and tones of improvements.

And hey, at least you were able to experience part of it :)

    So do I, friend.

Though unfortunately I wasn't here for the release of the chapter. I started playing DBD shortly after Legion's release. And still managed to experience an ANOES chapter that was way better than the one we have today.

It is unlikely that Quentin and Badham will receive further changes, but I think there is hope for Freddy.

I don't know the chapters name i would say be Myers. BVHRs first licensed chapter that really caused DBD popularity to explode.

that sudden reveal where they hosted the stream with a countdown and flipped upside down question mark and showed the trailer was one of the most amazing things ive witnessed in my dbd career.

im sad they didnt do the same for Alien trailer, they just silent dropped it (right when I was telling some people alien fits dbd and who were telling me im wrong LMFAO)
