What would YOU do?

You're the last Survivor alive. You have both wake up, AND sole survivor, so... SHOULD be a fairly easy escape. For some reason, the killer keeps only checking 1 exit gate (the ones where you're at) and is checking the nearby area. You're injured, so it's only a matter of time before your grunts of pain give you away... What do you do?

I guess either go for the other door, or move a distance away and drop a pallet before sneaking back to the gate while the killer looks around the pallet. If neither of those are possible without the killer seeing you, then I'd just go for a chase until I either get downed or the entity takes me.

just do the gate in their face, if they let me go, great, if not oh well. Not wasting my time when that situation is usually in the killer's favor

I would probably try to go to the other door. It is the safest option.

Try to sneak away to the other one.

Normally I’d go to shack and make noise for one last chase.

However. Since I have Wake Up and Sole Survivor then just the other exit gate. The reward of using these perks to their fullest is irresistible.

Plan A. Sneak away to the other one

Plan B. If the killer catches me in the act, drop item and look as innocent as possible

If the EGC hasn't started (you didn't specify) I would look for hatch.

Otherwise I may go to the basement in hope I find some healing just in case.

Then I'll try to find the hatch.

If the EGC has started then I'll go for the other gate and open it right up to before the first light.

Then I may check if the killer isn't coming, then resume the opening and exit.

I would go to the other gate.

Somewhat related… is anyone noticing that both exit gates are spawning on the same wall more often now? There’s no patch note information about this, of course. It seems really strange.

Not really. Even the case I was talking about here had the gates on the polar opposite sides of the map.

do the switch in sections and hope you can hide long enough to get the door open. It’s all you can do.

Reveal myself and go for a chase. More fun.

But if you want to try your hardest to escape, obviously try to sneak away so as to go for hatch or the other gate. But chances are that if the killer is only guarding one gate, they already have some info on you being there, so sneaking away will regularly be tough. Could also have Whispers or Spies.

In general for these 1v1 gate game scenarios a good tip is that you can open the gate partially without it causing a red light to activate, hide and wait out the killer's patrol, and then go and finish the rest of the process. This will increase your chances to be able to open the gate in time. The threshold for the first red light is at 25%, but if your game is in English you can simply open until the progress bar sits between the C and A of "OPEN ESCAPE".

If they're checking the nearby area and aren't leaving the gate, they most likely have Whispers (which I've only seen one person here consider), so sneaking away is honestly out of the question.

Best you could honestly do is wait for them to turn from the gate and search elsewhere and hope Wake Up is enough to get it open before they return.

Just press the open gate button HARDER. It'll speed up the progress, lol.

This is the moment when you stare at the bar trying to use the force to speed it up.

I’m seeing this more lately myself… even on maps where I’d not seen it before (Dead Dog and Toba Landing).

If they're hanging by my gate and won't check the other one, I'm assuming they have Whispers. That, or the other gate is close enough where they have line of sight on both gates. Nothing for it but to go up to the killer and pray the puppy dog eyes work. Good thing I almost always bring my lute.

For this particular case, I was actually the killer. I closed the hatch which had spawned about 10 meters from an exit gate. I assumed the survivor was waiting at an exit gate...and they'd surely would have heard the hatch if they were at THAT one. I didn't have whispers or any similar tracking perk, just some deduction. Found out about the survivors perks after.

Funnily enough, I almost did get it open lol it was only me and Gabriel, and she went for him. He went down a couple of seconds too quick near me and she came straight to me hearing the gate and got a hit. I tried to pick him up with WGLF but she literally got me a split second later 😅
