Nothing worse than DBD crashing at the worst moment possible
So, earlier today I got a daily ritual to kill one survivor as Freddy. I tried to go for Devour Hope because I wanted to use an event offering instead of a Mori... totem barely lasts, of course. Coldwind Farm has some really bad totem spots.
I played the rest of the match and made one hell of an effort to stop those gens, because Freddy. Somehow managed to succeed. But the moment I got Aestri down for the finisher mori, my game crashes.

I know how that feels and it is the worst haha but well done - let’s acknowledge it as you know you did everything your part :)
on a side note, I remember there was this day where I had the ultimate horrible DBD day of basically not escaping for like countless games in a row in soloQ and then finally, FINALLY had a perfect game where I got a few gens done (I think most of the games prior to it were like 4K at 4/5 gens lol), unhooked most of my teammates, saves a few with for the people and got a few slugs up with my boon expo, even lasted 15 seconds in chase (trust me, for me that is practically as rare as a 5 gen chase lol) and got away…
All the way to the exit!

I found it's happened a few times in the past on difficult challenges or adepts that have taken a long time.. It's going to be the perfect match but CRASH moments before completion

Was this in the event game mode? My friend's been having similar crashes since the latest patch.

I feel your pain. There was a Tome challenge to chainsaw 5 survivors with HillBilly and with barely any Billy experience at the time (and on controller) I finally did it. Before David King even hit the floor my game crashed.
I was picturing someone watching all my games, with their hand on a big switch just waiting for my final chainsaw.

Yes, it was. My first crash since the event started, iirc.
To be honest, my dear friend, I actually had good games before that crash.
Generally speaking I was very satisfied with the game before being informed that my favorite killer isn't returning in January. This Haunted by Daylight event is the most fun I've had with the game since the days of Old DBD.

I had one "Dedicated Server not responding" right at the end of the game. Got a 2K, the last Survivor was just out of the Gates and I was wondering why the EGC did not end. Seconds after, I get the "Dedicated Server not responding"; meaning I got 0 points while everyone else got points, since the Survivors were just out before it happend.

As survivor, I've gotten the "Dedicated Server not responding" error after the match had ended for me. I escaped, and then while it was loading the end game screens the error popped up and I didn't get any of the Bloodpoints.
It's happened on multiple occasions and it's maddening. It likes to occur after a good match where there were Bloodpoint offerings, so it feels personal. One of the more recent times it happened there were three flans.

Not that different from my trial, because the other survivors who died still got their points.
Not sure about Aestri, but the others definitely did.
