Why should survivors play this event again?

…Sound occlusion is still massively bugged, and survivors are often completely silent when the chase music is happening. Spirit is a completely different situation, because phase mode allows her to chase survivors without the chase music, so she isn't as affected by the current sound occlusion bug.

It's fun.
It's a change.
Most players are goofing around.
But if you don't like survivors unless the event gives you a massive advantage like last year, then by all means play killer.
6 -
You're confusing win rate with kill rate. They're completely different things lmao
2 -
So as survivor, to make the event item useful you need… a specific perk? Do killers need a specific perk to get use out of the double-tap haunts..?
5 -
I didn’t confuse anything. Peanits says they’re not. That kill rate win rate nonsense is made up by forum killer mains. The devs have said that did NOT come from them, and if they had any kind of a system like that then kill rate = win rate.
6 -
The bug is inconsistent but it hasn’t affected my ability to find survivors in the little smoke. I’m still hearing them. Sometimes they’re silent when healing (without perks like Bite the Bullet, Iron Will, OtR, etc) but otherwise I’m still able to hear them crying—even through walls.

If you genuinely think kill rate is the same as win rate, I'm gonna take a wild guess and say you haven’t been playing that long. Freddy has a 60% kill rate, does that mean he has a 60% win rate and is a good killer? lol
Kill rate is just that: kills. You could play terribly all game and still win at the end because survivors messed around or got too altruistic, or because you had something like Devour Hope or Rancor. On the other hand, you could be winning the whole match, make one mistake at the end, and everyone escapes, giving you a 0% kill rate, even though you played great.
Actual win rate is based on a bunch of things, including kill rate, but looking at kill rate alone (when there are so many factors like perks, map RNG, playstyle, etc.) is just kinda ignorant. And we know this is true because if BHVR saw Kill rate as Win rate, they would be nerfing Freddy who has one of the highest Kill rates, and buffing Nurse and Billy who have the same Kill rate as Trapper and the top 3 worst Kill rates in the game.

lol, I'm just saying I like the damn thing. I feel I use it well with my already staple perk, 'Iron Will'*.
*: Iron Will not required.
I'm not going to start doing the above every time I mention something, just so people can try and put words in my mouth. You don't need anything but some experience.* Why did you even say that? Did you really go immediately to "Iron will must be required!"?
*: Also not required.3 -
The crystal works amazing with Iron Will!
I used it against a Blight on Garden of Joy, and it was the only reason I escaped that chase.
3 -
Useless smoke bomb that hinders you just as much as killer
It would be nice if the smoke bomb silenced Survivor footsteps. Or do the Chucky thing where it spawns sporadic footstep sounds within the radius.
2 -
Or, hear me out, we don't have one sided events. Maybe send the event to ptb for testing and feedback. Hmmm
5 -
the killers are EXTRA EXTRA sweaty in the mode and the smoke bomb is a joke. I play roles 50/50 so yeah I agree, its killer sided heavily when the haunt can literally down a survivor and breaks pallet stalemates. Its sort of a joke
9 -
I mentioned Iron Will because you did… in response to me stating killers can still hear survivors through the smoke.
You don’t have to qualify anything you say. But why would you bring up an unrelated perk to a point I’ve made? That you actually seem to agree with.6 -
Why didn't I think of this? Well, I know what I'm doing tonight

Mentioning a perk doesn't make it 'required'. Your insinuation is what upset me. Its pretty typical on this forum.
Anyway, even without Iron Will, you can hide just as well. The killer has chase music, the smoke sound, and there can be even more sounds around. You just need to be more creative with your bombs I guess. Can't really go much more on this. Experiment… or don't. But Im doing just fine with the smoke bombs.
Good luck in your games! <3

Even had a doctor shock through the bombs. Since i also ran Calm spirit, he still couldn't flush me out :)
Lots of cool perks interact with the mechanics. Lemme know if you find more!

If survivors are too blind to see that they have a huge advantage with the extra pallets and taking a killer away from their objective then they dont deserve it. The event is more survivor sided if anything. The killer has to risk their ojective just to get a chance to shoot a haunt that gets stuck on a hill. There is no way that is killer sided. Survivrors get one shotted by so many perks and skills that a chance of a one shot is nothing to complain about. Its honestly just a skill issue for survivors i guess.

It would be better if Bhvr. balanced the game, but because they either wont or cant they keep ability to "go next" so survivors dont just stop playing the game.
5 -
Were Gonna Live Forever has been my jam this weekend, my Lisa is running around smoke bombing survivors as they go down and if they go down at a pallet the killer thinks i am making a pallet play
But man, that Doctor must have been so confused

If I am honest I am not playing this event, it's the same ole stuff, cosmetics I don't want, they did Mik bad with that silly cat cosmetic, it feels me and blergh and re hashing stuff out there, it does not to me feel very Halloween like, heck among us did a better job in decorations then this once more blue fluid event.
2 -
You play with Friends and this event becomes a survivors wet dream
1 -
The point is it is killer sided if both sides are messing around with the event stuff. Obviously if the killer is just doing that but the survivors just do gens it wont be.
4 -
I'm surprised you don't care for the smoke bombs
0 -
Eh, effort.
0 -
Fair enough. If I see ya in the wild, I'd be more than happy to drop you one after an unhook. I'm like a little squirrel

pinches the cheeks of so…aww well thank you!
1 -
Just because you say it doesn't mean it is.
3 -
Except it's not one-sided survivors got the coolest item in forever that should be base game. Furthermore the general consensus is the void realm is a waste a time for both sides
3 -
If that's the case Survivors are gonna lose their Bs stuff too you ready to balance and lose more stuff for the sake of balancing
2 -
It may be cool but it harms survivors as much as killers (Even more so to survivors when its vs a Nemesis).
0 -
Flashbangs also effect survivors your point? Do you just want 100% visibility inside smoke bombs? Your in 3rd person compared to killers 1st person so survivors already have the advantage.
Plus there's already a busted combo with smokebombs + power struggle and plot twist on a pallet that needs addressing first.
2 -
I more so think it needs to stop Aura in it completely, Stop AI zombies from homing in to survivors in it, and be 50-75% larger so a killer doesn't take 1 step out in .2 a second to see if its the other way. the way it is now it barely covers the small side of an unsafe loop.

Its beyond crazy the benefits the killers get in that realm to the survivors smoke bomb. Looking past the Exhausted and broken and the fact that killers gain undetectable and can still use all powers. But them getting a audio AND visual que that shows you are still in there is insane. I dont understand how they think that's remotely balanced. It removed all incentive to use the feature because the killers gains so much from it and the survivor loses everything. Cant even try to do any sort of interesting play with the smoke bombs or the teleports as the killers just has to see if they get the audio que or the icon next to the name. They really botched it with this one.
6 -
- smoke bombs that are actually very powerful
- killer being in a zone with no objectives where every 1s wasted equals to 1s per survivor on a gen
- strong tiles in void that make up for exhausted status effect
Can yall please ever try to understand core aspects of each side and what is the most important thing to do as each side before making such comments?
2 -
conversely as killer you can counter this by ignoring the realm completely except to get the haunt charges. if survivors waste time in the realm, thats wasted gen time. its no wonder this event is constantly 100-150% BP bonus to survivor role.
This event sucks, I know theres free cosmetics but it sucks. I'll be getting my free items and leaving the event immediately as survivor.
3 -
one survivor wastes 1s in the void, that's 1s of gen time, while other 3 are eventually doing gens.
Killer wastes 1s in the void and it costs them 1s per each survivor on a gen.
Void realm is better for survivors, event mechanic is better for survivors and is quite likely one of the best disengage mechanics that could ever come in dbd.
Event sucks for me only because nobody even does event objectives. Survivors enter the void only if they need smoke bombs for actual optimal purpose, otherwise they just stick to gens and leave. Killers just chase, hook, kill and that's about all.

Voidmaxxing and pumpkinmaxxing for big point number.

Because they know that people want to have joy and fun in this event, so the "bad root" of this community play the event to, just for being awful
