Hacking is out of control

Every killer I see knows exactly where everyone is at all times, and not a single aura reading perk. There HAS to be something you can do to fix this.

Hackers aren't a concern unless their Fog Whisperers are targeted and it raises attention.

I know they do take it seriously. I stumbled upon a forum that was selling subscriptions for hacking. I sent the link to them and they kept me updated. It was mostly aim bot, GPS, and speed ones. For the record I just Google to see if anyone else was having problems with them.

I should note that killers with good game sense can predict likely locations for survs.

First of, i think we are all giving them too much credit by calling them hackers, most of them have bought a tool that makes them able to cheat, so they are nothing but script kiddies that cheat.

That’s all fair, but BHVR could be doing a lot more. For starters, they could encrypt matchmaking data to improve protection against individual targeting. Another big improvement would be server-side validation for player actions. This would help detect any gameplay outside the bounds set by perks and the base game (even if it's slightly delayed to keep gameplay smooth).

A lot of players, myself included, have been asking for this for years. So, why hasn’t BHVR done it yet?

My guess is that it cost money, and there are really no incitement to spend money when you can just release new content every 3 months and get money instead. There are enough players that keep playing the game despite the lack of improvements to the anti cheat.

    You nailed it.

Unfortunately, many players don't understand this or are part of the problem.

I've been playing the game since 2018. There is still no server side validation which is absolutely ridiculous. "It's a neck-and-neck race between devs and hackers..." What good is a new sports car if you don't have fuel to drive it -> No server side validation, for dummies.

It's about money. Skins bring money. Revising the code and implementing server validation costs money. Banned players result in a drop in player numbers.

In-game shop function impaired -> fixed within a few hours
    A game-breaking in-game bug -> fixed in the next patch (1-2 months)

    Facts.

I had a video of a cheater that kept speeding up after pre dropping pallets, and run to the next pallet, over and over. At some point i tricked them and got them downed, now when i tried to pick them up they moved with insane speed, to a new location. I send that recording into bhvr, including an in-game and a website report, i even told them that i had more videos of that cheater if they needed that.. thats between 4-6 months ago now, and no action have been taken against that person still.

If you think they are hacking, report it to bHVR here: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Yes, I have reported a lot of cheaters like this and they will also be banned, no question.

But the thing is, even as an experienced person in this process (I've probably already reported 20+ cheaters in this way with the resulting ban) it takes me an average of 25-30 minutes.

Cut video evidence, remove names, convert, upload, open ticket, copy SteamAppID from prepared file, etc.

The process is probably even easier for the cheater himself. They usually have a cheat subscription with a replacement account guarantee. As long as he pays for the cheat monthly and is banned in the event, he will receive a fresh account.

Thanks to the free Epic Game DBD weekend where bots generated thousands of accounts, no problem.

I don't experience that many cheaters (dunno why people calls these fools hackers, they couldn't hack their way out of a paper bag), I have experienced survivors repeatedly accusing of hacks just because they cant seem to understand game sense/experience makes their movements predictable and their likely location obvious.

Not saying this is the case for OP but I know I have been accused of cheating plenty of times

Some things do be wild - and the blatant cheating of some is hilarious. They dont even try to cover it up with aura reading perks/addons. And it does seem to be a bit worse now than it has been for a while. --- but it's a never ending battle for bhvr. Don't even know if it's as case of which they did lore or whoch they could do more against it

Where there is pc gaming, there will be cheaters.

I doubt there is a popular game alive that has completely stopped cheating.

Why do you cut and convert the video? I just turn on the recording software when I see a cheater and record the rest of the match, they usually show up and then plot that file on youtube and link it in my report, sometimes I give timestamps.

Seems like you are making it overly difficult for yourself.

Sometimes I don't immediately suspect whether it's a scammer and only realize it later, depending on how subtle it is. In some cases where it is obvious, I start the recording manually.
In the subtle cases I use the function Shadow Play to save the last 15 minutes (the match). The file would be too big for that so I have to edit it.

I have my shadowplay set at 1min always, one I see SUS, i just press the button.
