While on the Hook

Fizz
Fizz Member Posts: 71

As both a Killer & Survivor I've noticed that when survivors are on the hook that they like to raise their arms if the killer is camping and while I understand why you folks do it I want to suggest that you do not and the reason for that is all your doing is making the killer think there are other survivors near the hook.

While this could be a good thing if your say a communicating group of 4 and 3 of which are working on gens while the killer thinks they are near the hook what'll happen is when your within a random group is that it'll encourage the killer to camp even more AND your randoms will try to save you which make it easier for the killer.

Honestly, if you dislike camping killers the best way is to punish them for it and one way is to not let them know that survivors are nearby.

That's just my opinion and I know not everyone will share it but I thought I'd put it out there.

If the killer is camping it doesn't really matter whether a survivor is actually nearby or not. They're going to keep searching around the hook regardless of what signs you do or don't give them. Might as well give everyone else a heads up.

True enough however we'll know the killer is camping the second we get within range though. So I feel like it's pointless to give the killer another reason.

Don’t you worry about survivor Morse code, that’s for survivors. You just stand there and camp like you were doing anywayssssssssss. Making up forum lies to try and Jedi mind trick us. If you stayed around long enough to witness the arm flails then odds are you were camping to some measure.

Signals arm flails Bc he’s not leaving.

Fun fact survivors can see signals from any distance as the hooked survivor aura is always available to us.

Okay, kinda expected this response. So the problem is survivors start doing it the moment they are free to do so. All it takes for a killer is to see it once and they'll know someone's nearby. As a Killer, I've both camped and tunneled when the situation has called for it but I was really just trying to be helpful. Do whatever you want to!

I always do it because if the Killer is Camping, I want my teammates to go knock out the generators. If me raising my arms to the hook keeps him there, he's doing exactly what I want. I will take the death, even if I only get 1k BP, and the Killer gets punished for Camping. Enjoy your 8k BP and depip. I just pray everytime that my teammates get the picture and don't just crouch around looking at the ants on the floor the whole time I'm on the hook.

    How I interpret the codes

    quick flailing
1.at the start :means killer is closer dont come.

2.before they go into struggle: hurry you fools come save me.

    slow grab almost attempt
1.Come get me I’m dying you fools

    Just hanging there
    1. I’m getting facecamped hard
    2. I have no idea about signals
    3. Someone is already on their way don’t hook rush

It is a numbers game really.

i just wish there was like a number code that meant
1: leave me,stop standing around so close stimpy you idiot!
    2. Someone save me
    3. Bring the squad if you want a miracle ;)

it would pop above 1,2,or 3 above the hooked survivors aura

But yeah immediate flailing means not safe go do something or just flailing after like 15 seconds  means go do something not safe

    Slow grabs save me

flailing don’t save, not safe, bring squad, do not attempt this alone

just hanging maybe the team will figure it out? I’m just going to assume you’ve accepted your hard facecamped fate and are contemplating your survivor choices or someone is on their way already.

btw kindred is great I love when people run it.

For me I just see the signal as "SURVIVORS NEARBY" but I guess everyone's different and while I'd personally prefer to see this stop I understand why you guys would wanna keep it going, especially if it's a tactical thing.

Who really knows WHAT in the world of the Entity survivors are trying to convey while on the hook?
As Killer: “I don’t know who you’re trying to impress with that flailing...”
As Survivor: “I don’t know what you’re trying to tell me... ‘save me’? ‘Don’t save me’?”

Alright, so here's the objectively correct code:

    Flailing: Killer is near
Not flailing: Killer is not near

Hook gymnastics is a fairly complex language, seeing as how it depends on both verb endings and word order heavily, but many Dwightians who speak hook gymnastics as their first language will tell you proximity of friends SHOULD NOT be relevant.

    ^ This.
I did let so many people to die on hook because they were moving their arms on hook while the killer is at the opposite of the map, nowadays.

Easy 8k BP while watching a youtube video, and who cares about rank anyway?
But lets face it, most of the times survivor throw themselves at the hook because they are bored of doing gens
