It’s Time for Better Security - Let’s Kickstart Dead by Daylight’s Future!
Dear BHVR,
How about kickstarting some security?
One way to address the long-standing security issues in online play could be by stepping up protection measures. For instance, encrypting matchmaking data would help shield players from being individually targeted. Another impactful improvement would be server-side validation for player actions, which could flag any behavior outside the game’s intended limits—even if there's a slight delay to maintain smooth gameplay.
Players like myself have been asking for these changes for years. If limited resources or interest are holding this back, why not consider a Kickstarter campaign? With the community’s support, we could finally see these crucial updates. You could even introduce exclusive rewards for certain donation tiers—such as unique skins for contributions above a certain amount, or themed tiers like Ash, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Iridescent, each with its own one-of-a-kind incentives that could only be earned through Kickstarter.

I mean, you're right about the security issues, but why do we have to donate?
Talented developers of DBD and their managers: Stop for a quarter. Relax. Assess what problems there are with cheating. Work as a big team to assess changes.
Turn the team's attention toward this. ALL the team. Start tracking average running speed of a survivor on a game - is it way above the average? Must be a cheat. Team/killer always dominating on 5 gens? Check this player out, especially if there are reports. Start banning people for reporting normal but annoying gameplay like bagging, slugging, tunneling, etc. Its taking up bandwidth and those children shouldn't be playing a game like this anyway.
Sometimes you have to get your house in order instead of following a doom pact where you HAVE to release something new every quarter. Solid attention to the security improves the game for everyone in the future. There's plenty of stuff for people to buy to offset the lost revenue.

The issue is that none of these necessary improvements seem to be happening. Streamers, for example, are resorting to VPNs just to protect themselves, and that really shouldn’t be necessary.
If the community is willing to pay for better security through crowdfunding, it could be a solution that benefits everyone involved.

Yeah this would be nice, any QoL to make this game safer for the community would be good.
