Key Areas for Dead by Daylight’s Long-Term Growth 📈
To ensure Dead by Daylight’s sustainable growth, BVHR should focus on the following areas:
- Netcode and Synchronization
Improving the netcode and synchronization is essential. There's little more to say—this is critical for a stable and fair gameplay experience. - Matchmaking System (MMR)
The current MMR system isn’t significantly worse than before, but it has lost the elements that once made it fun. About 3-4 years ago, Dead by Daylight offered both a competitive and entertaining experience; now, it fails to fulfill either purpose, impacting the game’s overall enjoyment. - Graphics Engine
Dead by Daylight’s commercial vision doesn’t align with its outdated graphics. If it were a purely competitive game, basic graphics would be acceptable, but that doesn’t seem to be the direction. Upgrading the graphics engine would help maintain a modern and appealing image. - New Content: Items, Loops, and Offerings
After years of having the same items and loops, innovation is needed to break the monotony. Players get bored due to the lack of fresh challenges and new goals, which could be avoided with fresh content that encourages learning and adapting. - Game Mechanics
This game has huge competitive potential, but the desire for balance often removes mechanics that, instead of improving balance, leave the same issues. To harness this potential, the game needs balancing without sacrificing its depth. - New Game Modes (2v8, 1v4, 1v1)
Modes like 2v8, 1v4, and especially 1v1 would add variety to the game. The 1v1 mode, in particular, is a relatively simple addition and would let players focus on looping, one of Dead by Daylight’s most enjoyable elements. A 1v1 looping mode could offer a competitive angle without requiring major structural changes.
With these improvements in netcode, matchmaking, graphics, content, mechanics, and modes, Dead by Daylight can remain relevant and continue scaling over the long term.

SBMM, despite what everyone says or claims, seem to me to be a success and I have not had a single issue with it.
DbD's grahics are absolutely acceptable and anything more would be a waste. I rather see that bHVR maintains performance on older hardware than leave players behind in an ill-fated attempt at graphical fidelity. People who play games for graphical fidelity is not a long-term audience, its impossible keep up with such demands.

I think the real important thing is the new player experience.
People start playing and like it and play for longer and maybe bring friends.
That may make it the MMR which sometimes don´t work well enough.
The other points have time. I also prefer that DbD still runs on older hardware.

SBMM has only gotten me blight blight blight blight blight blight matches ever since it was implemented. I'm at the point if I even win I just die on purpose so I can level out my mmr and make my matches more enjoyable.

Not going to lie ive played the game for like 7.5 years and would still hate to have a 1v1 mode lol and every casual player wouldnt enjoy it either. Take for example people who rarely play killer because they are intimidated by being the 1 player in the spotlight. They would never touch that mode in a million years even if there were rewards tied to it. It would have to be something for only competitive players with nothing specific to earn. Also the game will always have room for improvement in all those aspects, only problem is they are all "free" improvements which the devs would have to spend time and money out of their pockets to improve which is why such things take forever and are rare to see
