Please buff Visionary!

The Perk is decent for its own niche, but it has one severe flaw, which is the cooldown. It prevents you from "chaining" generators, which is what you want if you equip a Perk like this, to see Generators that you need to repair, it's quite shame. But worry not, I'm here to make this Perk very good without changing the main effect at all!

Visionary (OLD)

You see generator's auras within 32 metres.

Anytime a generator is completed, Visionary is disabled for 20/18/16 seconds.

Visionary (NEW)

You see generator's auras within 32 metres.

When you complete a Generator, gain a 10% Haste status effect for 8/9/10 seconds.

The Perk no longer gets disabled when a generator is completed! You also now gain a 10% speed boost to get to your objectives faster and chain generators together! You can also use it to gain a bit of distance on the Killer if they happen to get to a gen when you just repaired it!

I also have an idea to make Visionary into an Exhaustion Perk, which could be a bit funny haha, but not sure how balanced.

Visionary (EXHAUSTION)

You see generator's auras within 32 metres.

When you complete a Generator, gain a 50% Haste status effect for 4 seconds.

Causes the Exhausted status effect for 60/50/40 seconds.

Visionary cannot be used while Exhausted.

I think this would make Visionary a really good Perk! Kinda like if you had Sprint Burst, but you can only use it 5 times a match at max, but the duration is a second longer! Basically pretty similar to my first idea, but a lot more exaggerated!

What do you think about these two ideas?

I think this would be awesome, Especially the exhaustion variant to kind of give it more value. Personally I think it should have a longer duration/faster movement speed so its not contending with sprintburst which does the same thing. It'd make it like a mini adrennaline which is a fun idea.

Yea it probably could use some buffing, I wasn't sure because I didn't wanted to make it too strong in some scenarios haha

Question... is the aura disabled while exhausted? Or just the gen completion speed boost effect?

The only reason I question this buff is it has similar value to Sprint Burst, but is more conditional... in some ways it actually discourages using Visionary since it kinda causes problems for your use of exhaustion perks when you need them with that long cooldown...

Although if it actually stacked with Adrenaline that would be hilarious... casual 200% boost xD

Wouldn't necessarily be a bad move, though I personally liked the idea of Visionary having either or both of: -

    • Shifting aura colour between red to green based on the progress of the gen.
    • Allowing you to see gate handles withing 32m throughout the entire trial.

This gives it a lot of info and a great synergy with Open Handed.

So kinda on the fence personally... making it an haste/exhaustion perk is interesting as an idea, gives it potential value with Poised to Sprint across the map quicklywith no scratch marks... interesting idea either way. 🤔🤔🤔

I would go as far as to remove the exhaustion requirement for it altogether, maybe even give it a map wide aura read. In the end, it requires you to complete a gen for value and that power should absolutely reflect that :D

Why do we even need to use Visionary when Deja Vu exists? Deja Vu highlights the generators that need to get done at any given time to prevent a 3-gen scenario.

visioner is worthless perk after first 250 hours of survivor. it's beginner perk. beginner survivor don't understand that there is head-light polls to find generators. experienced survivors memorize all generator positions on every single map.

the hardest map to memorize gen location is midwich but even that comes with time.

i cannot see any long term version of this perk that makes the perk worth using for experienced player. i think it needs additional effect. my thought would be that visioner allows you to see next skill-check dial's position. In order to not have any fancy UI, the UI would be Visionary buff on bottom.

    The numbers range from 3 to 11. 3 = 3 clock skill-check. 11 = 11 clock skill-check.

your buff encourages survivor to 99% gens in order gain haste in chase. cooldown on the perk is not needed. the scale of the perk should work like empathy. 32/64/92 meters to see aura of generators. the perk need something that a player get an edge outside of being good at the game.

Yeah, Visionary needs its cooldown removed and some secondary effect added. Right now it's just outclassed by Deja Vu, even if they don't do exactly the same thing. The penalty is unnecessary, same as the extra progress lost when missing gen skillchecks with Technician.
