We didn't get a teaser, nor a small trailer, we got absolutely nothing...
Im a bit worried, since good marketing Is what made the difference between all thing wicked and the alien chapter, im a bit afraid they will do the same with the FNAF chapter.
You know, those 40 layoffs are starting to be felt

The shadow drop was a bad surprise :/
I loved the teaser week the developers did for the Unknwon. That was very peak and great. I loved to read the stories and to watch the video material. I felt the love and details they spent in these teasers. Really great and cool.
The shadow drop for this killer feels bad. It feels like the developers don't care too much about this killer and they created her to have something to release this month - you know. I really hope they will don't do this again and do better marketing like they did for Unknown and Alien because this marketing was awfully bad and feels so unloved.

I agree. I was kinda looking forward to the teaser since the marketing for all things wicked was so cool. Like it's weird that they went this route. Was it a time thing? Did they not care? Like why do it this way

this feels more “lets get this ######### done before holidays” linda update

idk every chapter no matter quality still got some form of teaser or tease on what’s to come
This just dropped with no teaser or advertising

I'm perfectly fine with there being no teasers for this chapter.
More often than not, it just leads to people being disappointed and judging by some people's reaction to the latest killer, this would have been no different from the disappointment people had with Skull Merchant and how many believed from the teaser for the Tools of Torment chapter that she was going to be a cyborg killer.

I find the lack of teasers whatsoever a bit underwhelming but I feel that All Things Wicked was a special case that should not be taken as the "standard" if that makes sense. It had by far the best teasers, yes. However, many chapters before had teasers too, and they weren't as cool as All Things Wicked's. But they had teasers nonetheless.
In summary, I think that folks have set their expectations far too high and expect every original chapter to have teasers as cool as All Things Wicked had. Which is a bit too much. But this time we didn't get anything AT ALL and that is disappointing.

I'd say the marketing team for All Things Wicked did their job too well, as it caused expectations to get too high, to the point where what we ended up with could never have lived up to the hype people had.
I still see people to this day being disappointed that The Unknown doesn't have a crawling ability like it's chapter's teasers had lead people to believe.

Skull Merchant would have been a disappointing character whether there were teasers or not. All they had to show off for this chapter was the dog and people would have eaten it up, no issue.

I've got mixed feelings about this chapter. On the one hand, I love the killer design and the lore to bits, and I couldn't be happier about doggo!!! But the power seems really undercooked on two fronts. It's very high skill low reward, like Pinhead but without his passive that often plays the game for him… and it's also very buggy, which is even worse. The dog frequently gets stuck or can't path, especially over height changes, and his hitbox is extremely poor. Many visual connects where the dog misses. At least with Deathslinger, those pinpoint misses made sense.
It doesn't feel like this chapter is ready for release, and when you combo that with the lack of marketing, it almost feels like BHVR expects it to flop. But it's a pity, because trailers could have been amazing here. We've got a violently insane hallucinating torturer pirate lady with a goodboi who may or may not be the Entity in disguise. And a cultist survivor? There was so much they could have done with that.

Perhaps with Skull Merchant specifically, but that doesn't change the fact that teasers sets expectations and more often than not, the final products doesn't live up what people hope for, even just teasing a dog would lead to people being disappointed in some way or form by the chapter itself.
I've seen it far too many times at this point with the community when it comes to something that builds hype because people cannot manage their expectations. Be it chapters, mid chapters or upcoming gameplay changes, hell even the latest ptb killer changes have left some people disappointed because some expected/hoped for more changes to the killers or changes that were more drastic than what they ended up being.
Even with there being no teasers at all, it also just leads to disappointment as demonstrated with this thread.
So again, i'm perfectly fine with there being no teasers for this chapter whatsoever.

This Killer was leaked some time ago, or at least the artwork was. Perhaps they decided (since it was an original chapter) that there wasn't really any point in a build up this time around.

I only have a limited amount of hype so I don't mind rationing some of it for fnaf I need a Lil break anyways grinding for True Form plus 2v8 is coming I don't mind if a chapter is a bit low key

I can't imagine how demoralising it is to have all your work spoiled months in advance, time and time again.
