Scourge Hook: Jagged Compass5
It has been so long since we've had another scourge hook, and this one is amazing.
The reason this perk is so amazing, is because it can spawn more Scourge Hooks. This includes basement hooks. And any new created hooks, do not remove any existing scourge hooks, it adds to them.
After only 4 hooks, all non-basement hooks could be scourge hooks.
Showing the gen with the most progress helps the killer where to apply pressure next, especially with Pop.
This perk can make Scourge builds so much more consistent and from my brief testing, I am in love with it.
Floods of Rage tiggers when the survivor is unhooked from a normal hook due to it being changed to a scourge (I have tested this, it works and it feels great)
This interaction reminds me of when Friends till the End was added and it had synergy with Dying Light. I recognise that that interaction was a bug and not supposed to happen. However, I am praying that they don't change the interaction between Floods and Jagged, as it's not broken or abusable and it gives the perks consistent value.

I forgot to add something that I missed.
It also works with Gift of Pain and it works amazingly well with Hangman's Trick.
The only scourge hook that it works with, but not as good as others is Pain Res.
They managed to buff scourge hooks WITHOUT buffing Pain Res.
They cooked.

IT SPAWNS NEW??? I thought is converts existing one in exchange. Omfg its amazing

NOPE!!
It makes new Scourge Hooks. I am sold on this chapter, FOR THIS PERK ALONE.

Not a fan instead of trying to fix scourge hook rng to be more consistent they force you run another perk

I really like the Perk. Especially when used with pop!

They buffed Scourge Hooks without making Pain Res overwhelming, incredible.
But now I'm confused, does this mean more Pain Res hooks are available now with it and there are more options? Meaning if you force it, you can destroy gens quickly more often up to four times. That's still pretty strong if true.

No it only works the first time you hook a survivor on a scourge hook period

it's interesting especially as a BBQ alternative too

What I mean is, that they made a way to make scourge hooks more reliable and accessible WITHOUT making Pain Res that accessible.
Pain Res still only activates once, but other scourge hooks now have more opportunities to be used
1 -
Well that makes Pain Res useful but not as overwhelmingly strong, and makes others better. It's still a great change.

Yes fixing the scourge hook spawn RNG would be an amazing fix to their reliability and usability, but the main reason we are all happy about this perk is because it can guarantee value out of the weaker scourge hooks without increasing the value of Pain Res too drastically.
It would be like if they found a way to buff killers without buffing the Nurse to the same degree.
It's a perk that requires "setup" and gets stronger as the game goes on while also making your other perks in your loadout "strong" too, and that is what we're happy with. Even if Scourge Hook RNG was fixed and made better, some people would still use this perk if it functioned the same.
If you mix it with Gift of Pain and Floods, you gain more scourge hooks, info when you hook the survivor, info and slowdown when they are unhooked and if you pair it with say Hangman's (unlikely but bear with me), you could potentially get map wide aura reveal when you are carrying a survivor if you have spread the hooks out.
It's the potential that the perk brings that most of us (me included) are excited and happy about.
But like you said, the fix that we should be getting is better hook and scourge hook rng. And better map design.

it also works with floods it's so good

Yeah, I mentioned that in the original.
If you mix Jagged with GoP, Floods and Hangman's. You get almost global aura reading when carrying, aura and slowdown when they are unhooked, and gain information when about where to go next when hooking.
I think this is an amazing perk, I love using it with Xeno.0 -
increasing the value of Pain Res too drastically.
Are you still living in 2022? You can't "increase value" of Pain Res, it is literally limited with tokens. If you mean by that "using perk which you bring into the match and just hope RNG won't make your perk slot empty", then we no doubt should increase this value.
And how about stop pretending that Pain Res is Nurse among perks, even now, after two huge nerfs? With current values the only thing that perk does is compensate you drawbacks of spreading hooks (in case if RNG won't steal it from you in minority cases). Even Oppression can win you more time on killer with good map pressure, so it's time to throw this old bias into thrash can. It's a perk that requires "setup" and gets stronger as the game goes on
No, it's not, lol. SH perks, except PR and Hangmans works only two times on one survivor. I take these perks and expect to have this value. If opportunity to have this value and not just waste it is "getting stronger" for you, well, it's not how it works. The only SH which getting stronger over time with new Jagged Compass is Hangmans and it's still way too far from "map wide aura reveal", maybe only on maps like Midwich by the end of the game. And please don't forget, you just make awful perk not that awful by the price of perkslot, which you can waste on literally any other perk (info, slowdown, chase) AND on top of it second effect doesn't work on hooking on usual hook.

I love this perk, it!s great with floods of rage, gift of pain. I wish Hangmans Trick has more range base so it could be more usefull on other maps than just Midwich. Also, I!m sure it doesnt make basement hooks scourge hook from what I tried on PTB. But I made all Midwich scourges with Hangman and floods, so I saw entire map when carried someone.

It does work on Basement hooks. I did my testing on EoC (Artist map), it only makes the one hook that the survivor is unhooked from the scourge hook, leaving the other 3 regular.
But yeah, it working well with GoP and FoR is what's sold me on it. Hangnman's would be awesome with more range.
