Dead by Daylight Classic should be a game mode.
I just found out that Overwatch 2 is dropping a Overwatch: Classic game mode.
This is coming from someone whom started playing DbD in summer 2018 that haven't experience the old version of the game. I heard alot of….funny shenaniganry and even saw video on how old DbD used to be like. I figure a classic limited event game mode would be a fine addition to DbD, in my opinion. The mode is for those whom have never experienced DbD 1.0 or for those whom want to re-live it.
Y'all welcome to hand out your opinion but I ask to keep it civil. You're also welcome to tell us some funny/good/bad moments from 2016's DbD release if ya like!

Old maps, old movement, old op stuff.
Will be interesting and may here and there spark some appreciation for some improvements made.

There was a time that you could loop around the Cow Tree on Coldwinds or many long fences on Haddonfield that were actual infinites back in the day. You could also permanently break hooks and also self-heal during a pallet stun. I too would like to play again on the classic maps but a couple of things were eliminated for good reason.

Brilliant idea! I think some of the worst elements might need to be removed - 0-hook moris, insta-gen BNP, a bit of map rebalancing to get rid of infinites. But the old maps, old graphics and animations, old powers, no characters or perks past a cutoff date and the old versions of those perks… I'd really love a chance to try that out.

I dont think 2016 DbD should return, and its for the fact that it was full of broken stuff... like broken to the point thatd nobody would play it after like a couple games.
30-40 pallets on every map with no entity blockers and no bloodlust.. actual facecamping with insta hit off hook with no BT.
Id prefer if it was 2018 DbD. 1.9.3 or 2.0.0. part of me wants 2.4.0 just so people can experience just how bad old Legion was though lol

Oh, please. This isn't a suggestion for reverting the whole game back to release in the next balance patch.
This is a request for an optional, alternate game mode to experience things they weren't around to experience. It is a perfectly reasonable request.
Though personally I wouldn't go with 2016 DBD, because that means no Freddy. Late 2017 or early 2018 are better, imho.

part of me wants 2.4.0 just so people can experience just how bad old Legion was though lolWell friend, you know I loved the Old DBD and really want it back, but I think I draw the line here.
Or maybe not because 2.4.0 still has Old Freddy, but I definitely wouldn't play survivor if there was a chance I would have to face Old Legion. Really don't wanna go through that again.

Right, but my point is, you don't want to play that version. You'll play it for like 3 games and realize just how awful it is, and never touch it again. Just watch a video on old DBD to see how broken so many things were,
- BNPs that just finished the gen immediately
- Moris that didn't need a hook to be used
- Killer shack having 2 windows and 1 door.
- Literal infinite loops everywhere.
- 7 blink nurse.
- the list goes on.

Clown's release could be good, but I think that means no Moonlight offerings, which would be unfortunate.

Not everyone cares for balance especially when it regards a game mode and not the base game. A lot people want old DBD as a game mode because they find the unbalanced aspect of it fun.

I'd be down. Would be a solid chance to reflect on how much of a ship of theseus this game is. To think when it first released I was sad there would only ever be three killers. Having Wraith and Hillbilly just suddenly be there when I was under the impression it would just be Trapper from the Alpha footage was crazy on launch day. What a crazy time that was, getting a 4man escape through keys and instamoidering people with Moris. Not on launch day since nobody had grinded enough BP yet, mind you.
But it'd be fun, at least for a little while. My only question be what specific version with which killers available. Old DBD was very finicky with its design.

Moonlight offerings still worked, they just didnt appear in the bloodweb.
I think it was the mid chapter or Spirits release that retired them for good

Old Freddy 's great but Holy ######### old dbd 's kinda terrible.
People overoptimesed the game, so there Is no way all the balance parches don't hit the playerbase like a Trunk.

Not gonna lie going back to 1.0 would sound like the most BORING experience. Just constant double pallets, vaccuum pallets, double window AND pallet jungle gyms making billy the only killer seen. Sure it would be a cool nostalgia trip/experience for the first few days but after that it just becomes meta slop as with fortnite or apex before it. Might not be the most civil comment by some peoples standards but I'd rather take brutal honesty over that.

I agree but not for the reasons you might assume. I've seen so many posts over the years saying how much worse the game has gotten. But I hard disagree. The game is vastly better now. But if they made a game mode that was literally DBD 1.0 then I think players would come to appreciate all the effort that has been put into the game to improve it over the years.

I can imagine people would like to experience DBD Classic (lets say 2016 to 2019) for like a day, then realise that DBD Classic was absolute #########
Take off the rose-tinted glasses, old DBD was awful and the fact that the game is still alive almost 10 years later considering what it was like on launch is nothing short of a miracle

I would love to play Omegablink Nurse again.
Sadly, they'd have to bring back old graphics, old animations, and all that stuff, which is probably not gonna happen. A more realistic option would be adding some key game versions to the "betas" tab on Steam, so people can play and queue in those too. But even then, they probably don’t want anyone playing anything other than the current version of DBD.

I would love my old dead hard and iron will back and beautiful old haddonfield, old dead hard was just chefs kiss when people try using basement trapper, dash through traps lol, so glad I made memories of things like that on my ytd and will forever keep them.
