Please remove or reduce the time lock on Tomes

The time lock is just boring, and it dosnt make me play more, all it does is to make me quit until next one is open.

I remember seeing somebody say there should be a "transition challenge" so you can unlock the next tome early by playing the characters in that tome.

So for the Castlevania tome it would be

    • As Dracula hook 55/ 75/ 100 survivors
    • As Trevor repair 55/ 75/ 100 generators

I liked that idea & it's stuck with me

But what would happen when you finish all four levels of the Tome? Then it'd be one very long break as you wait for the next Tome instead of multiple short breaks.

You kinda explained why the developers do this. The next time you come/when the next level is unlocked, there will be new skins or other fancy stuff like bundles to look for. The idea is also that players don't grind the first two days and then are done with the rift and comeback in three month and miss the hype about new stuff or complain about missing rift stuff. We also often have an event tome during the time like right now we have the Castlevania tome with the Halloween tome, 2v8 tome, and later on with the Holiday tome. So in reality there is often one week where we don't get a new rift page. During this time, we can do older archives. Some players also often don't have the time to finish the new tome level on release and need a few days to play the game again. By releasing everything at once, it feels kinda overwhelming to them and they feel lost, especially when the developers release an event tome a week later. It is also an old fragment when the archives where much more difficult/longer like cleanse 20 totmes, break 50 things or earn 15 iridescent emblems. Nowadays, you often need one match to finish one archive (hook three different survivors, repair one generator, fall from great high as Trevorect).

One idea from me: I think the developers could add a special page that you get when buying the premium rift. In this special page, you can only do archives for the featured characters (for the current one: you have like 10 archives for Trevor and Dracula). This would be helpful to get the exciting stuff sooner and the ones who don't want to buy the premium rift pass, will lose nothing because the featured characters are always behind the premium rift.

It would also be cool if the developers would rework bad/useless offerings (we have so many of them) into extra rift point offerings which gives you more rift points at the of the match.

However, in general the developers do a great job with the rift. The stuff gets better and better and I am happy you no longer have to throw the game for an archive, and the 200 levels show that they are willing to add more.

The amount of time I spend in the game will likely stay the same, maybe even increase if I unlock everything at once, since I'd be playing both the [unlock time] and [my usual DBD fix]. But with the current setup, where it's spread out, I only play the [unlock time], and that spaced-out time also satisfies my “DBD fix.”

I've suggested multiple times that they should rework or remove some of the useless offerings. Some actually end up giving bonuses to the opposition because the game has evolved so much, but the offerings haven’t kept up. There are even killer add-ons that unintentionally benefit survivors, and I think those need a rework too.

That said, I’ll give BHVR credit for adding status effect descriptions to perk tooltips. it’ll make things a lot less complicated, especially for new players.
