I can't go back to 1v4 after 2v8

Any other survivors feel the same? 1v4 just seems so tedious and frustrating compared to 2v8. In 2v8 there's constant excitement, and you get much cooler abilities. It also never feels like games are over in the first 2 minutes like in 1v4, you're able to make a comeback as survivor. I just wish the devs would make 2v8 permanent because it's like an upgraded version of the game.

It’s really nice having a majority of games where it feels impossible to win. Admittedly me and my friend have been playing way more killer then survivor though that being said killer has also been a lot of fun. Could just be because it’s a relatively new game mode and both me and my friend enjoy getting to kill together, but I can certainly say I haven’t had any bad games.

2v8 feels better for you because it's WAY more survivor-sided than 1v4. I played about 10 2v8 matches yesterday and failed to escape once, only because both killers camped me together and prevented closely teammates from unhooking me. I was their only kill.

Everybody is going to have a different opinion about what is "survivor-sided" or "killer-sided". The only thing that really matters is the player count and the survivor-to-killer ratio. If player counts are staying stable or increasing and there are still plenty of killer players willing to play 2v8, then everyone is happy and no reason to adjust either side.

Wrong. There's never been a chill killer match that survivors didn't cause.

I've seen killers having chill matches. They go for really bad chases against good loopers. They kick gens over and over again, knowing that they'll get at least dozens of seconds of uninterrupted regression every time. And they pick perks and add-ons (if any) that you wouldn't catch me dead running. But they win, because you were the only one on your team who knew what you were doing.

I, however, have never experienced such a match. Not since MMR was introduced. My survivors do gens. My survivors know how to loop shack and jungle gyms. My survivors either heal quick, or stay injured all match because they can. A lot of people complaining about "survivor weak/killer OP!" do not do even these things, or don't have teammates that do them. As much as I think survivor is easier, I've never called their wins effortless. But you should have to put in effort to win as survivor.

Survivor is so easy. I agree in 2v8. I played it yesterday as a killer main, and I just sat on gens with the gen class eating potato chips while I power it out.

I know, right? I, for one, don't really ask people for video/picture evidence, because at the end of the day you can tell whether they're in line with reality by what they say. So when they claim "4k using no perks/add-ons, easy, all the time" I know they're lying or exaggerating. Content creators/streamers I watch never have it that easy. Comp players, with nerfed survivors via rules, have never had it that easy. And I've never had it that easy.

Especially now with way more experience, I shouldn't be doing as poorly in matches as I was as a noob in 2019. I even went like 2 years without really using gen regression, because of the Pop nerf in 6.1.0, so all that time was basically me honing my chase. And yet they say, "Just get better at chase, no camping/tunneling/slugging, and you'll just win." That's absolutely not true. I'm having to play harder and harder each patch, for draws or less. Not all the time, but when the game decides to give me decent survivors, that's all the game is: Draw By Default (DBD).

That would be because Guide is so overtuned, it totally undoes any amount of pressure the comeback mechanic can cause.

The Devs dropped the ball. Guide NEEDS a nerf next time, or Killers need some sort of gen control added to their classes basekit, every class, period. Survs have tons of generator progression - they get a comeback mechanic if hooked, they get Guide, they can find toolboxes, gens take less time in 2v8 (less charges). They do not need more. Someone here the other day posted how they are mainly seeing, as Survivor, Killers get maybe 1-4k and that is IT in over 80% of their matches. Over. Eighty. Percent.

That's not 50/50, that's 40/60 Killer to Survivor, which is why it "feels good" to Survivor players. Because gens pop so quickly, Killers are losing more often. Even the meta combo of Nurse and Blight, or Billy and Blight, LOSE when Survivors crank gens hardcore in this mode. The Killers are ENTIRELY at the mercy of the 8 Survivors in the match and legitimately feel like they HAVE to sweat, because just hooking normally, being nice, spreading hooks, loses you the game in the mode. Period. Hooking and spreading hooks is actively punished in this version in a way it just was not last time.

Killers need something to balance this out, the biggest issue with this version of 2v8 is that right now, it feels too much like a 1v4 against a REALLY strong Survivor team. And that just isn't good or healthy for a casual arcade mode.

"I shouldn't be doing as poorly in matches as I was as a noob in 2019. This. This is exactly what it feels like. The game should not be a draw all of the time at 50/50, and this mode proves it. Are you satisfied as a player with a draw? Are you satisfied losing half your team as Survivor? Maybe if it's once in a while… but what if that were every. Single. Game?

And that's why the "it should be 50/50" people are wrong. The game can't ever be 50/50, because it's just not fun to draw or lose every. Single. Game.

Why do you ask everyone about killrates from 1v4 in 2v8, sinkra? As we discussed before, that's irrelevant to the discussion of 2v8 - they're different modes period.

I think you might be looking for an argument, or fishing for a way to dismiss very legitimate complaints about the mode just because you like the mode. Neither are a great look.

Here's a question for you - what is YOUR Killrate? Survival rate? Whatever they are cool - still not relevant to this discussion.

It would be nice if they always had 2v8 up, tbh it's kinda easy but it offsets 1v4 for solo q anyway. It feels like killers are solo q in 2v8 and that is so funny to me.

Feel the same way about 2v8, I definitely prefer it to 1v4. I played 1v4 for the Halloween event and Lights Out, only played long enough to earn the rewards and then stopped playing. With 2v8 I've finished the tome challenges and now am working on old tome challenges. Once 2v8 ends I'll move on to playing something else, if they extend 2v8 like last time I'll stick around to keep playing it.

Sorry, I know I said I was leaving but the OP is just so mind blowingly unwilling to understand that the mode is too Surv sided, I had to come back to the circus to watch the act.

If the only reason you're playing is for 2v8, you don't like DBD… You like WINNING DBD as Survivor.

The reason we have a 60/40 Killer to Surv winrate in 1v4 is because it feels bad when we have a 50/50. That's because a 50% winrate doesn't actually mean you 3-4k or win 50% of the time. It means you get half the Kills most of the time, with a rare 3-4k and the other half of the time you get a 0-1k.

In an asymmetrical 1v4, the 1 HAS to be slightly stronger than the 4... Because the 4 are supposed to have teamwork.

How and where did I make this us vs. them when OP is claiming the game is Killer sided? Is this invisible post in the room with us right now?????

Oh, and deflecting from my question of why my 1v4 kill rates are relevant to 2v8 (they aren't) doesn't stop the question from existing. How are they relevant again?

Do me a solid and stop pinging me.

I feel the complete opposite, 2v8 is incredibly frustrating mostly because I feel that MMR is all but off to ensure fast matchmaking.

I find team mates infuriating, more so than regular solo queue and I deeply dislike being double teamed by killers who individually could not down me at all. It doesn't feel like an upgrade to me as all nuances of the chase and the tension is lost in the chaos.

I will take the extra BP but I will be very happy when this mode is over.

I also feel the opposite. 2v8 can be fun but 1v4 is the superior mode for me.

No not me I love having my ability to loop and not be double tap by both killers like 2.0 knights.

Personally, whilst 2v8 is a lot of fun as doing something different is always welcome, I would always go back to 1v4 and play it more often.

There are some reasons for this; the main one being the restricted class system, rather than the amount of customization there is in the main game. The variety of builds, style and options available for randomness is one of the key enjoyment factors this game offers, whilst 2v8 is much more plain.

Other factors include 2v8 feeling more like a quick thrill than a more engrossing trial, the game feels more cinematic in 1v4, there's a greater challenge in 1v4, and the lack of available Killers (although I realise that won't always be the case).

This isn't a slate of 2v8, as I welcome any new and enjoyable modes to this game, and 2v8 has been a good success, brought more people in or back, and it is a lot of fun. It's just for me, 1v4 is more varied, challenging and a bit moreopen to story-telling.
