2v8 + Free weekend = Getting matched against new players
So my last 5 matches in 1v4 have had at least one new player in them. One of them was even entirely new players. They have no unique perks or prestiges
I theorise that with the new free weekend and 2v8 causing a lack of survivors new players are getting put into lobbies they shouldn't be. This is obviously not a good experience, i worry this is going to turn a lot of people away.
Anyone else having a similar experience?

I am not sure, I haven't played the regular 1v4 in a while. I need points, and 2v8 gives you plenty.
But I wouldn't be surprised if this was happening. Unfortunately, free weekends here don't usually go well.

It is a special Mode so there is no mmr.

I supported mmr because I thought I'd face killers like you more consistently

Well, there is no MMR in the 2v8 mode. But I want good teammates and opponents, not bad ones, and an influx of new players guarantees more bad.
MMR isn't pointless. It just isn't doing its job. Constant mismatches.

What exactly is casual about a mode that's easymode for one side and a stressful experience for the other?

The users I was responding to were complaining that the people they go against, both on the survivor and killer side, are not competetive enough.
Although pubs may be a highly competetive environment for you, they clearly aren't for Daniel and BPMain, so I was giving them advice on how they could get something that might be closer to the experience they want.

Oh, my bad, I thought you meant 2v8. Pubs is definitely more competitive.

idc about new players, but ive seen way too many cheaters and it's kinda meh

I know it sounds terrible to say this, but I knew it was a free weekend before anyone told me just solely based on all the failed skill checks I started seeing in the 2vs8 trials. At the MMR I'm currently at, you seldom see failed skill checks. It's like seeing a unicorn out in the wild. And the entire time, up until now, I was not seeing them. And I feel for those newer players because, sure enough, that failed skill check would bring one or two killers over to down them. At least when I was learning the ropes, I was not getting two teamed by a huntress and a wraith lol.

Yup I've noticed the missed skill checks too lol they don't hang around though haha they bolt and leave me to deal with whoever comes

It's not just a problem with 2v8 or free weekends. I get matched with brand new survivors in normal 1v4 mode all the time, despite having >2,000 hours
