Will we be getting a dev update before Doomed Course comes out on live?
The scheduling with this update has been pretty messy compared to the usual ones and we're long past the time when we would usually get a dev update, so at this point I just wonder if we will be getting one at all?

That's still 2/3 workdays. Remember, BHVR staff doesn't work on weekends.
If anything, that pattern would put it on Monday, actually.wait it is monday mb

I wouldn’t say we’re “long past” it. It usually drops one or two workdays before the release. Given the release is on Thursday, I’d assume it drops on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The last 10 dev updates or so all came out on Thursday before the actual patches came out, which is 5-6 days of a gap

I remeber Dev Updates being on the first week of every month. Now is a "SUPRISE! HERE THE PTB!"

This literally happened just once, which is weird but devs could have their reasons. Now if that becomes a trend then we should get worried.

If not today then tommorow. If we don't get ANY update on PTB changes then they should at least give us an explanation.

Peanits stepped away from the CM role a month ago. I'd expect official comms to be a little different going forward since the vast majority of the dev update blogs were posted by him.
The lack of marketing for Doomed Course might be able to be traced back to the 95 lay offs (including the All Things Wicked marketing people) that happened back in June, but I'd put money on there being a better explanation out there that's being kept close to the chest.
Personally I just hope no one at BHVR was affected by the riots that just went down in Montreal over the weekend.

The devs said the update was a surprise. Likely so they could enjoy the holidays with their families so they released it early for us.
I hope we get a developer update today or tomorrow.

Foe themselves yes, but they had no intention on marketing it as much as like for say “Vecnas Chapter”
Mandy had mentioned it was a surprise chapter they wanted to drop for us.
Likely so they can enjoy the holidays with their families.
