The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

I feel like now that Houndmaster Knotted robe got nerfed. Nobody is excited for Houndmaster

The singular change is bigger nerf than all 4 buffs she received. I suspect this killer will see play for 1-2 days and than nobody will play Houndmaster because she offers nothing to the table while being unrewarding to play.

Thoughts?

Everyone knew it was gonna get nerfed before it hit live servers, the only question was by how much. I still think she's gonna see some usage, it's just this addon isn't going to have people make builds around it.

If anything will hold Houndmaster back, it will be the jankiness and inconsistency of her own power. If Search still doesn't find survivors and if Chase still gets stuck on every errant piece of map geometry and passes through survivors, then it doesn't matter how good or bad her add-ons are because they'll be attached to a piece of useless junk.

It hasn't affected my excitement. A killer's power is, above all else, the main draw for me, one addon doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things otherwise I'd be rioting in the streets over iri tape. Anyways, I'm somewhat excited, her power seems pretty interesting, and I'm also interested in seeing how the rest of her changes affect her and how she feels on controller.

Which is sad. 40% was obviously too much, but why SHOULDN'T killers have addons that people can make builds around? If anything every addon should be strong enough to justify creating a build around and would create more unique strategies for each killer. Instead every kill always takes the "strongest" 2 addons every game and the same 6-8 perks and every game is the same.

Agreed however its not just not just this game every pvp game seriously with this list mind set foolishness. Anything can be good in the right hands if the person who uses the character even if its only a small % and that is more respectable when you play the so call joke character and whop the best character lol.

because of backlash. the player-base backlash when a killer has a unique strength that exists within the game rules. I suspect that landing dog and re-direct will be unrewarding. a high risk move that loses you distance on killer that has a low reward. When billy curves with his chainsaw, he gets an instant down and than this killer gets like a hit and it has a cooldown. Chase dog could be instant down with 0 cooldown and it will still be worse then billy. /shrug.

My suspected the killer will be labeled as woke and will not receive much play. I had lots of fun playing vs killer as survivor. She is fun to loop but i cannot see killer players having much fun playing vs me.

It's unfortunate, but it was destined to be nerfed.

    Honestly, I semi-agree with you.

The changes she got are good, but she needs more.

However, she has few good add-ons even without Knotted Rope.

No offense but anyone with reason would have expected this to get nerfed. Insane for an add-on in general and even moreso for a yellow add-on.

10% is still quite good that makes your cooldown from 2.7 to 2.43. This makes much more sense for an add-on.

it wasnt a mini stbfl, it was a full normal sized stbfl without a drawback.

actual stbfl+this addon made her into a 2 tap monster.

    good riddance they nerfed it.

Yes, I said that. It's a mini STBFL now, at 10%. It wasn't before.

I don't really care, I didn't bother using it on the PtB because it was obviously busted.

I've wanted a houndmaster killer for a long time and I think the way BHVR implemented it is fine so I've saved up the iri shards for her. What will determine if I actually enjoy and possibly main the killer is how easy it is to target gens with search mode. In the PtB it was horribly inconsistent and I fight like I was fighting the controls more than I was playing killer. If they fixed that and we have a killer with excellent map presence and mobility that can reliably bother survivors on distant gens that's all I really need to scratch that itch for macro play that I enjoy.

That's fair, I think B tier is a good solid place to be at. C and A are also fine, just not too far to S or D.

I feel like Houndmaster was never intended to be a high tier Killer, she's meant to be fun. Sometimes, Killers are allowed to just be fun. Not everyone has to be an A tier, it's okay for her to be C or B tier - and I'm sure some dedicated Houndmaster Main will find a way to make her into an A tier in the right circumstances.

Tierlists are for comp, anyway, and DBD has been trying to push in a slightly more "let's have fun" direction for about a year now. If the Devs just changed things like MMR and Emblems to match this more chill idea, we'd be fine. The issue is they haven't yet.

Reading the update it's sounds like they did fix your concerns plus her search patch speed got massively buffed so she be able to pressure gens reliability

Im excited for her but I am concern how easy she is to pick up. I'm personally enjoy killers who have a mid level skill floor. I don't really worry about a killer's skill ceiling bc I know I'll never get to it. I just want to have the ability to pick up the killer learn their power fairly quickly and have fun with them. The last few killers for me has been great disappointments. The last killer had actually fun learning was Xeno. Chucky I didn't like bc I don't care for dash killers, unknown I hated their bouncing orb mech and found it hard to use, lich was cool but was the start of muilt power killers which I hate, and dark Lord same reason for lich, he a muilt power killer who power just doesn't interest me. The only power dark lord has I like is wolf but it's so weak compared to his other tools. So yeah I'm dieing for a new killer to enjoy. It been so loy :<

This is what gave us Skull Merchant. Simply hoping that the character with terrible design and aesthetic gets a following.
