Can we all agree that the Houndmaster is a heavily flawed Killer?

The Houndmaster was a killer I was already very skeptical of in the PTB. I felt that no matter what buffs she got, she'd still be a low-tier Killer. Lo and behold, after the chapter releases and I get to play her I'm not surprised in the slightest, unfortunately. Snug's chase is so, so wildly inconsistent and mediocre it makes me question how the devs thought it was ok. Snug barely feels he can pull survivors towards you, and on top of that, he manages to also be one of DBD's buggiest powers meaning your not just fighting the survivors in a match, but also praying that snug doesn't for whatever reason decide to spaz out and not work. Snug's Search on the other hand while feeling better still feels really, really strange. Many times when you send him off somewhere to search it feels like the path he creates is just not where you want it to be, especially when it comes to multi-floor maps like Gideons. Speaking of indoor maps, you might as well be an M1 killer on all of them because it is very apparent the devs did not consider how he would work in a place like Lerys.

Overall I'm just kinda disappointed but not surprised. DBD personally for me and many others it seems like has been going through yet another rough patch, so I was hoping this Killer would bring me back to the game. Unfortunately, it looks like I'll just have to wait for Freddy's rework because this Killer's design feels so flawed I don't think she's ever gonna be anything other than a C-tier Killer.

Basically only build where I kinda had fun is Knotted Rope, Rapid Brutality, STBFL build.
Almost never even try to go for redirection hits (unless survivor is in corner and can't run away).

That massive slowdown whenever she cancels power is highly annoying (often happened to me I used wrong call). I get it on chase, but why is this on search command too?

Give at least 1 second lingering for that haste, the dog is doing zig zag motion, he is not going shortest path to the gen, so it's not really that good neither.

Also for some reason, the dog often doesn't pull survivor to me, they just wait in a spot, or go away from me.

Worst chapter by far. She isnt even fun for me to use. The dog is so crappy in so many ways. god forbid a jacked dog like snug can figure out a fall from ANY elevation. Its too buggy and frustrating to enjoy. Snug takes the longest and awkward paths possible, especially in RPD. Had him run DOWN the stairs to go up another set becasue ya know…hallway scary. Youd think the dog would at least bite survivors who cross his path on the way back too. and god forbid a survivor pre drops a pallet, the dog can figure out how to jump over one thats already on the ground but not one thats dropped mid chase. As survivor…I love it cuz I win almost every match against her.

The chapter release trophies are awful too and so grindy. fall a total of 1000 meters as killer? or the taurie trophies that all revolve around being broken. gonna have to run no-mither just to get it done faster.

Plz dbd devs. No more AI killers on them till the coding is half-way decent. You can juke a knight phantom just by touching a window and running away

I hope Sung gets the nemesis treatment, where the AI becomes significantly better as times goes on.

Nemesis' zombies are 10 better than release, since they literally never get stuck unlike release nemesis, and have much better pathfinding.

However, when the main power revolves around an AI... Yeah, it will probably take months untill she's playable.

She reunited every single bad things this game has. She is weak, completely bugged, the dog looks a photo around the killer and she is not fun to play as and against, shes terrible in all aspects. just her aesthetics saves her.

I think it's too early to tell how strong she is balance wise, because of her high skill ceiling. But she definitely has bugs that make her weaker than she should be, those need to be fixed.

actually search mode is only good aspect of killer right now. what i do with houndmaster is i actively avoid using her dog line attack and only spam search.

I put search 10 meter ahead of me and just walk across line. when I get near a survivor, i purposely avoid entering chase and i use search command to gain haste than i moonwalk backwards with the haste to catch-up the survivor.

the killer is literally more powerful by staying out of chase and using search as catch-up tool than using actual chase tool. it's silly.

I would agree that it is too early to tell how strong or weak she is. I think she is at least decent, she is not a bad Killer at all.

However, what I can already tell is that she is not really fun to play for me. And while I faced a lot of Houndmasters today (way more than previous Killer-releases), I dont really think she will be that popular after a few days, because she is kinda boring to play.

This is kinda what I feared his search path being used in chase instead of a Gen pressure tool I fear devs are gonna tweak it so it can't be used within a certain range

they already have mechanic where you lose haste bonus for being in the chase so i am forced to moonwalk for the power.

play 7 matches and won almost all of them vs the hound master (beside 1 teammate dc on down instantly game) . Her aesthetic isn't bad to me but her gameplay terrible. The dog very awkward to loop. The dog randomly flying out of frame in chase to the point u don't even know when/where you should be dodging. Snug often can be right on top of someone and not grab them from a survivor prospective. It just look bad in my opinion. Haven't play her but she don't look simple at all which is good. People obviously learning still so i don't wanna say much more.

The hitbox needs to be increased and the collision detection reduced

That's definitely fair. I could see many people not having that much fun with her. But I for one actually enjoyed my time with her quite a bit, I like her gameplay personally. It's just her bugs that already got under my skin a bit.
