Does anyone else stop using certain killer/perks preemptively when they announce changes for them

Ive done this all the time in other games too. In rainbow six siege the defenders used to have acogs until they announced that in a month they were going to take them away. I stopped using the acog because i knew the fun i was having was on borrowed time so i got used to holo. When ultimate weapon was announced for some changes I stopped using it as my only info perk because in 2 months it was going to be useless ( and it was ) also when they announced the wolf tech on dracula was getting patched very soon i stopped using it to get my hits because what's the point if its not going to be here in a week. I guess I voluntary stop using stuff before I'm forced too. Today I was playing freddy and getting destroyed ( which is the usual so nothing uncommon) but I didnt want to try to get better anymore like usual. I guess my logic is what's the point of playing freddy and trying to get better when I know that in a month or so there going to be major rework probably changing how the character plays entirely. I stopped using Perks like OG Weave and buffed thrill of the hunt in the very beginning when they were added/changed because i knew that it was going to get nerfed. Kinda sucks that perks/things come out and are nerfed because of lack of playtesting makes any other iteration of the perk bad even if its not. Do you guys do this too or no

Not really, though thats because, in most cases, I'm using perks that either rarely get changed, or need buffs (I play niche styles)

Only if I don't like the perk.

Most of the big changes never affected me anyway because I dislike using anything too busted or broken. I didn't combo FTP+BU, I didn't use MFT, I didn't combo gen hold in the 3gen era, and I am not using TotH until it's fixed. I still win most of my games without needing that.

No, nothing that comes to mind. The devs could remove every single perk in the game and I'd be fine playing perkless. If anything, I'd probably just get better at the game alot quicker. I've played Chucky (well, Tiffany) since his release and even though he's had a couple nerfs/adjustments, I havent stopped playing. The only thing that stops me playing something is simply if I stop enjoying it.

Nah, moreso the opposite, I try to have some more fun with it before it gets nerfed instead.

    Not really.

Pre-emptively avoiding things that have announced changes only really makes sense if you assume the thing is very likely to be worthless after said changes, which doesn't happen very often. It's usually a fair assumption the thing will still be worthwhile afterwards.

Plus, it also assumes the changes will be nerfs, which isn't always the case.

Well, I stopped playing Dracula when they announced his nerfs because I assumed they'll destroy him. But I'm glad I was mistaken. The Hellfire Nerf is still stupid and unnecessary though.

ultimate weapon was nerfed mega hard. Sucks too it was a cool perk. I used that for a while as my only tracking perk

That's only one example, though, not the norm.

I also think Ultimate Weapon was massively overhyped from the start, but that's neither here or there in this context.

    No.

I've been addicted to Stbfl ever since I got Michael and have not deequipped it ever since.

The only time I got off something I enjoy was Sadako after her first rework. I gave her over a month to convince me but she absolutely didn't. Glad they revisited her.

I'm constantly shifting my build anyway so I never get too comfortable with any particular perk or playstyle, so I'm never too attached to any perk.

I suppose I do stop playing perks that are about to change via nerf subconsciously, mostly out not seeing the point of putting some miles on it when whatever value I will see/learn will be made obsolete soon anyway.

Well weave is kinda butt. I dont use it anymore. I also don't use distortion anymore I stopped using it when it was on the roadmap to get used to not relaying on it since its gutted but I understand why it was nerfed. Its pretty common for perks to go from god tier to trash in one patch.

Yeah im not putting anymore miles on freddy at the moment. I bet his rework will have some of his current kit but most likely going to play completely different

Weave and Distortion are two good examples of perks that were nerfed in such a way that they're not trash now.

Weave slightly less so, granted, but that perk still has its use cases. Distortion, though, is just flat out still a good perk, no two ways about it.

Most perks are still perfectly worthwhile after they're nerfed, overall. There are exceptions here and there, but for the most part things don't really stop being viable just because they were nerfed.

Idk why they touched the aura radius on weave if they can see their items. COB and ruin are pretty bad but it was because they were part of a past meta that behavior didnt like. I think ruin should go to 200% and COB to get a buff of some kind since you can only kick the gen 8 times
