Easy fix for hexes
This isn’t a perfect solution but it could help with some totems. It should be to where the specific hex totem doesn’t activate until the requirement of the perk is met.
Example if you have Ruin at the start of the game all 5 totems will be dull. If a survivor stops repairing a Gen one of the random totems will become a hex and apply the effects like normal. It could be so simple
- Third seal activates after hitting the first survivor
- Ruin after a survivor stops repairing
- Devour hope after a survivor is unhooked
- Lullaby after the first person is hooked
- haunted grounds spawn by default
- Thrill spawn by default
- retribution spawn by default
- Undying spawn by default
- Blood favor after you injure someone
- Crowd control after a survivor vaults a window
- Plaything same as is
- Pentimento same as is
- face the darkness same as is
- two can play same as is(with some buffs)
- Wretched fate same as is
Little changes like this would actually make hex’s worth something cause they won’t get cleansed early & they naturally activate as you play the game. Would you want this to be added?

You've been around long enough to have seen this suggested 20 or so times.

I’ve been here since 2019

I have a better solution, at the beginning of the trial all totems will be dull totems for 32 seconds, if the killer uses any Hex perks and after 32 seconds a random totem will be chosen to become a Hex totem and the killer will be notified of the location of Hex totem.

if your hex gets cleansed early, try equipping hex:undying, you'll get second chance at your hex. they won't change hexes, you have to equip the plaster fix perk to make them worthwhile.

I don't think we should be looking at 'one size fits all' type solutions for this, because those are what killed boons and invocations.
Some hexes need one type of buff, others need another. Every hex needs its own solution.

Literally yes this

Not a bad idea at all

Ive always wanted totems to become lit once every Survivor is cursed by said hex
There would be a few exceptions though, like Plaything

Totems are weak because most people have played the game so long the vast majority of totem spawns are very predictable. You don't even need to see them...most totems I find cause I hear them crackling with my headset.
Its common knowledge that totems never spawn too close together. There is 1 totem in every section of the map. There will be one hidden in the middle and 1 in each corner quadrant. Totems are weak to game knowledge and that can't be fixed.
