Houndmaster is not the new scamper killer and we should have another Higher tier killer in the game

YouTubers want views

Twitter user want engagement

And people generally don't like strong killers, that's why they're saying this

Most of these clips I see are of snug getting grabs at vaults that other killers also could have gotten as well, like deathslinger and pyramid head etc…

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying she's weak anymore, she's pretty good now but is she so good that she big nerfs? No, at all

She was an C tier killer on release and a D tier on PTB

Now that she's actually viable, people seem to want her to be gutted

Survivors IMO Really don't like when new and old killers and made to be A tier and would be more than happy with every killer being made into C tier and low B tier

My only question is why should hound master get nerfed when she pretty much is only a CHASE killer, she doesn't have a lot of macro options like the other top tier killers do

Like blight spirit billy nurse oni artist pyramid head singularity you name have better map control and better chase too depending on the map/skill of the killer and way better 4v1 options when hound master really only has a good chase

My wish is that when they do most likely nerf her because of whiners that they seem to listen to quite a bit that they take it slow and adjust things reasonably instead of just dumping 3057 nerfs on her in one patch like they do with a lot of killers

Ah sorry about that, dont worry though cause honestly I see her as ok but much weaker pinhead, snug isnt too hard to juke unless its some annoying map like trashwich elementary school. Too me shes fine and balanced with plenty of counters I admit.

Worry not remember its REDDIT after all that site is full of baloney, not only for dbd but any game I notice. Hence I just always use any offical game forums over them. There far more killers on my hate list and sh houndmaster is not one of them.

I saw a post or two today. Ridiculous, really. A solid bush is still enough to stop Snug and Houndsense still does next to zero.

It probably feels S Tier to people already playing Houndmaster because its much more smooth and responsive to order the dog.

I think the more interesting thing is builds, or more specifically the variety of builds with all these ones that claim how strong she is. That there isn't any consistent perk being used, at most people seem to be gravitating towards Barley Meal as one of her add-ons.

Well said this is the key thing that people seem to not understand hence why again tier list sometimes is pointless in games.

Give me a nurse even a good one over many other killers I find far more annoying than her like no counter play spirit as an example.

I dont care about iron will buffed back cause good spirits still will find you with it and its not everyone love playing with headphones on, I do sometimes but rather hear my surround sound system.

I haven't really seen this, all I've seen about Houndmaster lately is people freaking out about knotted Rope which while the change was a bit lazy is not a big deal. I've been running a fatty meat hex build which IMO is way more evil than stacking knotted rope with STBFL and Rapid.

Twitter is always going to freak out because it's all about rage baiting with the dumbest takes imaginable so I'm not sure how much that counts. Houndmaster is like Mid B tier now and feels perfectly fine. I haven't played against her recently but she definitely has counters. Dog is so loud you should almost never be Houndsensed if you're not being lazy and the dog is still pretty unusable in tight loops so I don't think she's really capable of being broken considering that.

Hens has said shes OP and top 5 /:

    Expect nerfs acordingly sadly

Side note Hens might of been the worst consultant choice out of the many good DBD players I feellike he doesn't believe half the things he types/talks about but he does it becasue he thinks it popular

I actually had to look cuz that seemed so ridiculous to me and yeah idk if he's baiting or what cuz that's such an insane thing to say.

Nurse, Blight, Billy, Spirit, Artist, Oni, Plague, Singularity, Twins, I could go on but you get the point. There's no way Houndmaster is anywhere near the level of any of these killers. No idea what Hens is smoking

Anytime a new killer comes out and is strong. Content creators love to rush to "wow this killer is a new top 5 killer" then a couple weeks happen and suddenly that killer is no where to be seen.

It happens so consistently that I just can't take any content creator's opinions on the game seriously.

Just stop buying new killers they clearly don’t want other options. Nurse and HillBilly for free no charge. Outdoing every other killer but every other killer keeps getting nerfed.

He seems to really overestimate killer's strengths and heavily underestimate the average survivor for some reason

he assumes that survivors that dont play comp are dumb as rocks and need hand holding

its kinda wild but scott jund is actually a houndmaster defender and has the logical takes on killer balance for once

he's the only content creator i've seen who is in my biased opinion is correct

Be very careful when you take sentiment expressed on social media as the views reflected by the majority, it is easy for algorithms and bubbles to over represent a viewpoint (X is OP) when it is not what most people in the community think.

Me personally, I think her cooldown for sending the dog out for chase is a little too short right now, but I do appreciate that the dog is somewhat stronger. Now if only they could stop him from getting stuck…

I just don't think she'll ever be very enjoyable to play against.

Fighting an AI dog for control over your character just looks frustrating

I don't think he's that far off. They buffed too many things and made her kind of braindead. Another zoning killer who is way too strong for how easy they are to play. She can just hold M2 and force a hit on the animation lock now or cancel into an M1. They won't stop with this kind of design for some reason. People are going to hate playing against this killer. I'm not saying game design is easy by any means, but we have so much historical precedent with zoning killers. These buffs aren't going to work long-term.

Nah you still get slowed down on a cancel , if you whistle you better be ready to commit to the dog or you'll lose serious distance and you better hope you hit because missing with the dog is almost guaranteed to lose chase if you miss and they hold W.

I also don't know where her being easy came from when literally everyone compared her to Singularity and considered her high effort low reward when she first released. As far as I'm concerned this is nothing but clickbait hysteria.

Yeah, I always got the feeling that Hens thinks that the avg survivor is really bad at the game and needs hand-holding while the avg killer player is some comp-level killer who can perform at the same level as him or other killer mains. Personally, I kinda don't like he is a Consultant because he is SO into dbd comp and I just don't want the game to become an esport.

I honestly was so surprised that Scott is defending these buffs…I thought for sure he would say that HM is OP now and needs nerfing given that he was so against Scamper when Chucky came out and Bat on Dracula being used to catch up to a survivor.

  • BlackRose89

Yeah, I don't know where this idea that she so easy to play now came from. A week ago she was a hard killer with a really high-skill floor who you didn't get much reward but now all sudden she is a super easy killer? Like what? Yeah, the buffs have made her a little easier but I don't think she likes BD easy now…

what do you mean? it's like like huntress reading a hatchet. she's been doing this very basic zoning gameplay for ages. Houndmaster is more of the same. your suppose to let dog fire then STUNNING the dog with the pallet. not pre-throwing pallet and then letting killer throw dog out, dog vaults, dog grabs you and than she m1 you.

also, the same 50/50 bait games apply to houndmaster as huntress where if survivor don't throw pallet, you either cancel ability which makes you lose distance or you throw dog out and than re-direct but survivors can dodge the dog because you have to do like a total 180 turn with redirect.

they made it that survivor cannot auto-pilot their wins and need to use some skill to escape the killer.

So I watched his latest video. Scott said she could be overpowered and that some aspects of her kit shouldn't have been buffed as much as they were. His main point was that it's too early to be sure.

Killers don't need to be strong to be likeable, most people are fine with Ghostface and he's not strong, not withstanding the people who get butthurt over the Reveal screwing them over when it screws him over just as much.
