Would bundling maps together in realms solve the map offering issue for now?

Lately, I have noticed that a lot of people have been complaining about how annoying map offerings are, and how they offer an advantage to whoever uses them. With that, these people have been calling for the deletion of map offerings.

The problem is that this would seriously hinder achievement hunters and people that just want to play on the map for the aesthetics or because they find it fun.

My suggestion is to, instead of deleting the map offerings, simply get the most survivor sided and the killer sided maps and bundle them together in a single realm to discourage usage for advantage.

This has worked for Garden of Joy, which in the past was a desired realm for all survivors, but since they bundled it with Greenville Square, which a fairer map, survivors have stopped bringing the offering. I suppose the same thing will happen to Ormond, since although the Ormond Resort is survivor sided, the new Ormond Mine seems much better for killers, which should drop the Damaged Photo usage.

In that sense, you could group Hawkins and Badham together, Midwich and Eyrie, and also Toba Landing and Nostromo Wreckage.

In cases of original locations, this is a great way to do it, as we have seen with the Ichorous Loam offering.

But for original maps, it's simply not possible. I imagine it would require approval from the license holders, and I'm not sure if they would be happey with mingling franchises together.

Aside from that, making a map that wouldn't be so god-awful to play on for the Forsaken Boneyard realm could stop all the people sending themselves to Eyrie.

True, but Dungeons and Dragons for example did not have a problem dividing a realm with Scattered Square, so I think that license holders wouldn't mind that. In any case, getting a new map that isn't awful for Forsaken Boneyard and Springwood would be nice.

Yeah, for Badham the chances are low. The license holders are notorious for having strict conditions. Similar story with Haddonfield.

D&D doesn't really have a set location for it, so that made it easier imo.

Why do have all of my survivors an archievement on Eyerie and Badham? It is never Toba Landing, Nostromo, or Borgo. Where are these creatures? On a more serious note, archievements are optional and it should never be okay that these ones are more important than the fun of the game. Also, you will get these archievements by playing the game. There is no achievement for a speed run. Also nice that one player can choose the map which is fun for them. What is fun for the others, seems not so important. This is really egotistical. But when it's not 100% fun despite the map offering, then just dc/give up - does not matter if this makes the match miserable for the other four players. A game can never be 100% fun, especially not a PvP game. There will always be matches that are unfun or boring. Happens and if this few moments are too much for someone, then the game might not be the right one for this player and should move on.

This will never happen because of lore and it might be to complicated. Also, players stopped bringing GoJ offerings not only due to the other map but also because Eryie is just the best survivor map due to how simple it is. These players need simple and reliable strong maps to play the game. GoJ is still survivor sided but has sometimes "bad" RNG and you have to use your brain sometimes. Adding balanced or bad survivor maps to the realms that have strong maps, will not solve the real issue and is only a temporarly fix.

Just rework map offerings so they lower the chance for the realm instead of increasing it. Then, keep on reworking unbalanced maps. This is the right way to make the game fun and balanced for all. Putting all of the bad maps together will just result into a russian roulette.

My personal beef is with the entire concept of map offerings. There's no "fixing" them, I simply don't think they should be in the game at all. And I don't think the achievement hunter arguement holds much water either, since why not just get those acheievments through ordinary play? Sure, it might take a bit longer but so what? It's meant to be an achievement, they're not all meant to be easy to get.

So I'm currently happy with the solution they've implemented (to make sac wards a brown offering and therefore more plentyful). It's a fair compromise. Not everyone cares about maps offerings, so not every opponent will burn a sac ward before a trial and so players should get their maps more often than not and I won't have to deal with this annoyance so often.

I get a giggle everytime I block an Erie offering with sac ward.
