Hex Startup Buff: Only light up when triggered/gains a token
One of the big issues of Hexes is there are a number of them that are lit at the start of the trial. Often you have to take multiple hexes to make them work/defend them, but that also increases the odds of survivors fiinding a hex at the start of the trial and then being aware to look out for hexes.
It would be greatly helpful if hexes only lit up when their effects are triggered, or when they gain a token.
Global change to all Hexes:
- Hex Totem auras for killer are yellow while the hex is hidden.
- Hex Totem auras for killer turns red once the Hex is lit.
- For survivors, attempting to boon a hidden Hex Totem will immediately illuminate the totem.
What this means for specific Hexes:
- Blood Favour - Illuminates when a survivor enters the injured/dying state.
- Crowd Control - Illuminates first time a Survivor rush vaults a window.
- Devour Hope - Illuminates after gaining a token.
- Face the Darkness - No Change
- Haunted Ground - Illuminates when any other Hex is illuminated, or after 45s, whichever comes first.
- Huntress Lullaby - Illuminates the first time a Survivor misses a skillcheck or the Hex gains a token, whichever comes first.
- No One Escapes Death - No Change.
- Pentimento- No Change.
- Plaything - No Change.
- Retribution - Illuminates the first time a totem is cleansed/booned.
- Ruin - Illuminates the first time a Survivor let's go of a generator.
- The Third Seal - Illuminates on first hit of a basic or special attack.
- Thrill Of The Hunt - Iluminates the first time a Survivor starts Cleansing/Booni a totem.
- Two Can Play - No Change
- Undying - Illuminates the first time a Survivor aura is revealed or a Hex Totem is cleansed/buffed, whichever comes first.
- Wretched Fate - No Change.
This would at least give a chance for the killer to start defending their totems without the problem of them spawning right next to survivors and getting instantly smoked, and in some cases give totems with more strict conditions a chance to hidden for a short short time so the killer can get some value before they get threatened.

A fringe benefit of this of course is this also helps identify your totems... and tbh can't think of a reason why that would be bad.
A nice buff for Detective's Hunch would be that it also changes hex/dull totem aura colours.

Honestly, pretty reasonable Quality Of Life change for the "Double Edge" trade off for Hex's.

no offense taken just great minds think alike

The biggest problem with hexes is that cleansing it once can completely remove it from the game, and you never get it back.
Delaying the kit totem from appearing will still have this major problem. The "cleanse one and done" hexes are just too unreliable, because some survivors just instantly find hex totems whenever they exist, and it feels like a wasted perk slot. The only way to actually fix most the hexes, is for there to be some major gameplay change that allowed the killer to somehow bring back a hex perk after it has been destroyed.

Agreed. I think more hexes should also move totems as they are lit, so it's harder to find them, like how Two Can Play or Face the Darkness do.
