Back to the old matchmaking system... wow thanks 🙃
Welcome back to the long wait times that take at least 30 mins or more almost all the time because people can’t be satisfied with how the devs implement things!
Funny how some of the same people who complained about the long wait times became the people that complained about getting crazy ranks.
I would rather have crazy ranks instead of long waiting times.
Sitting up for at least 30 mins with friends just to get 1 match just for the killer to lobbydodge us to go back to waiting LOL.
EDIT: I thought I should mention I play on PS4, btw. Since some players claim they have shorter and different wait times. I’d forgotten that platform also matters too.
EDIT *2*: I also totally forgot about the pipping system too. That’s another factor of why the matchmaking system is terrible now.

FWIW the game should not be matching red ranks to brown ranks. However, due to the more difficult ranking system red ranks is now a ghost town. I wanted them to fix the system they had not revert back to what it was. I don't get why people got all bugged out about "wait times" and all that. For the most part the system was better than before, they just need to put some sort of limiter so that the top players don't get matched with bottom players.

Yeah 15+minute que times now. I'd rather have unfair rank matching so I can at least get to play.

The matchmaking completely messed up the game. You had people that were rank 20s and 15s playing with or against rank 1s. No matter how fast the games were that's not okay, We may aswell just get rid of rank altogether then if that was the case.

I was getting into games way faster before the change. I'm glad they reverted it. It was horrible.

The people moaning about the wait times are probably all the rank 1s that have been bottle fed rank 20s for a bit.

@Bongbingbing That is something I could vouch for. I mean yeah, I felt bad for the new players getting crushed but the wait times were so long that it was absolutely ridiculous.
It’s what drives my friends to say ######### it and go play a different game. I don’t mind playing a different game but there are times I’d rather play DBD with friends... and these long wait times ain’t it..,

how are you guys happy about this bs? is everyone in here rank 15-20? they only changed the matchmaking and not the pipping. that means red rank killers will never get a game now since there is no red rank survivors around. GJ for crying and GJ to the devs to listining to rank 20 again.

yep back to deranking as a killer since there are no red rank survivors, and yea also if 1 survivor dc's from the lobby you need to reset the lobby again. Back to shitshow

I play with my friends all the time, we constantly call it lobby simulator but we get into games fairly fast at around rank 10, maybe 5-10 minute wait times.

@PinkEricka Are you playing on console or PC?
The only time I was getting faster lobbies as a killer in PC Eurasia was when moonrise event was active. Survivor queues have always been instant for me.
Console killers have a lot of problems so I wouldn't be surprised if you are a console player.

First day of the broken matchmaking I was rank 10 survivor and found a killer in rank 20, who was playing his first match ever

@IronKnight55 I’m pretty sure platforms are a huge factor also.
If you’re playing on PC, it’ll be sort of better but on console it’s horrible.
If you’re playing solo on console, it’ll go a *LITTLE* faster but if you’re playing SWF. It’s hell

@PinkEricka I completely get that but the same thing can be said for those newer players, I know if I was facing rank 1 Killers or survivors when I first started I wouldn't want to continue to play.
I think the solution would be an incentive for those higher ranked players to stay in higher ranks every month since a lot of people will actively try to stay in a lower rank just to get games.

Great because people complained about matchmaking we are back to Lobby Simulator on Console. Well at least i only got a month till Days Gone comes out.

@fluffybunny With the new matchmaking system that just got butchered... If you’re finding lobbies fast but you’re getting high ping killers.. just dodge. You’ll find another match quickly WITHOUT having to wait a long time.

We know how godawful the old matchmaking system was for wait times at high ranks. (wait times of 30+ minutes)
Now we also have a harsher ranking system that makes reaching high ranks more difficult thus making the wait times even worse.
WHY WOULD YOU REVERT THE MATCHMAKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEASON? I am at rank 1 as killer (on PC, EU). I will now be unable to play the game (in fact I have already tried, enormous wait times, I gave up because no one was joining for a long time). WHY? The matchmaking WORKED. People could play. Yes, lowranks who previously got instant games had to wait for 2-3 minutes BUT HIGHRANK PLAYERS ACTUALLY GOT TO PLAY THE GAME. Now it's back to being impossible. I can't even derank BECAUSE I CAN'T PLAY. This is such an idiotic change. At the VERY LEAST you should have disabled the matchmaking and triggered a new season manually (rank reset) so people can play (or added an optional button to trigger the rank reset manually, once for this season only).
Again, I CAN'T PLAY ANYMORE DUE TO BEING HIGHRANK. THIS SHOULD NEVER BE THE CASE.
Maybe there is a good reason to disable it but you should have an explanation ready, not sometime later in the week when I can't play NOW!

I played Red Dead Redemption 2 online the other day and people were hunting me down and shooting me over and over just because I was a newbie that was an easy kill with no good guns.
Cant have a good thing without the bad.

@PinkEricka Well why should you punish new players? As I said before I pretty much always play SWF and never have a a longer than 5-10 minute wait time at rank 10ish.
Give some incentive for ranking up and more people will do it.

@Bithard Then I have no idea how you’re getting faster wait times. Must be the hour of the day or something because if DBD is your main game, you’ll notice that playing lobby simulator goes fast and slow sometimes depending on the hour of the day.
like late at night, you can hardly find any lobbies but REALLY early in the morning they will pop fast.

I am rank 1 killer under the new, harsher rank system. Maybe if I start a lobby right now it might be full when I come back from work tomorrow. Thanks for reverting to the old garbage system devs! At least your explanation for why you did it is goo- oh wait, that comes later during the week. Marvelous! With how utterly awful the wait times in the old matchmaking were at high ranks maybe your explanation will come before my rank 1 killer lobby fills up. Probably not though.

This is so frustrating, I don’t know how anyone would want the old matchmaking. Sure it matched up ranks better but who really cares? I’d rather get into matches quicker than have matching ranks cause frankly rank doesn’t mean anything. The only exception would be for players new to the game to be matched together.

I play at all hours, it does take longer when it is late at night but a lot of people are in bed so that is expected.

I'm red rank. No issues here...only when it was changed did i have to wait. Now it's reverted back and i don't wait anymore, just like before. Been red rank for 4 seasons and it's never been an issue for me.

I think a lot depends on how patient you are and the times you play at. I am not one to put all people in the same boat, I know there are cool red ranks out there :D

You can either have long waiting times or match making that doesn't take rank and/or ping into consideration. Eventually you can have bigger playerbase when you stop banning people for "harassment"

I was waiting longer than before in solo que just to join a red ping lobby I had to dodge. The only one benefiting from the change is SWF.

They're shooting themselves in the foot if they really think it's a good idea to limit survivors to SWF. Killers don't even like SWF, so it doesn't benefit anyone to pair solo players with lower ranks/newbies, which they often were.
