Does Bone Chill Have MMR In Play?
I am genuinely curious on this one as I played for about 4 near 5hrs yesterday and 7hrs tonight (OCE) and I noticed I am going against the exact same players I typically go against in the regular mode if not stronger and more efficient. I'm not even remotely exaggerating when I say 1/3 games I come across a map pick (Typically Eyrie, Macmillan, Azarov), 1 minimum instaheal (3 matches tonight all 4 had it), Flashlight/Bang save attempts have been way more common so I have typically needed to bait it out, a lot of cocky players doing a single pallet stun or juke that they immediately start lobbing snowballs at you which I assume is a BM attempt or to be obnoxious, gens are flying way way faster than usual and I typically have 5-6 min matches.
It has also been quite common Shift+W has played a factor very commonly in my matches. Despite me using the combo Unforeseen + Nowhere to Hide in most my builds even on indoor maps despite having no TR as It's linked the gen I could go full map away where I can't be seen and the survivor/s working on a gen immediately start holding forward before I even get close and thats with no TR.
Other common factors I have gone against are Dramaturgy + Finesse, Shoulder the Burden (Which typically you would find in SwF's as Solos wouldnt get much benefit from it), Unbreakable, DS, Dead Hard, Adrenaline or Window of Opportunity builds
I have done up a quick MS Paint on what the game Is feeling like from my perspective, it's all speculation obviously as we can't see our own MMR's unless a hacker accesses that information as they did about 2years ago exposing content creators brackets.
It feels like I am stuck in a square where myself and probably 0.8% of the playerbase is in where we just repeatedly keep going against each other, at about 5:30pm I came across the exact same 4 squad 3 times in a row back to back to the point of we found it funny we kept finding each other. Which is why I question does Bone Chill factor in MMR? If it didnt why would I come across the same group back to back to back?
Now obviously these are not exact MMR numbers this is more so just displaying what I think the Bone Chill could be. I speculate It's designed In a way where if you are in that orange square no matter what queue you go for regular or event it will specifically find you a match in that bracket to which you can't escape from. Over the course of near 12 hours total I probably had 3-4 matches tops where It felt incredibly chill, the survivors made consistent mistakes, they were allergic to gens (despite me using no gen def), they weren't efficient with their tile looping they kind of just ran from spot to spot where nothing was and to no surprise all 4 of those games ended in 4k's with no gens done. This would imply as I was searching for a queue it couldn't find my bracket so instead it pulled in 4 randoms from the blue circle.
What I also speculate is the blue circle is where all the casual play is at, farming points during the BP bonus period, having fun memeing with the snowmen, doing Christmassy things etc the typical "we are here to farm and have fun" group I never experienced that once in my 12hr playtime.
If this diagram is accurate I understand why It's done I'd just love some confirmation, It's to ensure the casuals who want to goof off never ever have to experience what typical top level games showcase. I could wrong It is all purely speculative however based on my experience (and a weeks worth of stream footage) It definitely feels like MMR is a factor in the events, at least for me anyways.
Anyone else feel this way? Where you can't seem to come across that 1 chill match every match feeling like a comp tryout? If my matches weren't as consistent as they have been I wouldn't have felt the need to make a post asking about it.

TLDR but I am in OCE and the queues are very quiet, if you really enjoy DBD then I would suggest paying for a year of ExitLag as I will play NA West or Asia when OCE gets too quiet etc.
The problem with OCE is the DBD population is small, so you will see a lot of the same players and at times of year like this where people are on holiday, the matchmaking cant accurately take into account your MMR, so it will match you with a wider range of players so you aren't waiting forever.
Again, I strongly recommend ExitLag, just don't be a scumbag and play killer in other regions as that is disgustingly unfair

This happens in basically every server and every event, but it's more prominent in some countries than others. And yes, MMR exists for events/modes, but it doesn't gain or lose. You can only gain and lose MMR in the basic game.

Keep in mind that both killer and survivor are both averaging 100% BP for Bone Chill, which may indicate not too many players are playing, and that’s why you’re facing the same players back to back or every other game or so. This happened to me last night and this morning. Players are most likely away on holiday/vacation, so the pool is smaller. I also noticed the wait time to find a match takes a little longer than usual. I’m on NA servers.

I believe I'm on the NEA server and honestly, my team mates lately (in event mode) have been on my level. It's actually been great. So whatever is happening, I'm personally okay with it lol
