Rework Dried Cherry Blossom

There's a couple things that Spirit needs but I'll focus on this one for this forum post.

Dried Cherry Blossom is a very cheese way to eliminate most of the counterplay that survivors have against Spirit. I main Spirit and survivor so I have perspective on both of these. There is a common way to play against spirit is pathing in a unique way, such as hiding behind a random object near the loop you are at to make the spirit guess wrong by her going to the pallet and you hiding nearby etc. Or even when double backing through her when shes phasing towards you.

Cherry blossom takes away ALL the guessing game because if you are moving near them at all (which you should be able to find with audio) you will just know where they are. This is incredibly unfun to play against and reduces spirit to just having to camp pallets and play the drop 50/50 instead of any counterplay on the way to loops etc.

Especially when combo'd with Mother Daughter Ring, this addon verges near uncounterable, as the increased movement speed from MDR makes it so the survivor is in a lose/lose scenario if the spirit is patient and plays correctly. This addon is long overdue for a rework.

Spirit desperately needs a power reshuffle from her addons vs basekit abilities, but just this one addon change will help Spirit feel more fair in public matches. A large percentage of spirits use this addon as it is just free value.
The way to change this without straight up reworking it would be to make the killer instinct based off the Husk instead of the Spirit if you still want to keep it as giving killer instinct, but changing it entirely would be better.

In fact, the previous "nerf" from 4 to 3 meters actually enabled the Spirit to more accurately pinpoint survivors - the opposite of intended effect.

    I agree, I've started having to use my exhaustion speed to run through her phasing to make her whiff if I recognise they are using it. It's annoying, and not many people are going to play enough or have played her to recognise it at all.

    Killer powers need more interaction and I feel spirit is so close to being that killer, but the Killer Instinct add on removes it and its the most common used

    Spirit main here and I agree with this. I've told this in the past that this addon needs a rework because it is straight up unhealthy by removing the typical counterplay you can do against her (u-turn, start crouching ect.). This addon is also a huge skill issue for the ones who use it because you will quickly rely on that addon since it does all the work for you and gives you so much value for literally nothing. It also makes MDR much more easier to use.

    I really hope the developers will look at her in the first half of 2025 because she is nearly in a perfect spot - just needs the Dired Cherry Blossom addon rework, little QoL changes, and some other addons can get a rework.

    This addon needed to be removed ages ago. The nerf from 4 meters to 3 meters did not do anything to make it more fair and in some cases actually made it stronger because it makes the tracking more precise. Spirit is about having to determine survivors' locations based on sound and environmental cues, and getting killer instinct when you're near anyone just takes away that prediction game and vastly reduces the counterplay against the killer to a level which is too far in the Spirit's favor. And there's also no way for survivors to know for 100% sure that it's being used or not, so it's not like you can play around that knowledge either.

    It just needs to be replaced with a new effect entirely, there is not any nerf or penalty you could give it that would make it a fair addon.

    I have no issue with Spirit because a lot of her counterplay involves just knowing she can't see much while phasing. I agree 100% she could get some addon pass or something, her power kind of is outmoded in modern DBD and despite her speed she really has almost nothing else. She's also super addon reliant in that the addons she needs to be high A tier are REQUIRED specifically because they are unhealthy. I wouldn't even call her high A tier anymore unless you do use those addons.

    with mdr speed nerf, skilled survivors can run outrun her phase distance. this was already a problem with 40% MDR but this problem is worse. a lot of the time, you can just hold-w and spirit is unable to get into distance. now a days, i think that cherry blossom is too expensive to use. I just use her yellow speed add-on+mdr for 35% haste. spirit can counter shift-w and has anti-pallet potencial but her cooldown is very high for those two things. it's 15 second cooldown.

    for me, she feels like a stronger blight at loops with ability to hit people between loops but has +5 second cooldown for having both elements in her kit.
