When BHVR will address Knock Out
This perk is problem long time, especially for solo-q survivors. I don't know how BHVR can ignore problematic perk that long time. Thanks to Tru3 for making video about it tho.

they won’t because they don’t play their own game so they probably have no idea how problematic knock out is
20 -
That's probably the reason. It took years for them acknowledge about Object of Obsession as well. They said this perk fine.
6 -
The perk isnt particularly strong, so it may swim under the water in regards to stats.
Its definitely one of the, if not THE, most unhealthy perk in the game right now. Its should not be changed in numbers. It should be completely reworked.
22 -
BHVR works slowly.
It will get fixed eventually, but when? That is a mystery.
10 -
Killer strike in 2025? LOL
13 -
it's funny how the side that wins majority of the time is going on strike. Good I am taking another break so I don't have to endure this new trend.
17 -
If I had to guess I'd say the perk isn't used enough, so it flies under the radar. I also think that this is probably the worst designed perk in the entire game and in dire need of a nerf. It solely exists to make soloq even more miserable than usual and slug people until the bleed out.
3 -
LMAO… "Killer strike"?
Why on Earth would killers strike? They've never had it better than they do now!
Of course there is always room for adjusting things in an asymmetrical game but honestly I have never seen the game more killer sided than it is now, especially if you suffer solo queue constantly like me. So utterly ridiculous and a lot of the issue with the motivation for this video is that TrU3 is just not as amazing at killer as he thinks he is and when survivors don't just automatically take themselves to hooks he thinks the game is unfair.
20 -
I’m fairly sure killers had it better back when we had red ranks, because their average kill rate was 68%
2 -
But it's not strong! You said it yourself! 🤦♀️😂
3 -
Then rework it to a perk that has a stronger but healthier effect. Why keep something that is unhealthy and not particularly good?
16 -
Still to this day he wait 10sec for a styptic agent.
6 -
Numbers never tell the full story in DBD, if we go by numbers then Nurse is one of the worst killers in the game.
However I guarantee if you talk to pretty much anyone more objective who plays exclusively solo survivor, the game has not felt more killer sided for as long as I can remember.
4 -
very unfair for killers to have any perks that are good or useful
1 -
me too
2 -
I don't even care if they make this perk useful for different effect. This perk has unfair advantage on solo survivors.
9 -
No perk should affect those without comms so much more than those with comms to such an absurd degree.
And Knock Out does exactly that.
8 -
Tru3 wanting to do a "Killer Strike" via slugging is the funniest thing ever.
He constantly says that SWF is a big issue and how it is hard to buff SoloQ since it could buff SWF meanwhile slugging builds specifically profiteer off of the poor communication and lack of information of SoloQ, (good) SWFs can easily counter slugging.
All this really does is just make the issues he constantly talks about worse and servers to do nothing towards the stuff he complains about.
15 -
Zero reason for a perk with that effect to exist. It does not make the game better in any way.
13 -
You do realize that the game was originally designed and balanced with no comms for a reason, right?
There's perks to counter slugging and bleed out. If you're running into so much that you're at a point of actually complaining to this degree, run the perks to counter it.
But if you're running into it 1-2 times in 50 games, you're being absolutely ridiculous. I can't even remember the last time I've played a killer running Knock Out.
2 -
Because it's a bad perk lol
Good survivors and SWF's literally dont mind knock out at all
It's only good vs Baby survivors and the game sense challenged portion of the player base
5 -
I dont know how you can type this with a straight face lol…
Gen defence is at an all-time low…
The survivor meta is still the same it's been for literal years…. And if you think about old DS is kinda back with dramaturgy somewhat
Flashlight and flash bang saves have never been easier and if you miss one it's legit a skill issue, a major one at that
The game literally tells solo queue players when to try and save a teammate and yall have like 300 perks to try and stop a tunnel out while you rush gens
Yall are most likely going to bet unbreakable base kit very soon
Maps are still hot garbage for most killers
The only way this game could be killer sided is when the survivor on your team throws a hissy fit and off themselves on hook
2 -
They said they always intended to have SWF at launch, but could not finish it and KYF at the same time back then. Not long after they added it in. Imo they just seriously underestimated the impact of comms on the game.
As for how often Knock Out is run, I don't think it's ever been anywhere near the top of the usage over they years. Doesn't mean its not a serious problem needing fixing, and disproportionately brutal on solos. But as with everything else in DBD, what we see run in our matches depends on MMR, time of day, region, etc.
7 -
"maps are still hot garbage for killers"
Excuse me? Most of the maps have those awful window loops and people play killers that can hit over loops more often than not what more do you guys want? The maps have been bloody gutted
11 -
you can address the perk by running bond, you'll see survivors on the floor within 36 meter of you. in fact, tru3 when asked on stream said it was bad design that survivor perk trumps killer perk. i thought it was funny because he's saying that swf = bad design.
1 -
Thats the thing - Knockout is not even good. This is why people want it to be reworked, ideaelly into a Perk whihc is useful aside from Griefing.
6 -
I dont know how someone can bring the (correct) argument that Knockout works better against Solos and does not really do much against SWFs and THEN still does not see a reason to change the Perk.

Thx for pointing this out. It doesn't change my argument though. In case survivors bring bond the perk becomes even less useful. Therefore it literally hits those that are the weakest the hardest. Soloq people that don't constantly run bond.
Why should we keep knock out as it is, if the perk could be better and healthier??? I don't get this. Just rework the perk to make it more viable and healthy.
Sometimes I feel like most things survivor - related are bad design according to that particular streamer, but I digress.
6 -
Then rework the perk to make it generally more viable and healthy overall...
I seriously don't get why people defend this awful design.
2 -
You completely missed the point. This is not about the perk being particularly good, which I do t even think it is.
It's about it's core-design being unhealthy for the game.
9 -
the counter to knock out is swf. Bond turns soloq into SWF. why isn't this base-kit? I don't know but whatever. if they were to rework this perk, it would be a perk that either A) speed up bleed out or B) reduces bleed out timer when you are healed off the floor. either way, the perk is not that good at its job.

Not sure why anyone is defending a perk that has always been bad.
It's design is unfun, it's weak outside of stomping Solo Q and it's outdated.
Some people are so caught up in their tribal mentality that they don't even want an objectively weak Killer perk to be changed.
14 -
People are delusional everytime they use the stale excuse that swf aint affected by this or that, little do they know there are swfs who just probably brought the game and have 0 knowledge yet alone perks, killer mechanics and what not.
Killers really need to grow a pair and stop the out of date swf this swf that nonsense sure partially things is a little more bare able to handle but does not mean 100% easy wins or is it fun for said swf.
3 -
Bond does NOT turn soloq into swf. What makes swf so strong isnt particularly the communication via 3rd party software (which isnt even guaranteed when playing swf) but the fact that you know that you can rely on your team. You know them and therefore what they are and arent capable of. Bond does by no means provide this.
Thats some ideas to make it better, yes.
- Maybe something like: after downing someone with a normal attack, you gain a token
- for each token, you next vaulting, and pick up speed is reduced / lunge is increased?.
Just get rid of the stupid blind on the floor - aspect and keep the deafening - effect due to its uniqueness and because it tells the survivors, that the perk is in play.
6 -
but knock out is not doing anything in relation to that. it's only taking away information. complaining that information does nothing than complaining about blindness on the floor is 10/10 chef kiss.

Yeah, let's act like game is still balanced around no comms. It was years ago, this era ended long time ago.
Now BHVR is very much balancing game around SWFs. That's why they added HUD icons to help solos a bit. That's why they are nerfing maps to ground and full them with weak loops. Many survivor perks nerfed to ground because they simply was broken on SWFs.
There is only one perk to counter it, UB. And you can use it only one time. If you meant boon perk, it's pretty much trash. It works only for small area and killer can kick it pretty fast. And it's so loud, it's not hard for killer to find it.
6 -
The way the game was designed 8 years ago should not dictate design decisions today
11 -
I play survivor consistently and haven't seen this perk used once in a killers build in longer than I can remember. Maybe it's usage is higher in EU.

Knock out is a slugging perk. It makes recovery slower and the survivor being harder to find.
This 100% hits soloq the hardest.
Rework this perk. There is no reason to defend it in any way other than you like stomping soloq groups that do not have bond equipped.
Give me one good reason for this perk not getting a rework.
7 -
I don't think recovery is the worst part since it's basically a opposite unbreakable but I still think weaker in percentage. And pick up speeds can be crazy with stuff like we'll make it (and recovery builds) . But yeah definitely on the blindness part. The deafening is interesting since only 2 things in this game do it. I know they like to keep as close as possible to the original vision of perks when changing them. So it's whether they make it into another slug perk that actually hurts both solo que and swf. Or remake it completly to change the themeing. I know going based on the description it's supposed to be a stealth perk of sorts where you could down a survivor without anyone noticing and get the jump on someone else. But that doesn't work with swf and now the UI revealing it.
1 -
That sounds very interesting! Would still be worse to play against in soloq and absolutely useless in swf. I like your trail of thought though. Maybe we can turn this thread into something more positive and create some ideas for a possible rework?

God forbid any killer perk in this game that isn't slowdown be situational useful.
0 -
It's not situational.
8 -
By this exact logic, SM 1.0 should have never been changed, because good SWFs could beat her and the 3-gen strategy only worked against new players or people who weren’t prepared for it
Being Strong and being Unhealthy for the game are not the same thing, things that actively promote playing in the most braindead, backwards, and just flat out boring ways possible should not stay in the game, at all, and Knock Out is, in a objective sense, Unhealthy, it promotes a braindead playstyle the majority of the playerbase finds really unfun, I’ve ran the build myself in Singularity and it was some of the most snooze-worthy gameplay I’ve ever done.
Knock Out is a bad perk, but it’s also a unhealthy perk, one that should be reworked entirely to be both good and healthy for the game3 -
Slugging is more healthy for the game as it removes tunnel that survivors hate so much and allows killers to get more chases in
Isn't chase what makes the game fun?
I have a feeling survivors wanna play m1 simulator instead

My idea was after downing a survivor with a basic attack, their visioned and hearing is messed up (like currently i think) and the killer gets undetectable for like 20 seconds. So the swf can't call out where the killers going but they can see the survivor on the floor (the blindness is completly removed) . And you have the option to hook which removes a good bit of your undetectable time since you obviously have to take them to a hook. Or try to find someone else while stealthy.
0 -
Ah yes, because spending four minutes on the floor getting humped is better lmao
Neither tunneling nor slugging are healthy when taken to extremes.
15 -
The perk's intended effect is only noticeable on soloQ. It's not like this effect was unintended. The perk is MEANT to deny information to your teammates. It being useless against survivors on comms doesn't make it's intended effect and usage overly strong all of a sudden.
0 -
Humping is fine though
When it's done for 4 mins yea it's not
But it's equivalent to a little tbag and follow me emote on a pallet stun
I truly doubt people get humped for longer then 10 seconds
Only the most toxic blights will actually let every survivor bleed out while humping them
Killer also loses / draws if 2 or more people bleed out btw they lose mmr

If you are saying BHVR intended this perk to make slugging better, i have to disagree with you.
