I wouldhave thought the Devs learned their lesson with Skull Merchant.
A Killer with an inflated Kit is not fun for Survivors. It's why people hated playing against Skull Merchant. You're just going to see more disconnects and self sacrifice with the Nighmare.

Better solution: Instead of giving into bad survivors who ragequit at the slightest inconvenience (or because they loaded into a match that a Skull Merchant dared to exist in), we take away their hook suicides and punish them instead. Designing around those people will just cause the killers in the game to all be current Freddy tier.

Freddy isn't even complex though? Avoid the blood which moves be careful about pallets, always try to wake up don't heal while asleep

He will definetly be better, but also higher skill ceiling, which I find to be a good thing.

I agree, reworked killers are always overbuffed, oh, it's a pity that DBD is turning into even more of a killer-side game, no one is interested in the fun of the survivors

The game has b een survivored foucs for like 5 years my guy, its only recently weaker killers have been getting buffs, because you know, they are WEAK?

When you see every map rework make the map smaller, every roadmap littered with killer buffs or ""reworks"" and nothing but crumbs for survivors, when you look at the lopsided kill rates, when you notice many of your matches feature people going next then you must understand that this game is killer simp simulator.
Its not going to change any time soon.

If a Killer is too strong on rework, the Devs will nerf them later. We have seen them do it with Dracula, Chucky, and Sadako. They will do it for Freddy if he is too much.
There is nothing wrong with a) admitting the game is not about Survivors being in power and hasn't been for a while, b) Killers being made stronger. If anything, it means now the Devs can give Survivors stronger perks later down the line when everything is patched up again, do you think we'd have gotten stuff like Shoulder the Burden if Killers never got buffed to be able to handle that?

No the OP is right, while 3 gen is part of it for sure, her fundamental design was what players hated and effects like 'hindered' are woefully unpopular, particularly with experienced survivors who know what they can get away with in loops but hindered throws out all experience based timing.
I think we need to wait and see how the PTB plays out either way but I do wish BHVR would stop buffing everything as not everything needs to be meta.

People were biased because of the hell she brought into the game, and stayed salty since.
She also had 6? 7? (Idk) status effects at her disposal basekit.
For Freddy, countering his power is still easy: Blow up a gen/use a clock/find a teammate and DON'T HEAL WHILE ASLEEP.

I have no problem playing as or against Skill Merchant. I feel like anyone who does decide to DC or die off first hook is their problem. A DC is whatever because the other survivors get to at least keep a bot which is still a functional teammate who we all know would be better than the original player anyway. If anyone genuinely has a problem with the Skull Merchant because of that one game they got slugged for 3 seconds and they dared to kick a gen, then that sucks to be them, because not everyone is like that and ppl just need to accept that. Similar to how not every Mega main is a toxic piece of trash, not every Skull Merchant is out to get you simply because their favorite content creator claimed it's the best way to play.

I don't think getting gen rush perks buffed and killer gen slowdown perks needed to the ground is considered "crumbs" to a survivor. That's a whole 5 course meal to them

Then the experienced players should learn to stop crying because of a status effect and learn to deal with it, counter it. If they can handle being exposed for 30s or being exhausted for 40s, then they can handle 5 seconds of slow movement. Being less greedy with a pallet isn't hard either

What a stuping thing lmao. I decide what I wanna play and what I don't. Playing surv is already painfull enought, DC giving penalty so only 1 good solution to avoid bs unfun killer is just suicide. Kinda recommend.

People who hook suicide at the slightest inconvenience are already not playing the game. They start a game, then ragequit and ruin it for the rest of their team.

Freddy has a lot going on but unlike Skull Merchant his power is engaging for survivors and there are adequate ways to counter all of his abilities. SM's power essentially played the game for you and you could do extremely well with her for little to no effort, you can't do that with Freddy
