CROUCH TECH REMOVED??

used to pray for times like this as a Billy main 🙏🏾. I’m just only worried about going against blights now, he’s already S tier as it is and crouch teching was the only viable thing against good blights.

Awesome
8 -
As soon as I learned how to do it against Xeno…
But it is okay, I understand why it had to be removed.
4 -
Waiting for the posts "but my counterplay" i told people to not get used to it. If a power is meant to be dodged you can dodge it the normal way lol.
11 -
goated bug fixes. They also claim to fix the invisible collision near the crane on autohaven.
7 -
Demo players rejoice
5 -
and the spirit husk bug🙏🏾 tbh they knew better to fix it now because that new skin for spirit is p2w because it doesn’t have the Audio bug
4 -
faxxxx. People was definitely about to get on they a$$ over the new skin advantage.
They even fix knight guard window bug which I thought they gave up on

Billy and Blight now have even less counterplay. Great…

Goodbye and Good Riddance

Crouch tech did nothing against Xeno my dude. Crouch tech allowed to dodge M2 hits with a relatively high center of gravity. Blight, Billy and Demo were the killers mainly affected by it. Xeno can literally direct his tail at the ground.
3 -
It was about time.
Now I wonder if they fixed it by increasing the survivor hitbox or the killer one
3 -
Exactly, it's not you dodging, it's the Xeno missing or being over ambitious with the hit.
1 -
R.I.P.
I'm glad for Demo, and Billy has had some slight nerf adjustments and is mechanically challenging enough to play that this is probably fine. But this is one more reason to consider retuning Blight a bit more.
1 -
Good riddance. It was stupid anyway.
5 -
The original sin of Blight's power is the 5 tokens. It's just way too much. It removes all semblance of commitment and risk from his kit.
2 -
Yeah we definitely need less Billy and Blight counterplay those Killers were so weak already
10 -
Yeah a bug being counterplay i don't think is what they want to encourage. And it happened to even weaker killers like demo as well.
11 -
Okay and it still removed counterplay from two strong Killers? And it happened to one (1) other Killer which is Demo, not multiple.
1 -
Unintentional counterplay. They ain't lich or nemi
3 -
And to think Vial still exists…
That said, there are really many facets of Blight that are blatantly overtuned. After all, even with 3 rushes when using Blight Tag he's still incredibly strong, with a ridiculous recharge time and movement speed, particularly of course when combined with another recharge or speed add-on.
Various things could be tuned about Blight, some mix of which would make for a much more balanced killer, without losing the fun factor or even S-tier viability. 4.4m/s base movement speed, not being able to break pallets with rush hits, getting stunned draining his power tokens and only recharging them once the stun animation has played out, increasing the recharge time of tokens, increasing the fatigue time after rushing (especially when missing a rush hit/breaking a pallet with it), reducing base tokens to 4, reducing his ability to still flick almost 180° between the pre-turning rate and in-attack turning rate, slightly increasing base rush speed but removing the rush speed add-ons, … - there's plenty you can do, just take the right two or three things and he'll be fine while still being more or less the same incredibly potent killer.

Bad news the crouch tech was not fixed. Still works on Billy, demo, and blight.
0 -
Terrible news for the heal of the game. Crouch tech adds a skill element that just made the game so much better.
7 -
Who said they were? In my original post all I said is that they removed counterplay against two strong killers, which they did. Idrc if it was intentional or not, they removed counterplay from them.
0 -
is it? I don’t have a pc so I can’t test it in the ptb.
0 -
So why did they remove Hugtech? That was fair, right?
4 -
It makes sense to remove crouch techs.
But if I'm being totally honest, crouch techs are all I've got in my bag of tricks against these Killers.
2 -
Suppose there is an implied trust that if they start overperforming they'll get adjustments accordingly… 🤔
2 -
oh noooo! anyways...

Blight Tag's Blight still is very strong but nonetheless does feel a lot more enjoyable and bearable to play against. Two opportunities to hit survivors is the perfect middle ground for such a strong power. 4 is ridiculous.
0 -
Where was this stated though? I can't find it in any of Dev updates/PTB news etc.

I wish hug tech would have stayed as well, but hug tech required far less knowledge to implement. I do see the value in removing hug tech as a nerf; however, hug tech only affected arguably the strongest killer in the game. Removing crouch tech makes playing into S tiers harder than it already is. You cant just crouch anywhere and it makes you invincible.
1 -
you can still crouch tech on PTB, people already tested it.
Imho, removing crouch tech is just another step made towards removing skill expression from the game
3 -
pretty wild to see which techs are Bugs That Must Be Fixed and which are Valid And Necessary Counterplay
2 -
so its pay to win because its a skin without a bug?
its not pay to win then its just a skin without a bug
0 -
huntress is gonna stomp even harder with iri hatchet heck even without

This content has been removed.
-
it’s in the ptb patch notes in the bugfix section under characters.
0 -
Do u hear yourself rn? It’s literally pay to win because it gives an advantage over the other spirit skins. would u say the were elk skin for huntress wasn’t pay to win when it had bugged audio that made the hatchet wind up and lullaby way quieter than regular huntress? If something is locked behind a paywall that gives u an advantage in game that’s by definition pay to win.
2 -
Found it! Hadn't seen that I had to scroll all the way down to see the PTB patch notes 😅 Thanks for explaining!

This content has been removed.
-
nope. You can still crouch tech at most places
2 -
I think crouch tech needs to go, it's a tad silly. But I'm not opposed to throwing survivors a bone I understand it can be rough to dodge the likes of Nemesis
0 -
Yeah, lets remove "hug tech" because that is an exploit, but "crouch tech" is a "tech"
7 -
I enjoy facing Blight and never advocated for him losing hug tech though.
This is effectively a buff to these Killers without changing their skill expression and lowing survivor skill expression. That is not the kind of nerf/buff I like to see especially for high tiers.
2 -
Its Because obvious that remembering every hitbox of every texture and taking advantage of it in time is easier than just pressing control when playing as a survivor
Don’t get confused, first is an unskilled abuse of a bug by killers, and the second is a manifestation of the skill of a survivor0 -
if the other skins have a bug and this one doesn't then its not pay to win but if it was a full on feature then I'd agree with you
that huntress sin does need fixed if it has that and if the quiet lullaby is purposely there then I'd agree its pay to win
0 -
I mean, the devs specifically and directly said that hug tech was unintended almost 3 years before actually fixing it.
I don't believe they've ever said anything similar about crouch tech, they just fixed it silently.
And from a community standpoint, both were just called "techs" regardless.
I'm perfectly fine with them fixing both, even though some skill expression is lost in the process on both sides.
