I'm disappointed with dream pallets. Am I missing something?

As a Freddy main, the deviousness of the pallets wins me my games. Survivors thinking they are real.

Now, they're super obvious?

What purpose do they serve?

I've watched a lot of content creators on the ptb and I don't see their use anymore.

They can also stun Freddy?!

Am I missing something?

in all honesty, dream pallets now are just like this.

"oh hey! i can bring back an already used pallet to cuck me later! but hey!!!! i can make them explode for a minuscule explosion that survivors can simply walk out of!"

all dream pallets do now is just screw you over, it sucks.

I really hope they don't go live like this. A Killer's power should not be able to be used against them like this. What are @GeneralV thoughts on the changes?

I couldn't say if they're completely fine how they are or not. Though I will say that I personally like them. The fact that they can stun you is practically irrelevant, there are zero situations where you will get stunned if you don't want to. Just detonate the pallet if you're worried about that. Or you can abuse perks like Enduring, Hubris, and Two Can Play with dream pallets, which I think is pretty fun.

There are also plenty of situations where you can benefit from dream pallets. You can detonate a dream pallet that's out of the survivor's line of sight, causing them to take damage right as they turn the corner. You can also place them in tight corridors, like the upstairs outdoor area of Ormond's main building. If your timing isn't terrible, you can force the survivor to stop before the pallet, get them to drop it which slows them down, or just get a hit with the explosion. No matter what, you're getting something out of that situation.

Survivors shouldnt be able to tell the difference

    Exactly. It defeats the purpose.

I really hope it doesn't go live like this. This discourages the Killer from using one of his powers as you are creating a resource (pallet) for the opposite team that can literally stun you.

Freddy is supposed to make his victims see things that aren't real.

I have watched hours of content creators and none can seem to explode the pallet successfully hitting a Survivor.

I think dream pallets should just be left alone. This concerns me so much 😭

This is incredibly depressing. Was it just the dream pallets you didn't like, or the whole thing?

They managed to *somehow* nerf the Dream Pallets.

They are a waste of time atm.

I wonder if BHVR just hates me and you and purposefully is balancing the game against us the way our faves are being slaughtered and rebuilt specifically away from the very things that made us love them in the first place…

Willing to bet SM will get a similar change and have her AOE area denial be completely removed altogether…

The new dream pallets are even worse than they were before. They create the illusion of power. As a survivor going down to a dream pallet that you can't tell apart from a normal pallet would suck. Even more so with the explosion.

Until you consider that this pallet wasn't there to begin with. Meaning you would have been hit either way because you were already in a dead zone.

They definitely need to change the dream pallets. As they are, they are worse than the old dream pallets and that was undoutbedly the worst power in the game.

Start with survivors being unable to tell them apart, then increase the range and decrease the delay before the explosion. 1 second should be enough.

I love dream pallets the way they currently are. I'd rather them stay the same - as in sleeping Survivors don’t know they're fake and scrap the whole explosion mechanic.

It's definitely a cool idea on paper, but in practice you'll virtually never get use from them as Survivors will avoid them since they know they are dream pallets.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the old dream pallets too because it was super funny whenever they did provide value. But I also want them to do something, that isn't quite as niche as before. The greatest value I ever got out of a dream pallet was that a survivor tried to pallet save their teammate with one and got injured as a result. But that happened once in hundreds of games.

As someone who plays Freddy a lot and likes to use the add-on for dream pallets - I hate the new dream pallets. It's also confusing having to switch and then you have to press a combination of mouse buttons to make it explode. Survivors can just slam a fake pallet before it explodes. They can now stun Freddy (I'm convinced this is a bug and they don't know how to fix it so they are putting it down as a feature now). It's so dumb that survivors can now tell the difference between them and awake survivors can slam them down. Yeah, it will put them to sleep faster but now they can use any alarm clock that isn't on cool down so before they wake themselves up they can destroy a pallet and then go wake up.

I found myself only using dream snares when playing the PTB.

The whole thing, my dear friend. It is clear now that Freddy will never again be the killer I really loved playing.

Unfortunately, my dear friend, it is very likely that SM will lose everything that makes her unique.

That is the only reason why I didn't choose her as my new main. I like her power, I like her visuals and I like her lore. But I won't suffer through another full rework.
