The Fast Vault change is what dropped Skull Merchant to F tier, not every other change

This is something I wanted to talk about for a while, but after testing Skull Merchant extensively for months I have only noted 2 things that are keeping her currently at F tier, (One of which is unintentional)

  1. The Frozen Drone Bug: A widely reported bug, and hopefully something that can be fixed in the down time of the rework, it really is annoying and it isn't an exaggeration to say its a game breaking bug, it can cause you to lose a 100% winnable chase, and its consistently bad, you will always see it once a trial, and while it can be reset by walking under it, this bug is still a really bad bug.
  2. The main topic, survivors no longer get scanned while vaulting, this change absolutely guts skull merchant's effectiveness, your power can be hard countered by a single pallet, it makes getting scans in chase very difficult, and while it does require some clever play, this was the change that made skull merchant F tier.

I don't see how this makes the fact she got several nerfs in one go any better.

no because survivor are required to rotate loops so you can use her power like current freddy snares. what gutted skull merchant is removal of haste on claw traps. a trap killer with no reward for landing traps.

Yeah, it's kind of silly. Pretty sure it blocks tags when a Survivor is in the process of dropping a pallet too.

I mean is this even bad. We know that they nerfed skull merchant so she can exist without ruining dbd for everyone. The point of her current state is so she is so weak that she does not get played until she is properly reworked.

Yeah, these 2 should obviously not be things. This killer's upkeep has been pretty lazy.

Let's just sweep all our problems under the rug instead of properly addressing them!

Imagine if they did this for a survivor thing. "OTR is too strong. We're removing the noise dampening and reducing the Endurance duration to 20 seconds. Good luck til next year!" It would be an outrage. That's why everyone just being okay with her nerf's function, as you described it, is unacceptable.

I mean this is just the reality of game development. Every game has had a character that had balance issues and needed reworked. If it is breaking the game they can't leave it or buff it. Why do you think a character that bhvr themselves has announced is broken (in terms of functionality not power) would get a buff? In a perfect world ya, they would rework her and tomorrow she would be a super fun killer that everyone loves, but the reality is, bhvr are saying okay we dont have the resources to fix this right now, so we keep her nerfed to where she isnt meta until we do have enough time to fix it.

I absolutely agree that the bug needs getting fixed because it's pretty absurd just how often it happens. As for the window stuff, that seriously sucks too because of someone that actually enjoys using low-power mode it kinda sucks the effectiveness of their zoning potential.
