Hoping freddy doesn’t get skull merchanted
The rework to Freddy looks Awsome and I, along with many others, cannot wait to play him.
But knowing the community I’m afraid that the vocal minority of survivors will try and call for nerfs ASAP. I know like 99% of people will either like Freddy or point out actual problems he will most likely have.
but the reality is the people who will hate him the most will speak the loudest and try and nerf him. It’s happened before with skull merchant, (She needed something but not the gut) and so many perks on both sides.
From a possible Freddy main (a sentence no one has said before) please try and keep the Freddy talk civil and not let the trolls tell the devs what’s right.

I think he seems to be much too incentivized to slug and is pretty good at it, since you need to Wake Up before you pick someone up off the ground unless you want the 'ole Fredster to be on your ass.
Other than that, it's fine, I guess. I was hoping for more, but he's better. Maybe B-tier? Just seems a little boring.

He probably will be to be honest. My impression of him on the PTB is that he's a strong chase killer for how easy he is with an excellent teleport ability.
There is no penalty at all for using his power (just like skull merchant), therefore he should have a high success/kill rate. Also has great synergy with perks because he's a basic attack killer with a teleport directly on gens. Also causes healing to be complicated, and even if it gets removed on dying survivors it'll still be pretty good.
Do i think he's overpowered, no but that's not what matters, the devs will balance on kill rates.
So yeah, won't be surprised when he gets gutted. Again.2 -
I feel like a common sense change would be to make a distinction between healing a downed player vs healing an injured player, and only allow him to TP to healing injured players. Not sure how that's treated at the code level though. Might be difficult/impossible if it's all the same healing function.
But yeah, it will be problematic if he can teleport to slugs, because players will absolutely be as annoying as humanly possible and use him that way.

I'm kinda disappointed in the rework. He's probably a tier better, but he still isn't very good imo

Probably will be since players are going against Bots and not real people. Not sure how they get accurate data when Bots are filling the lobby.

Lots of stuff gets adjusted in the game. Everyone has complaints. That's normal. Some things get complained about a lot. Nurse, Skull Merchant, but also survivor things like old Dead Hard, old MFT, old Buckle Up+FTP, etc (I have to use the word old because they got nerfed or outright destroyed).
Skull Merchant was hated like no other killer. Multiple metrics pointed to a problem: kill rates, feedback, gameplay.
Freddy will get some changes, that's normal. People will complain about Freddy, that's normal. But Skull Merchant was on entirely different level.

Until self-kills on hook can't artificially pad a killers numbers the way it happened with Skull Merchant, the possibility is there.
The way things currently stand, another bandwagon "go next" hookicide campaign could form and generate the illusion that Freddy's new kit is more deadly than it actually is.

Pretty sure the Devs said that people killing themselves on their first hook accounted for only 2% or so of her kills

That's not what you were implying, so do not move the goalposts now.
You implied that Survivors, as a whole, had some sort of coordinated conspiracy to take down SM.
Turns out, people just found her to be atrociously unpleasant to play against in the best of circumstances and downright vile in the worst.
I do not claim to speak for the community at large, but I don't think you can just assume there was some conspiracy without some significant proof.

When you have survivor mains coming to the forums out of the woodwork and flat out saying "I don't care what they do to her, I will always DC against her," and various version of that, they have given the game away. It was never about how strong or annoying she was. They were hating her just to hate her.

I'll probably stop playing DBD for good if Freddy gets gutted any time soon after his rework or is butchered before he even makes it to live

Well like every killer hes coming out strong. There are some things that will be nerfed on the ptb and hopefully after a patch or two he gets nerfed to a balance place.

how is this any different from singular slugging? you can need to use EMP to pick up slugs else singularity can use his camera to teleport to you. A killer that already has this play-style already excels and does it better then freddy.

Freddy according to dev already has high kill-rate. I believe he was in top 10 deadly killers.

Isn't there an addon for Sadako that only works when healing injured survivors but not slugged survivors? So I would hope they can implement a distinction like that, as otherwise Freddy will be just another hated killer by the survivor community.

Were you absent from the forum, social media and Twitch prior to the most recent SM nerf?
It definitely did become a bandwagon thing to "go next" against the Skull Merchant whether it was DC, first/second hook self-kill or simply afking.
They pulled up the stat sheet, saw inflated, inaccurate numbers, gave her a nerf she didn't deserve and the same thing can happen to Freddy.

Dead by Daylight is 9 years old game, yes? And they released too many killers for years. And for that long time, only 2 killers caused epidemic level give ups. One was old Legion and the other was Skull Merchant. This did not happen with any other killer.
So please can we stop pointing out extreme examples and acting like this gonna happen with any new killer / rework?
Freddy is fine on PTB. The only thing they need to nerf is teleporting slugged survivor. And that's a fair change to ask.

Well, yes. Its that way now, even with current Freddy. Or any killer.
But Im not with Pulsar on nerfing for 'potential' issues. Hard to say this, but letting things play out and 'hoping' things that need fixed get fixed is pretty much all we can do.

I’m talking about the few survivors that will complain about any buff or rework. There are only a few, maybe. 1:30 or less ratio but those people are the most outspoken.
These people are on both sides, I e seen a fair amount of killers say the same thing.

Well then, I agree with ya. Regardless of what changes are made to the game, n matter how big or small, there will always be one or more who crap on it.
