I wanna see my mmr
I wanna know where I land on in mmr to have be this super awkward mess that somehow a DC just causes it to sky rocket when in fact a DC shouldn't effect it at all or how a survivor giving up on hook effects it even though it was their first hook. So I wanna know where I am mmr wise to at least have it make sense of why matchmaking is this mess.

I can understand why BHVR don't want players to see others' MMRs in lobbies, but I don't understand why they won't at least show us our own MMR. If someone wants to tank MMR to try to get easier opponents, they're going to do it regardless. Other than that, I can't think of any conceivable reason to not let players see it other than BHVR's historical tendency to be extremely non-transparent with game data/stats.

Yep, it's very frustrating how stingy they are with providing any stats related to the game
7 -
That would be cool seeing your stats even it pointless a lot of games do it here's the stats that they could do
Most played survivor/killer
Most used perks
Average generator completions
Average escapes
Average sacrifices

I want to see it too. I'd like to see someone make an argument against it, just like they can't against the low BP cap.

The BP cap is meant to make players engage in the grind. It's dumb, but the type of thing live service games like to throw in.
The MMR is relatively straight forward, pretty much every argument about game balance and design would have demands that someone post their MMR. This would lead to people sweating a lot more, which is meant to be an option but not the way the game is designed, so that they could brag about their MMR. It would also frequently lead to people accusing others of lying about their MMR.

Now, what are you going to do with it?

You cant see what doesnt exist. Cause if it would exist, there is no excuse to not show it to the players themself.

there is big difference between MMR that is hidden from players in every multiplayer game that has it and rank that is visible
1 -
Because they want to keep the "sweatiness" at bay the most possible. They don't want people trying to grind the ladder/realize that their MMR is lower than expected.

I kinda don't wanna see my number, I don't care how good I am at this game.

It's more so I can see how a DC still counts even though I'm going against the game. Or how I got a 4k because the survivors all gave up causes it sky rocket so I'm not entering an area where I'm going to be stomped and stay there for about ten matches then it lowers to a small area then sky rockets again. That's all I want to see my MMR for just so I can see how insane it is because clearly doing nothing all match still makes your MMR go up because you escaped. Performance should go to MMR not how many kills or if you escaped.

i don't want to see my MMR, i want ranked mode so that i can truly know i am grinding my skill by improving against players of close to my skill level :P

I don't think BHVR want people to think about their MMR at all, tbh. This is pretty clear evidence to me that the game leans more towards a casual game than a competitive one. I don't think a game with so many random elements and imbalances could ever be considered a "serious" competitive game.
I actually think lots of maps intentionally favour one side or the other as a mechanism for smoothing out potential mismatches. For example, if you're a skilled Billy and the system matches you up with a weaker team, then the map selector will be more likely to send you to an indoor map like Lery's. I have no evidence for this theory of course, it's just a hunch of mine.
I admit I'm a little bit curious about what my MMR rank might be, but I don't care to go through all that bother to get a JSON file containing a bunch of meaningless, out of context numbers. DBD is the kind of game in which you can beat much better opponents than you. You can stack way too many things in your favour for your MMR to be an accurate reflection of your skills.
I do think it is a bit weird that the grade system is public yet has no bearing on match making. I often see newer players on reddit think they've reached the top ranks when they hit Iri grade, only to be told that the grade is not a rank at all. This is not well communicated to players at all and can be a little confusing when you're getting started. Adding yet another ranking would probably just cause more confusion to more casual gamers that might play only a few games a week.

Harassment over a statistic that in all likelihood is horrifically unrepresentative of a given player's skill?
Any refusal to show MMR were it public would be seen as admission that it's unacceptably low.

So what? There is no visible rank in DbD that has anything to do with MMR, cause there isnt even a ranked mode.
