Let's talk about Game Afoot

It's been eight months since I made a bug report about Game Afoot. I don't want to make another one because there's like three bug reports about game afoot anyway. I want to post about it here instead to draw more attention (and hopefully fix) this issue.

Special pallet breaks including killer powers, perks, and I assume event pallet breaks if they are ever coming back do not trigger the haste status effect one should gain when breaking a pallet in this manner. This wouldn't be as egregious if both the perk itself AND the wiki both state that you should get haste no matter how you break the pallet, even after eight months of this perk not working as intended. Either fix the issue or change the description.

Thwack works with killer powers. I think it didn’t for a while. It’s an easy fix that would make gameafoot good on pallet eaters

gameafoot used to work on killer powers and it keeps being bugged and not bugged to work. i like using the perk but i wish the perk was slightly consistent. a terrible perk that i enjoy using for non-serious games.

I keep falling for the enticing nemesis-main desire to make a game afoot build just for it to not work like 75% of the time. I use a build to make sure I'm almost always chasing the obsession and even though the entity tendrils are doing their little dance on the obsession, AND the perk is shown as active by being lit, I get no benefit from the perk.

This includes breaking pallets both normally and with the tentacle (tier 2 and 3, appears to make no difference) and using the kick action on generators.

The only thing this perk does somewhat reliably is swap the obsession on a basic attack.

    Very deflating

This has definitely worked in the past, breaking pallets with Demo's shred triggered the perk and Haste. Shame if it isn't working currently, but not like it really matters with the state the perk is in.

It should simply proc regardless of whether it is the Obsession you have chase state on. That's way too restrictive, and 5% for 10 seconds isn't that much to begin with, let alone after having broken a pallet. Alternatively, at least make it so that a survivor becomes the Obsession when they drop a pallet while having chase state.

Agree. It's insane how many killers perks are being held back by silly and unnecessary restrictions. Even more sad is how many long years devs need to understand it and change perk from garbage to just okish state. Like we all know, for example, that Thrilling Tremors will lose cooldown some day just to become very mediocre perk, but how many years devs need for that? 6? 7? 8?
Or who said to devs that Dark Arrogance while having a completely mediocre effect at best, it should have a downside effect that brings more to the survivors than main effect of the perk to killer?

BVHR balances around bad survivors that whine that x killer perk is too strong/overpowered. I have been waiting for like a year for them to change gameafoot text line from Longest chased survivor to Basic attack/attack.

by changing the line so that every basic or just every attack changes obsession, the perk would have stand-alone capacity to activate and would synergize with Brutal Strength+Fire up, Obsession perks such as Remember me, Dark devotion, Furtive chase, Rancor and Play with your food.

you would be able to run some end game builds, stealth and chase builds. BVHR and Survivor likely believe that many of these killer perk are OP and should not be selected.

Hmm! Really appreciate you taking the time to lay this all out (and submitting it as a bug report previously). Let me take this back to the team for you.
